I have noticed (2)
I have noticed a close relationship between stress and the functioning of my immune system. Stress can affect your immune system and make it harder for you to fight off colds, flu, infections, or even cancer. It may also cause irritable bowel syndrome or ulcers.
Stress is a normal part of our lives but if it goes on for too long it can affect how well our bodies work. That’s why we need to take steps to manage stress in our lives on a day-to-day basis – through exercising, yoga and meditation – as well as using things like lavender oil and other essential oils that have calming effects. When we do this the risk of getting sick is much lower because the immune system has more time to deal with outside “threats”.Stress tend to worsen the health of people with AIDS, Cancer, and Cardiovascular disease. Millions of dollars are made from the sale of stress reducing medications; these drugs have no effect on the incidence of these illnesses. A study was conducted to assess whether a single session of stress-reducing meditation can reduce the effects of stress on blood pressure in patients with AIDS, Cancer and Cardiovascular disease.
A recent meta-analysis reviewed 13 randomized trials that compared more than 1,000 individuals with each illness who attended a standardized eight-week program that included meditative techniques to those who attended standard medical care.
The potential causes of acute and chronic pain, from the most common to the least, are as follows:
– Pain can be a symptom of a disease such as diabetes, hypertension, or arthritis.
– Pain may also be a side effect of medications such as aspirin, ibuprofen (Advil), and blood pressure medication.
– Muscle cramps are often due to dehydration according to WebMD. A cramp causes pain and tightness in the muscle caused by excessive contraction that resulting in fatigue.
WebMD recommends drinking plenty of water throughout the day especially before workouts which can cause cramping.
Acute and chronic pain tend to differ in their root cause, symptoms, and severity. Acute pain is pain that only lasts for a few days or weeks, while chronic pain is classified by the National Cancer Institute as “pain that persists for more than 3 to 6 months and beyond the usual course of an acute disease or healing of an injury.”
Acute and chronic pain differ in their intensity and duration. Acute pain will last shorter periods than chronic pain which can last months or years. Acute pain can be mild and tolerable while chronic pain is intense and hard to tolerate in most situations. Pain level may vary with different types of acute and chronic pains even though they are both prescribed around the same intensity level.

Introduction
The federal government is undoubtedly one of the most fundamental pillars of the United States. It is made up of the legislature, the executive and the judicially, all of which derive their powers and authority from the constitution, as well as the varied acts of the congress. Needless to say, the authority of the federal government has been expanding since time immemorial, so as to meet the dynamics of the society that it served or serves. The expansion of the federal authority can be seen in varied events pertaining to the Civil War, Reconstruction, the Progressive Era, the Great Depression, and the Civil Rights Era. Since the federal government derives its authority from the constitution, the expansion of its authority in the varied eras came through constitutional amendments.
One of the most fundamental expansions of the federal authority revolved around the 1865 Thirteenth Amendment, which underlined the abolishment of slavery, as well as the authorization of congress to make legislation enforcing the abolition. The 13th Amendment made the Emancipation Proclamation a law. This most crucial political aspect of this amendment rests on its second part, which granted the United States’ congress powers to make legislation enforcing it (Piven, 2006). It is worth noting that the Supreme Court had previously opined that the Congress was deficient of powers of controlling slavery. This amendment, however, gave the congress this power, thereby allowing it to deal with the ten confederate states that rebelled at that time. The social aspects of this amendment revolve around the depiction of the incorporation of full civil rights. It exposed the discrepancy that existed between the laws of the land and the public opinion (Piven, 2006). As much as the slaves and their descendants could have or were entitled to the same rights as their white counterparts according to the law, they still underwent a different treatment until the coming of the civil right movement (Piven, 2006). On the same note, there 13th Amendment came with some economic implications especially considering that the agricultural businesses had to modify their manner of functioning due to the elimination of slave labor. The profit margins declined despite the low wages as the former slaves now could start their own enterprises or seek better opportunities elsewhere.
In addition, the federal government’s authority was considerably increased in 1913 by the Sixteenth Amendment. This amendment authorized the federal government to keep unallocated taxes instead of subdividing the taxes among the states as outlined in the constitution. The economic implications of this amendment were extremely pronounced thanks to the banking laws whose introductions allowed individuals to evade taxes legally through varied strategies including government bonds, retirement accounts, as well as medical savings accounts. On the same note, the amendment triggered some social changes thanks to the economic changes. In an effort to avoid paying taxes, people made some modifications on their spending habits and sought ways of sheltering their money (Piven, 2006). It is worth noting that the amendment also triggered the development of movements that questioned government expenditure and allocation of resources, with the Sixteenth Amendment being responsible for the enhanced quality of life. The expanded federal government authority had implications on the political structures as it gave the federal government powers that it did not have, something that negated the ruling of the Supreme Court (Piven, 2006). In fact, the amendment is credited with allowing the Internal Revenue Service to increase its staff over the subsequent years.
In conclusion, federal government has been a fundamental pillar of the United States. It has been deriving its authority from the constitution and the acts of congress. Over time, it has been expanding its authority to meet the dynamics of the day, with the expansion coming mainly from constitutional amendments. One of the most crucial instances where the federal government had its authority expanded was the enactment of 13th Amendment, which abolished slave trade. This gave congress powers to make legislation on the same, authority it didn’t have. It also affected production as slave labor reduced considerably, and exposed the discrepancies between the law and the realities on how slaves were treated. In addition, the federal government expanded its authority through the 16th Amendment of 1913, which allowed it to keep taxes instead of subdividing them among the states. This allowed individuals and corporate to come up with legal methods of avoiding taxes. It also altered spending habits of individuals, and had the political implication of giving the federal government powers it did not have. It led to the expansion of Internal Revenue Service staff over the years.

In his speech Martin Luther king junior states that it is time for the black people in America to make their impact felt and that they needed to be able to present these issues in the best manner possible so that the white man in his lack of interest and lack of approval that the blacks deserve the justice that he realizes that he is doing wrong. This speech is given to the black people and it urges them primarily to deviate from purchasing products from those companies which were against black people. Along with this primary issue presented there are other secondary issues presented to make his point stronger. At the end of the speech, martin Luther talks of a very important experience and finalizes his speech with the statement that he has seen a good future for the American black folk. Therefore he states that he was happy he did not sneeze but that night he was ready for anything because even though he was not to get into Canaan with them he had seen it and he knew its true. He uses several rhetorical devices like logos, pathos, and ethos to bring out his point.
Martin Luther king junior had been leading demonstrations and other kinds of events in the United States which were against the nature and the will of the whites to look down upon the black population. The whites had always segregated the black people and it was difficult for the black people to get justice even after so many efforts by different people to make sure that the people of color got what they needed. Therefore this meant that even though they were from the same country and they were supposed to live together as one this did not happen. The whites always viewed black people like those people who were not supposed to get the basic things of life. This can allude to the fact that the black population was a rising group and it has originated from the slaves after the abolition of slaves. Most of the whites were very much racist and they did not even the black people within their neighborhoods. In some other places like Alabama even the black people were not allowed to get into public transport and it was difficult for them (king, 03).
Therefore the history of slavery coupled with the extreme racism was very bad to the black population and it made them suffer so much. It was the aim of martin Luther king junior to end this kind of treatment to the black people and make sure that they were treated better and not as the whites wanted. Martin believed that all people were the same and that everyone was a child of God as everyone was created in an equal manner. Therefore the manner of treatment of the black people did not only hurt the black people but also hurt God and therefore in his speech, there is a lot of biblical allusions.
The audience of this speech can be said to be people who support black people’s liberation from discrimination. The fact that this speech was primarily addressed to the black people means that the same group of black people in America are the greatest audience and therefore this speech is supposed to make them stronger and able them to persevere through everything knowing at the end there will be a triumph.
Martin Luther King uses different ways to persuade and to give the people assurance that there is a better tomorrow. He stresses the issue of collectiveness and how they are powerful when they come together (king, 04). Through logos, he convinces the black population that when they withdraw from purchasing items from the shops of the whites then the white people will suffer and will be able to treat them better. This logic is very important for the black people to understand if they were to succeed in their desire and their activity of making sure that their voices were heard and that they got better in terms of their living standards (King, 06). He uses pathos whereby he addresses their emotions by telling them to be together. The conviction that when the black people come together they are going to achieve something big is very important for them to carry out with the mission they have (king, 02). His story of King is almost assassinated by a woman when he went to print his book makes his speech credible and therefore the people can trust him and this makes them even want to go against what the whites wanted and make sure there is a balance between them the whites and the blacks.
Therefore in conclusion this is a very strong and important speech that moved a lot of black people into peaceful demonstrations which to a big extent affected how they were treated by the whites.
