19th-century artists challenge to Academy

Academic art is a style of either painting or sculpture production influenced by the European literary arts. Beaux-Art architecture is closely related to academic art as it holds the same classical ideal. The painting and sculpt expressed thoughts and statements, values, and ideas concerning an object or subject.

Although academic art was influential, it brought along the challenge to theoretical values. Academic art was not into the concerns, wants or the interest of an individual. Some of the significant difficulties with the art were unclear communication, social identity, capabilities are ignored, and economic and social imbalance.

Some art and sculpts do not give precise information on the message they are to put across, especially to those who cannot translate them. There is also misinterpretation of the message being put on a cross by different paints as different people see and judge their opinions. The art of a bird on a tree may be used to show a sign of peace, but another person interprets it as love for nature, unlike in modern academics, where a written message is given to be read and understood by most people.

Not all people are interested in art, but literary art does not give an alternative option for a student to choose from. This is a challenge to the academic values, which are more concerned with the interest and what the learner wants to identify him or herself with. The potential of a learner is also not given any concern. A learner may be capable of doing a good write-up, but since it is only available, it remains hidden and not utilized.

Art has different segments, which are; artistic purpose, subject matter, and content. All this has contributed to the change in art expectations. The purpose of art has transformed from being a mechanical or technical skill to a contemplated and introspected thinking. The area of concern that has led to the inspiration of art may be a cultural, historical, or formal context that has changed the subject matter in art. Art is no longer a decorative piece to an emotional and our way of thinking as a person. A piece of art has helped change how we think and appreciate certain perspectives of life like diverse cultures and communities and their participation in different aspects of life.

Art is still one of the many ways to express one’s thinking and appreciation of different things. Giving the proper art education without forcing it on people brings out the effectiveness of art and can convey the intended meaning. The theoretical values have contributed significantly to this by getting the interest direction of a learner, nurturing it, and ensuring the learner produces what was intended and not the instructor’s order. This provides the people seeing the art or sculpts able to derive intended meaning.

19th Century Art Concerning Modern Life

Artist in the 19th century has in one way or the other described modern life in different arts. Some artists used their skills to describe the emotional and psychological effects of the transformation. An example is a painting showing a stripped person with an anxious face. This shows a person deprived of what he knew and meeting a new world with no idea how to go about it. This shows the transformational journey and its consequences.

Some other arts were used to show the kind of lifestyle coming or being experienced in modern life. Art leads people to a gathering with drinks and specific modes of dressing that were not seen in the 19th century. The art explains the day-to-day life of people, the modern life of partying, and the indecent mode of dressing that has come along with the lifestyle.

Art colors also gave different phases in the transformational journey to modernization. Some artists used dark colors to express the difficulties to be experienced during the transformation. Bright colors with a shade of white were used to encourage patience in the transformation process to modernization which is vivid in the modern world.

The human figure was one of the significant arts used to send or express ones thinking or art direction. A human figure with strokes was a sign of a hinder or a courageous person. Some on vases or walls showed cultural beliefs and trust. A human figure, especially interiors, led romance and quietness—Pastel color, which raised the worker’s mood. A figure drawn with casual clothes that is bright with a pose shows confidence in the person. A person with dull colors and looking straightforward was depicted to show vulnerability and easy to be taken advantage of.

The human body was also used to express optimal beauty. The journey to explore the human body was used to the technological rapid change in the development of many life areas. The political and social changes were also artistically shown using the human body, which transforms as time goes by. This art depiction is vivid in the current rapid change in almost all aspects of life from social, political, and even cultural elements. The use of colors on women’s art figures also gave meaning to the described type of woman. A woman figure with blank ink and white background indicated simplicity in a woman. Others showed immorality and others chaotic

Whether modern or ancient, art always gives a broad message than spoken words to those who can deduce it. Technology has improved art in many aspects and made it more apparent to everyone despite being an artist in the contemporary world. This has contributed to many people developing an interest in artwork. Art has also boosted the economy as it used a skill to earn a living among people with the desire to venture into it without being forced. Art is food for thought.

In an era where the number of degree holders has drastically increased over the past few decades, there have been massive changes in one’s outlook both from people and personal on what is a success. Acquisition of a degree is now seen as a leeway to being wealthy, securing pistons of one’s kid in a prestigious school, access to health insurance, and having a distinguished job. This was all brought about through evangelization by politicians, though they did not have the prerequisite and used their political affiliations to fatten their pockets. Education is now perceived as a docket for escaping poverty through avoiding debts, high medical bills, and having expertise and achievements. For those that they cannot gain education, they are seen as failures in life and they are blamed for the state in which they are in, with no considerations of other factors that influence attaining of education. In overhyping education, we fail to pay due to merit where it is deserved, just because a degree warrants expertise, status, and accomplishments. For this reason, personal merits such as natural talents are overlooked, the ability to handle people naturally with ease, and also self-education.

Concerning education, the federal-state plays a major role in ensuring that there is free and accessible education for all regardless of their age, gender, race, social or economic status. This will help to bridge the gaps that the upper social class can afford and even pay their way into an institution of choice while the abject poor who can barely afford any level of education cannot do so CITATION Tai21 l 1033 (Taibbi, 2021). Fostering public education by ensuring that taxes are allocated to the local government s to provide education at the local levels. This is in line with what Ronald Reagan Idealized that “ the government at most owed those who were not to blame for their problems” CITATION Tai21 l 1033 (Taibbi, 2021). As the law stipulates that every kid has a right to free public education and a right of free will. There is no requirement that every kid must attend if they do not wish to do so, there is freedom of choice despite what has been offered. Freedom of speech should be free for all as the law governs. Just because they are uneducated does not imply that their opinions should be overlooked nor should they not be heard. Anyone of sound mind should be free to express themselves and be heard.

The state should distance itself from any form of discrimination against whether one is educated or uneducated. The federal-state should ensure that there is no monetization on credential education whether one is rich or poor. There should be emphasis that learning does not only take place in a school but there is learning outside and the self-taught which should also be applauded. Minimizing corruption and fraud is a major way of sustaining funding to public schools. The right to free public education should be free for all. Learning best takes place when it is self-motivated and self-directed and tends to bring out the best results. Education should not target only papers but also personal development and achievements that need to be checked to avoid measuring success against status, achievements, and expertise. Freedom of speech should apply to all equally regardless of their educational background. Whether one is educated or not should be a hindrance to them expressing themselves. In line with this, one’s educational status does not define one’s lifetime.

INSIDE THE HBCU SPORTS CLUB

INSIDE THE HBCU SPORTS CLUB

INTRODUCTION.

COVID-19 has been a subject of scrutiny not only in the united states but in the world. The work is an analysis of how the pandemic has affected highschool students in Texas. The students in question are athletes that have tested positive of COVID-I9. The Superintendent has released a statement on how some the student athletes have shown symptoms of the disease within and without the campus. The management involved is trying its best to manage the situation and protect all the students involved. There are four different speakers in the booth all talking about sports, athletes, awards and the alumnis of the whole state which is Texas. The Athletes of Jackson State and HBCU seem to stand out in the candid discussion.

THE BIG QUESTIONS;WHO HAS THE ANSWERS?

Dr. Cavil, Charles, Mike and John held the show to talk about sports updates, featured updates, news, interviews and academic reports connected to athletes and HBCU sports. They all seem to be experts that update us on the fields where they are distinguished. They seem to be critisizing the management of the teams during the COVID-19 period. Four games were set to feature historically black colleges are cancelled and positive tests spread to many major university programs as players return. The games had been set to take place for the first part of the fall season but the virus seems to have spread to even major confrence institutions. There were hopes that the football season would not be affected but experts have advised it as the spread of the virus is likely to be complicated by the coming flu season.

The National Collegiate Athlete Association’s Division 1 warned against the games and in the discussion one of the parties is suggesting a change in the legistlature to make the rules flexible for the HBCU during trying times. There had been some protests during the last few months from the athletes demanding solutions. The football League seems to have suspended all sports through the end of spring 2020.

They see that the continuation of the sports season very risky for everyone involved. Various solutions had been proposed but there is no way to prove if someone contracted the virus in the arena or outside. The association, the league and the management parties involved say that they are likely to be served with lawsuits if the student athletes contacted the virus during HBCU activities. The first student athlete to test positive for the virus has come foward with the claim that he contracted COVID 19 in the arena and regardless of the expected lawsuit for such exposure, there is no way to prove it. Students and faculty claiming that they got the virus in the job are expected to prove their claims.

COVID 19 has affected Black Americans that depend on scholarships and sports for their survival. The virus has truly left a dent not only in HBCU football but also in tennis and the women’s football leagues.Mike talks abou how this whole pandemic is not as temporary as the league had predicted. How is the HBCU equiped to survive a more permanent situation, there are fears that some HBCU colleges have to cut sports such as tennis and even baseball from the programmes that cannot survive the pandemic. The HBCU’s are calling for government intervention to make sure that the health of all the athletes including the ones being recruited.

There are different opinions and some are of the opinion that the pandemic is being used as an excuse to cut certain programmes that are considered to be of a lesser value compared to football. The golf programme is apparently not as expensive as other programmes but is somehow about to get budget cuts. In the show viewers and listeners get to air their opinions and they think the HBCU can do better and that they are not as financially crippled as they claim. The different perspectives are on the sports that should get the budget cuts and those that should be spared. The sports are under review on which should get the chop, under review are sports such as volleyball, softball, golf and even track.

Three out of five states that host the HBCU sports seem to have faced budget cuts, some schools in the south have already cut its track and field programs. “Was there not sufficient momentum built to sustain a viable track and field program to sustain a viable track and field program for atleast a couple of generetions?” Is the question on everyones mind. Is there malice involved in the budget cuts and are they targetting certain HBCU’s . It is suspicious that such a big institution falls short when there have been season after season of all these sports activity year after year.

The recruitment process seems to be under scrutiny, a programme that many aspiring athletes benefit directly from alot of big dreamers let down here. There have been opinions to drop athletes , redudant equipment and staff before they drop a certain category of sport.

CONCLUSION

The HBCU’s are where a large number of students from the black community go for their college education. Most of those students are not in good financial situations as a large number of them receive scholarship rides through the very vas ability to play good ball. Sports programmes are set so that this aspiring athletes can help not only themselves but the community the go back to after their college experience comes to a halt.

The sports programme being so centre in these HBCU’S, the budgets should be managed and enough resources saved for rainy days such as the pandemic that hit earlier this year. The conclusion on whether the games will go on or not has not yet been determined and this has brought alot of unrest among its direct and indirect beneficiaries. The HBCU’s should find a way to maintain the sports teams that have the most beneficiaries while finding a way to compensate those who are at a loss. It is a tough time for everyone and this too shall pass.
