Abstract

As a professional nurse, delegation is an essential skill. Delegation done correctly can safely and effectively help speed up patient care. To ensure a safe allocation of responsiblities, health workers must understand their role as licenced professionals, as well as roles and restrictions of other licenced and non-licensed professionals. Regardless of the outcome, the nurses bear responsibility for the delegation. Understanding how to delegate correctly and effectively is a critical skill for healthcare professionals ADDIN CSL_CITATION {“citationItems”:[{“id”:”ITEM-1″,”itemData”:{“DOI”:”10.1016/j.cnre.2017.10.001″,”ISSN”:”20957718″,”abstract”:”In current clinical settings, effective clinical leadership ensures a high-quality health care system that consistently provides safe and efficient care. It is useful, then, for health care professionals to be able to identify the leadership styles and theories relevant to their nursing practice. Being adept in recognizing these styles not only enables nurses to develop their skills to become better leaders but also improves relationships with colleagues and leaders who have previously been challenging to work with. This article aims to use different leadership theories to interpret a common scenario in clinical settings in order to improve leadership effectiveness. Ultimately, it is found that different leadership styles are needed for different situations, and leaders should know which approach is most effective in a given scenario to achieve the organization’s goals.”,”author”:[{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Xu”,”given”:”Jie-Hui”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””}],”container-title”:”Chinese Nursing Research”,”id”:”ITEM-1″,”issue”:”4″,”issued”:{“date-parts”:[[“2017″,”12″,”1″]]},”page”:”155-157″,”publisher”:”Elsevier”,”title”:”Leadership theory in clinical practice”,”type”:”article-journal”,”volume”:”4″},”uris”:[“http://www.mendeley.com/documents/?uuid=dcda5894-a38d-318b-b138-13605bd8fdcb”]}],”mendeley”:{“formattedCitation”:”(Xu, 2017)”,”plainTextFormattedCitation”:”(Xu, 2017)”},”properties”:{“noteIndex”:0},”schema”:”https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json”}(Xu, 2017). Delegation and teamwork is more effective when nurses and staff communicate effectively with one another, and the patient’s care team supports continuity and clarity. Good communication fosters cooperation, fosters teamwork, and aids in the prevention of errors.

Professional Expectations of Registered Nurse and Certified Nursing Assistant

Delegation in the nursing profession is the transfer of responsibility for a specific task from the nurse to another health care professional while the nurse remains responsible for the outcome of the direct conciuences. As stated in the national guidelines for Nursing Delegation, it entails effective communication, empowering employees to make decisions based on their own judgement, and the support of all health care levels (2016). The delegation entails specific tasks for the leader, the authorised individual nurse, and the delegate. It is important to assign tasks that the delegate fully understands and can complete. As a technician in the emergency department, I have served as a representative on numerous occasions. The most efficient and correct method of ensuring that questions are asked and follow-up is done with the nurse who has asked me to perform a task. Monitoring the assigned task as a health care professional ensures that the patient has been treated properly and correctly. Delegating a task that is poorly performed or harms the patient puts the patient’s safety at risk and may result in nursing responsibility.

Delegating Responsibility

The delegation’s responsibility must not be underestimated. It is critical for a health care professional to determine who can be delegated. Understanding individual roles is critical to every nursing assistant. The scope of practise for medical professionals who are not licenced or registered can be strictly limited, which is important in the delegation process. According to ADDIN CSL_CITATION {“citationItems”:[{“id”:”ITEM-1″,”itemData”:{“DOI”:”10.1111/(ISSN)1440-1800″,”ISSN”:”1320-7881″,”author”:[{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Allan”,”given”:”H”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Magnusson”,”given”:”C”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Evans”,”given”:”K”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Ball”,”given”:”E”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Westwood”,”given”:”S”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Curtis”,”given”:”K”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Horton”,”given”:”K”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Johnson”,”given”:”M”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””}],”container-title”:”Nursing Inquiry”,”id”:”ITEM-1″,”issue”:”4″,”issued”:{“date-parts”:[[“2016″]]},”page”:”377-385″,”title”:”Delegation and supervision of health care assistants’ work in the daily management of uncertain and the unexpected in clinical practice: invisible learning among newly qualified nurses”,”type”:”article-journal”,”volume”:”23″},”uris”:[“http://www.mendeley.com/documents/?uuid=9867c191-1d0c-3263-aec8-5ed846fa5cd1″]}],”mendeley”:{“formattedCitation”:”(Allan et al., 2016)”,”plainTextFormattedCitation”:”(Allan et al., 2016)”,”previouslyFormattedCitation”:”(Allan et al., 2016)”},”properties”:{“noteIndex”:0},”schema”:”https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json”}(Allan et al., 2016) registered nurses must understand their powers and responsibilities when making decisions about patient care delegations. In order to provide safe, high-quality care, nursing educators must educate future registered nurses on delegation skills. An example of a scenario, is in the emergency room, I’ve been asked to perform tasks that are outside of my expertise. Providentially, I am able to express to the employer that I could not perform the job safely or in my field. Unfortunately, this is not always the case, as some professionals may attempt to complete this task without fully comprehending the risks to patient care and safety. A registered nurse is still in charge of ensuring that a delegate is fully and appropriately assigned to a task he/she comprehend with ease ADDIN CSL_CITATION {“citationItems”:[{“id”:”ITEM-1″,”itemData”:{“DOI”:”10.1097/NND.0000000000000613″,”abstract”:”Precepting is a demanding but important role for successful onboarding in healthcare institutions. Communication

Proper Communication contributes to the ability to provide an indivisualized care toa given patient and necessitates effective performance. It entails active listening as well as adequate response to patient needs and concerns. It entails an accurate assessment of body language as well as a nonjudgmental attitude. RNs and CNAs must be communicative in order to complete tasks correctly and in good time. Errors occur when there is a lack of communication. Such human error caused may jeopardise a patient’s safety. Delegation is an essential part of being a manager, and effectively delegating necessitates effective communication. If you delegate or transfer responsibilities to your team, they must be able to clearly deliver the task and maintain open lines of communication with your team. As a result, better communication improves through training, and working conditions, such as reporting vital information to RN and therefore work execution, has been improved.

Teamwork

Working as a team necessitates mutual trust in each others’ various skills, which improves the overal staff cohesion ADDIN CSL_CITATION {“citationItems”:[{“id”:”ITEM-1″,”itemData”:{“DOI”:”10.1111/nin.12413″,”ISSN”:”14401800″,”abstract”:”Supervision and delegation are important leadership skills that nurses require when practising within the multi-tiered nursing team. An exploratory descriptive research design was used to examine supervision and delegation of Nursing Assistants in an acute hospital setting in Victoria, Australia. It was found that supervision and delegation in the context of a multi-tier nursing team required a complex assessment and decision-making process which was influenced by multiple factors. This research promotes developing transparent nursing practices and mutual understanding in the multi-tier nursing team to facilitate effective supervision and delegation based on informed decision-making and culture of openness and trust. Pre-registration education and continuing education and support for nurses are important to build transparent supervision and delegation practices and teamwork, empowering the nursing team to practice to their full scope of practice to provide high-quality patient care.”,”author”:[{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Walker”,”given”:”Felicity Ann”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Ball”,”given”:”Madeleine”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Cleary”,”given”:”Sonja”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Pisani”,”given”:”Heather”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””}],”container-title”:”Nursing Inquiry”,”id”:”ITEM-1″,”issued”:{“date-parts”:[[“2021″]]},”page”:”e12413″,”publisher”:”John Wiley & Sons, Ltd”,”title”:”Transparent teamwork: The practice of supervision and delegation within the multi-tiered nursing team”,”type”:”article-journal”},”uris”:[“http://www.mendeley.com/documents/?uuid=f8af4324-164b-3fed-96e4-8f129b425b31″]}],”mendeley”:{“formattedCitation”:”(Walker et al., 2021)”,”plainTextFormattedCitation”:”(Walker et al., 2021)”,”previouslyFormattedCitation”:”(Walker et al., 2021)”},”properties”:{“noteIndex”:0},”schema”:”https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json”}(Walker et al., 2021). The appropriate way of handling a patient care in a professional health care system is with proper communication with other nurses. To improve quality as a team, whereby everyone can foster creativity, which in turn enhances new learning abilities that can be used in any patient care situation. Some obstacles to the successful implementation of treatments that affected collaboration were also identified in the articles. When team members share the workload equally and tasks are assigned based on the team members’ strengths and abilities, tasks are completed faster and more efficiently, significantly increasing productivity. Improved nursing collaboration will also raise awareness of the environmental risk factors that contribute to medical errors, patient safety, and patient death rate reductions. It also leads to better outcomes for employees, such as lower stress and thus higher job satisfaction.

Conclusion

Then the delegation of tasks builds on a management style which in turn enables your staff to use their skills and knowledge fully and to develop on it. As a nurse, delegating tasks requires a thorough understanding of healthcare roles and tasks. Delegating task as a nurse takes deeper understanding of responsibility and roles, therefore we continue to be solely accountable for all patient safetyADDIN CSL_CITATION {“citationItems”:[{“id”:”ITEM-1″,”itemData”:{“DOI”:”10.1097/NND.0000000000000343″,”ISSN”:”2169981X”,”PMID”:”28471995″,”abstract”:”High preceptor turnover and mandates for cost efficiency in a rapidly changing healthcare environment require innovative approaches for developing and supporting nurse preceptors. It also showed improved learning and preceptor satisfaction and increased educational, networking, and recognition opportunities.”,”author”:[{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Senyk”,”given”:”Johanna”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””},{“dropping-particle”:””,”family”:”Staffileno”,”given”:”Beth A.”,”non-dropping-particle”:””,”parse-names”:false,”suffix”:””}],”container-title”:”Journal for Nurses in Professional Development”,”id”:”ITEM-1″,”issue”:”3″,”issued”:{“date-parts”:[[“2017″]]},”page”:”131-137″,”publisher”:”Lippincott Williams and Wilkins”,”title”:”Reframing nursing preceptor development: A comprehensive approach to improve education, standardize processes, and decrease costs”,”type”:”article-journal”,”volume”:”33″},”uris”:[“http://www.mendeley.com/documents/?uuid=dd9b8624-4ab9-39b0-9a68-a5888b3c3cd7″]}],”mendeley”:{“formattedCitation”:”(Senyk & Staffileno, 2017)”,”plainTextFormattedCitation”:”(Senyk & Staffileno, 2017)”,”previouslyFormattedCitation”:”(Senyk & Staffileno, 2017)”},”properties”:{“noteIndex”:0},”schema”:”https://github.com/citation-style-language/schema/raw/master/csl-citation.json”}(Senyk & Staffileno, 2017). The appropriate delegation of responsibilities can have much more a positive effect on patient treatment, helping to improve the results of the treatment. An effective team includes team members and patients who communicate while combining observations, expertise, and decisions to prioritize professional and optimum care of patients.

Homeschooling

IntroductionIn 2012, more than three million students around the world were home-schooled, and the number continues to increase at a rapid rate even to this day. In just a ten-year time span from 2002 to 2012, there was eighty-three percent increase of homeschooled children around the world with United States scoring more than ¼ of the number (Kunzman 20). This information or data corresponds with the rise of Americans who think that parents ought to have the right to home-school their children. The rate of homeschooling moved from fifty percent in 2002 to eighty percent in 2012 (Ray 30). Despite the fact that critics state that many parents do not have teaching requirements or credentials and lack of socialization from the home schooled students can lead to poor social skills and isolation. In addition, other scholars have noted that there are many positive effects for students to consider home schooling as compared to the negative effects.Homeschooling is the best option of student’s education since it allows them to have one on one tutoring; the ability to choose the curriculum that fits well with the family customs and beliefs as well a more flexible schedule, and student’s natural ability are some of the advantages of home schooling (Taylor-Hough 11). Home- schooling; which is a type of education that takes place at home has been a contentious choice for education hence opposed by many people and professionals in the past since the early 19th century as it was prohibited in most countries or states up to 1990. Before, then attending public school was the only choice of education because attending public school was compulsory up to 1990.Despite the controversy surrounding home- schooling because of lack of teacher qualification for parents as well as the lack of socialization, homeschooling is a viable option for education since students can have an outstanding education at home and for several other reasons, one of which is the chance to offer students one on one tutoring. Parents have the chance of giving his/her child 100 percent attention whereas a public school teacher must supervise more than 40 children (Taylor-Hough 13). By using one on one method of schooling, students have a chance of asking the parents a question and receive and immediate answer as compared to classroom education whereby the students has to wait for the teacher to have time for questions. Home schooling allows a student to get stronger and well-rounded accessibility and learn at a faster pace as compared to classroom education. As a result, home-schooled students have higher national tests scores and grades. For example, standardized testing in the United States and United Arab emirates as well as the United Kingdom have shown that home-schooled children or students have scored higher than the average students in their countries. Home-schooled children score approximately 1.8 points higher in the ACT and 69 points higher on the SAT.Home schooling permits students to have a more flexible schedule for the homework as compared to students who attend private or public schools which must be in school for more than seven hours a day. If students are faced with inflexible or tough schedules due to disability, illness and sports or even due to family lifestyles, the students may not have the chance to attend on schooling days a week hence causing education disruptions that lead to lower or poor grades in the future. In addition, a student may be limited to studying at the same pace of an average school; brilliant student may feel like he/she is held back while a struggling student may feel pushed or rushed (Kunzman 22). With the availability of homeschooling a brilliant or sharp student can ease or quicken his/her pace and choose or select a challenging curriculum that is not offered at public schools; a student struggling can work at his/her own pace to understand the curriculum fully. In addition, home-schooled students have the option of choosing the number of classes to take at a go; they may opt to choose one subject at a time or even six or seven classes at a time. This kind of flexibility permits home-schooled students to strengthen their education by allowing them to choose how to study for their personal benefits. However, several critics have noted that many parents or guardians lack the required qualifications to tutor their kids complex subjects such as mathematics and physics. It is true that many parents are not able to teach their children difficult subjects because there are not experts in them. Students and parents can choose a correspondence or online courses if they pose excellent computer skills in addition to writing and reading skills, where they can get full attention to a tutor (Kunzman 21). This is a challenge to many home-schooled students who have limited access to internet and computer. In addition, such students are disadvantaged due to low-internet speeds. On tutoring also depends on the availability of the tutor. For example, in a case that the tutor is sick or attending family responsibilities he/she may not be able to teach the home-schooling student. The other negative side of homeschooling is the lack of socialization that can lead to inability to work with others in the future and anti-social personality. Even with the best home-schooling education, you cannot add the social part (Ray 33). Scholars have noted that since home-schooled students do not go out of their houses for school, they may be faced with social problems when they get jobs. However, what critics have not realized is that home-schooled students have a chance of socializing in various other ways including part-time jobs, church activities, and via sports.ConclusionDespite all the advantages of home schooling, parents or guardians should understand that homeschooling is not the only available option for education. Private and public schools are the other possibilities for students who are seeking best education. However, students and parents should comprehend the best alternatives since each option has it positive and negative sides. Home schooling allows students to study at their own speed and to have suppleness with their academic schedules. Parents are also given chance to help their kids with their education. Socialization may be hard to incorporate in a public school education, but it is easy to add into homeschooler’s schedule. Public schools are the best choice of education to many, but one should understand that there are other choices for education. Ultimately, homeschoolers have higher test grades and scores and have a chance to use one on one tutoring. Parents and students should ensure they use the best option since twelve grades where a child is in school is the most significant time for education growth.

Planet of Ape is a drama film and at the same is a fiction film.

The plot or story of planet of apes

The creativity behind the making of “Planet of Apes” left many people astonished. The idea and the story behind the film left a lot of viewers and filmmakers surprised. The film is about astronauts who landed on a planet that was full of apes. In the real sense, apes are wild mammals and only a few are domesticated. Despite apes having a physical body that almost resembles that of a human being, it has never crossed the mind of a man that an ape can be intelligent like or more than a human being. The writer of the film twists the reality by changing the ways of life on the ape planet.

The writer of the movie introduces the audience to a shocking scenario; a scenario where apes are more intelligent than human beings. Humans on the other side have devolved and they are ruled by the apes. In the ape planet, the human is less powerful compared to the ape. The apes are more advanced to an extent of having education institutions on their planet. The human beings are servant and slaves to the apes. The film’s plot interchanges events and exaggerates some. In real life, slavery is a past tense. There are no countries or societies that practice human slavery openly. However, in the film the ape society uses the human beings as slaves and servants.

Taylor is in the company of three of his fellow astronauts. The three are on a mission to explore a new planet. One of the astronauts dies in the space but the rest crush with the space ship. After crushing and escaping with minor injuries, the three start looking for help. The three are shocked by the state of the planet (Poland, 2015). The planet has a lot of similarities with the earth. To their surprise, the planet is inhabited. One of the most shocking scenarios in the film that the producer brings to the attention of the viewers is the inhabitation of the planet. In the process of looking for a safer place, the three astronauts come across apes. One of the most shocking events is when they realize that the apes are more intelligent and civilized. One of the astronauts is shot dead by the apes and the rest are taken into the custody of the apes. At this point, Taylor is more confused than worried. The events that are taking place seem like a dream to him. The apes are more advanced technologically but the human beings on the planet are not.

Aesthetic choices

The makers of the “planet of the apes” ensured that the movie is appealing and relates to the events that take place. The lighting of the film has been made perfect. It is easier to differentiate the events that take place at night and the events that take place during the day because of the equal distribution of light (Ward, 2003). To show how the apes are advanced technologically, the producer has ensured that the streets in the movie are well lighted up. When it comes to the scenes in the jungle and wilderness the producer ensures that little light is used so as to create a sense of reality in the scene.

The sound used in the film helps to prepare the audience for the next scene, by listening to the sound; it is easier for the viewer to predict what is likely to take place in the movie. One of the areas that the producers and the directors perfected on is costuming the apes. If one was to assume that he or she did not know that the movie was fictional; it would be easy for such a person to be convinced that the apes are real. The make-up used on the characters is astonishing (Kaye, 2014).

One of the reasons why some people would not sit to watch a fictional movie is because there are a lot of loopholes left in convincing the viewer that what he is watching is real. The ape characters have been dressed in a way that they resemble the apes from how they walk to how they look. The producer took a lot of different shots in the film so as to attract the undivided attention of the viewer. Most of the scenes do not take a lot of time and he has also ensured that the camera shots are taken from different angles so as to give the viewer a closer view of each and every scene in the movie.

Social and personal impact

Besides entertaining, the film impacted the society in different ways. The film brought about curiosity to the society. According to scientists, the earth is the only planet that supports life. Someone coming up with an idea that there might be a planet out there, which supports life and is ruled by apes created curiosity among many members of the society. The film industry is not only used to entertain but also to pass a message to the society. There are people who believe that ideas are always driven by a certain percentage of reality (Mamer, 2013). With such a thought it would not be easy to convince people that the film was just for entertainment purposes. There are those will believe that there might be a possibility of there being a planet that supports life other than the earth. The film has also impacted the manufacturing industry in a big way. Many companies capitalized on the fame of the film and manufactured T-shirts with the characters’ images and the title of the movie on them.

The society affected the film in a big way too. Before the creation of the film, there were books written about the planet of apes. The books gave birth to the production of the film. The reason why the movie was produced was to bring a clear picture of how it would be if there were apes controlling another planet (Kaye, 2014). The writer of the book was curious and to satisfy his curiosity, he decided to plan and write down the events that would take place of there was a planet ruled by apes. The film has left me thinking about the possibility of there being a planet that supports life. The events that take place in the movie left me wondering how it would be to be in such a scenario. We are in a free country and thinking that I would be a slave to an ape is humorous in a way and also shocking.

Analyzing a movie helps one to have a clear understanding of the movie. There are movies that are not easy to understand. Analyzing helps one to gather each and every detail about the movie. By having all the details about a movie, it becomes easy for the viewer to understand the movie better. Analyzing a movie also makes one wiser in selecting a movie to watch in the future (Ward, 2003). By analyzing the movie it is easier for me to choose what to watch and what not to. In the past, choosing a movie to watch was not a big task; I could blindly select a movie and later watch it. Right now I am more informed about the best movies to watch. Film theory and criticism help me to analyze a movie and know more about how the events in the movie relate to the theme and the plot of the movie.

Movies have an impact on the society. The impact might be positive or negative depending on the type of the movie. There are movies that do not only entertain but also create employment. The release of “The planet of the apes” employed a lot of young men. The movie was on demand and to meet the demand of a lot of people had to be involved (Ward, 2003). The manufacturing companies, on the other hand, capitalized on the fame of the movie by printing clothes with the characters’ images and names.

Movies can also have a negative impact on the society, there are scenes that might be disturbing in a movie and such scenes might cause distress among the members of the society. Films that are against some cultures can also affect the society negatively. I have developed a number of skills in the process of analyzing the movie. I have improved on the decision-making process. I can now make wise decisions by analyzing situations before reaching to a conclusion. Gathering information about a film calls for patience I have learned to be patient in each and everything I do till I get satisfactory results.
