DNP- Translational Research And Evidence-Based Practice
Introduction to the Literature Review
Empirical research is the foundation of scholarly research and scholarly writing. An empirical article is defined as one that reports actual results of a research study. An empirical article includes a description of the study, an introduction, a research question, an explanation of the study’s methodology, a presentation of the results of the study, and a conclusion that discusses the results and suggests topics for further study.
As you search the library for scholarly research, you should limit your search to identify empirical articles. (You can use the “Empirical Research Checklist” from DNP-801 to assist in this determination.) After finding an empirical study, begin to assess the validity of the conclusion by determining if the conclusion answers the proposed research question and if the methodology is appropriate.
As you move forward in your doctoral journey, you will read research papers that will require you to assess the validity of the studies in question. To accomplish this, qualitative assessments about the research must be made by comparing, contrasting, and synthesizing what the research says.
In this assignment, you will continue to develop the skill of writing, by reviewing 15 research articles associated with your chosen topic and using the content to identify at least five major concepts and subthemes related to your topic.
General Requirements:
Use the following information to ensure successful completion of this assignment:
· Use the “Empirical Research Checklist” to assist in the determination of empirical articles.
· Use the “Research Article Chart” to provide a summary review of each component of your assignment.
· Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments.
· This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.

MY PICOT QUESTION: What is the Impact of Medication Administration Errors on 3-4-Year-old Leukemia Patients?
Part 1: Selection of 15 Articles
Select 15 empirical articles related to your PICOT question. Use the “Empirical Research Checklist” worksheet to ensure that each article you select meets all of the established criteria. At least one article must demonstrate a quantitative methodology.
Part 2: Research Article Chart
Using the articles acquired in Part 1, provide a summary review of each component using the “Research Article Chart” template.
Part 3: Synthesis of Research Studies
Based upon your review of the 15 research articles, identify at least five major concepts that relate to your project topic, and three subthemes related to each concept.
Using the information from the completed “Research Article Chart,” and the major concepts and subthemes you have identified, write a 2,000-3,000 word paper that synthesizes the content of the 15 research studies.
Summarize each major concept and focus on providing a detailed synthesis of the three identified subthemes that support that concept by addressing the following.
1. Introduction of the identified subtheme
2. Summary of the research questions posed by the studies
3. Summary of the sample populations used
4. Summary of the limitations of the studies
5. Summary of the conclusion and recommendations for further research
Complete the Unit 9 Assignment: Writing an FBA Report
The culmination of the functional behavior assessment (FBA) process is an FBA report. The report captures important details of the process, summarizes the data collected, and provides a summary statement regarding the possible function(s) that may be maintaining the target behavior. For this assignment you will write an FBA report.
You will begin by describing a hypothetical case where you would conduct an FBA (identifying information, reason for referral, and background information). Next, plan out the FBA using direct and indirect measures of behavior. You may present the results of the FBA in table format, but make sure to discuss your interpretation of the data in the report and include a summary statement (refer to O’Neill et al. text).
Continue by experimentally testing your hypotheses (summary statement of the FBA) and conducting a functional analysis (FA) to identify the causes of problem behavior. Make sure to include the five (5) functional analysis conditions discussed in the unit readings. Include a multielement research design to test the five conditions. Provide an interpretation of the data for the functional analysis. In your report include the following sections:
- Identifying information (discuss hypothetical scenario here)
- Reason for referral (discuss hypothetical scenario here)
- Background information (discuss hypothetical scenario here)
- Assessment procedures
- Description of assessments such as – indirect measures, direct descriptive, functional analysis, preference assessments, and reinforcer assessments
- Assessment results to include – interfering behaviors, antecedent variables (SD’s/MO’s), consequence variables, parameters of reinforcement
- Hypothesized functions of target behavior – summary statement
- Interpretation of data
- Recommendations for behavior change plans
- Signature, title, and date
Your Assignment should be typed in a Word document, single-spaced in 12-point font, with a length of 6–8 typed pages. The report will not conform to APA style parameters as it is intended for consumer use. You may refer to the sample report located in Course Documents as a guide in writing the FBA report or you may create one to meet the assignment rubric and requirements.

Benchmark – Personality Assessments
There are several personality inventories. Some examples are the Predictive Index, Myers-Briggs, and the Kiersey Termperament Sorter. (Note: this is not a comprehensive list.) Understanding the value of these measures for screening and assessment in hiring decisions is of the upmost importance. For this assignment, you will analyze two personality inventories used in human resources and industrial/organizational psychology. The analysis will include: title, author and publisher, theoretical foundation of the test; a description of each test content, purpose, structure, administration, and scoring guidelines; an evaluation of the reliability and validity of each test; a critique of the strengths and weaknesses of using each test in an applied setting; and an analysis of the multicultural application of each test. Frame your answer from a theoretical perspective. Lastly, determine the impact personality assessment has for the individual and group to improve organizational performance.
General Requirements:
Use the following information to ensure successful completion of the assignment:
· This assignment uses a rubric. Please review the rubric prior to beginning the assignment to become familiar with the expectations for successful completion.
· Doctoral learners are required to use APA style for their writing assignments.
Directions:
Write an essay (1,750-2,000 words) in which you will analyze two personality inventories. Be sure to address the following:
1. Critically evaluate two personality inventories.
2. Develop an empirical examination theoretical foundation for each inventory.
3. Assess each personality inventory for reliability and validity.
4. Evaluate the applied use as well as multicultural use of each inventory.
5. Evaluate the impact personality assessment has for the individual and group to improve organizational performance.
