This privatization made it safe and secure for people to interact and hence do business over the internet.

The internet has become more commercial because has grown so rapidly. The internet world is the fasted growing thing in the current world today. A person level of education attainment is strongly related to the likelihood of the internet access. This is because it is only at a particular education level that one gets exposed to the internet and understands how it works and therefore can be able to access and use it comfortably. The digital divide based on the differences in education attainment is likely to be related to the digital divide stemming from the income differences. This is because those from low income families most likely will not attain high education levels and hence will not be able to get the internet knowledge that comes with the different levels of education attainment.

Aggregate e-commerce transactions are harder to measure as compared to traditional business transactions. This is because the records of these transactions are not easily available and can easily be deleted therefore it can be difficult to terieve such information for purposes of calculations. The government can put in place regulations on the e-commerce business such that transactions are monitored hence making it possible for accounting to be done. There are objections to such a government action since people might argue that the government is prying on the privacy of these businesses.

Yes, I agree that downturn on e-commerce would have a direct negative impact on the economy of the U.S this is many people are using this platform to carry out their business. It is not only the business owners that are in this but also people who create the websites and help in their maintenance. Therefore, a downturn in e-commerce will not only impact business owners but also other people who depend on e-commerce for employment and those that have invested in the industry.
