Potassium Element
1. Claim a chemical in the ocean and post it in your First Thread. Include your chemical and your
name in the Subject line. Do not duplicate someone else’s chemical. You should post your
chemical first to claim it, and then finish your report by replying to your First Thread.
2. Write at least 150 words about the background of your chemical, answering the following:
Where does it come from? What is its distribution? Is it in solution or suspended? What is its
biological significance? Is there anything particularly interesting about it?
3. Report on its concentration. Provide the concentration in units you found reported in your
reference. Convert those units into two other different concentration units and show all the steps
in your work. (For example, if you found your chemical listed in ppm, you can convert it into %
and molarity.)
4. Remember to provide all references used in proper APA citations with live links to your
sources. Respond to two other classmates, and respond to substantial posts under your own
thread.
