How does a corporation determine which direction they will take in the marketplace?
A corporation determines which direction to take in the market place through intensive market research. Market research involves an extensive analysis of the current events in business. Most of the activities are directed to the growth and sustainability of the economy. A corporation thus has to establish its significance to the business environment so as to be successful. For this to be effective a corporation has to compare their goods and services with their competitors. This provides feedback on their position in the marketplace. The corporation should further conduct a survey on the clientele they intend to reach. This would ensure that the corporation selects the most suitable form of marketing to partake. When establishments carry out a thorough market research procedure, they become equip with the right tolls to take on the new marketplace (Horwath, 2009).
The significance of mission vision and value statements and their impact on decision making at a corporation
The mission vision and value statement are vital elements in the in any corporation. A corporation needs to come up with an effective mission, vision and value statement so as to act as a blueprint for the functions of the company. Mission statements declare the intensions of the corporation in terms of the type service they would like to provide to their clientele. A vision statement provides the goals set for the future of the company in relation to their customers. A vision statement should reflect on the current goods and services the corporation stands for. The value statement displays the business values and principles that the company follows when conducting business. It also ensures that the business maintains the rules that are put forward by the authorities in the internal and external environment (Horwath, 2009).
Why is it essential to know the mission, vision and value statements?
It is essential to know vision, mission and value statement of a corporation so as to know their stance. A mission, vision and value statement guide the clients on the type of company they are working with. It displays the future plans of the business thus affirming their reliability in the market place. The statements also account of the credibility of the goods and services the business provides for its clients. It is thus ideal to learn about the three elements so as to learn more about the company in question (Horwath, 2009).
How do you know when to move from a strict entrepreneurial environment to a more mature formal state?
The move from a strict environment to a more mature formal state is an essential part of running an organization. A strict environment controls the activities of a business in terms of investment. This is due to the rules and regulations that are presented in this situation. One of the ways of solving these issues is by changing the environment that the society operates their business. A mature business environment creates a situation where a corporation can observe free trade. This removes all the bureaucracy that is experienced in a strict entrepreneurial environment. A company knows when to move to a new environment when its business transactions do not move smoothly. This is brought about by the competition from competing business, losses and lack of clientele in the market environment. This should be finalized by the conduction of market research so as to ensure that there is no alternative to the move of the organization (Horwath, 2009).

How do you feel when you have to make a presentation (How Good Are Your Presentation Skills Understanding Your Impact, 2019)
How do you feel when you have to make a presentation? (“How Good Are Your Presentation Skills?: Understanding Your Impact”, 2019)
Making a presentation is a requirement either in school and times it is a strategy used for reporting in jobs. It is not an easy task for everyone. The thought of standing on the podium to explain something for everyone to understand frightens me. The heart pounds too fast because of the worry of not presenting as expected or not giving the desired effect to the audience. However, the feeling diminishes whenever I get to the podium. A deep breath before I start lets out all the fear and confidence get in. At this time, I compose myself and give the presentation confidently just as required.
The characteristics of a good presentation
First, a presentation should be brief. Briefness refers to a concise and precise content delivered in the presentation. The content given should be concise to ensure effectiveness. Briefness also ensures the audience remain focused and concentrate on the period of the presentation. It also provides an unforgettable experience and ideas for the audience to interpret and analyze.
Secondly, the presentation should be engaging in that the presentation should be motivating the audience to keep listening and take part in it. It is a way to keep them focused on the topic and contents of discussion in the presentation. Lack of engagement makes the individuals feel distant and lose track of the flow of information, which leads to failure in understanding the ideas. Participation requires the presenter to be happy and have a purpose that must be recognized by the audience to attract their attention and involve them in the presentation.
Thirdly, a visually rich presentation is more appealing and captures audience attention (Moulton, Turkay & Kosslyn, 2017). Visually rich means that the slides should be in point or bullet form for ease of reading. Too wordy slides make the audience read too much hence not concentrating on the texts and fail to listen to the explanations. The visual strength should also be quality, in that, the slides should be displaying its contents in large font, and the lighting be convenient for everyone; not too bright and not too dim.
Fourthly, effectivity is vital in presentations. Effective refers to the intention of the presenter to achieve a specific result. Effectivity is achieved through the structure of the presentation. The way a presenter introduces the presentation, either draws the audience away or attracts them to listen attentively. After the introduction, a display of points follows based on a sequence that depicts the flow of information. The conclusion reminds the audience of the presentation contents and instructs actions or discussions to take in the future.

Last semester I observed a change in my roommate’s sleeping patterns where they developed Excessive Daytime Sleepiness (EDS). EDS is an augmented desire to sleep during the day or trouble remaining awake or alert during the daytime, and its most common cause is sleep deprivation (Brown & Makker, 2020). This followed after my roommates developed an increased utilization of social media and the internet. Since I knew sleep deprivation causes EDS, I decided to conduct research to find out whether increased utilization of internet and social media causes sleep deprivation. The hypothesis of the study was as follows:
Hypothesis: Increased utilization of internet and social media causes sleep deprivation.
The dependent variable will be sleep deprivation, while the independent variable will be utilization of social media and internet. To test the hypothesis, I will use an experimental research design. To test the hypothesis, I will recruit college students, specifically my peers, as the research subjects. Social media and internet use will b a ratio variable. I will manipulate the total time of social media and internet use by assigning subjects into two groups, excessive utilization of social media and the internet and moderate/acceptable utilization of social media and the internet. To assign subjects to groups, a random assignment will be used. Random assignment is the procedure of randomly assigning research participants to experimental and control groups. This approach will be preferred to ensure that the two groups are similar to each other.
I will randomly select ten participants for the excessive utilization of social media and the internet and ten participants for the acceptable use of social media and the internet. In the excessive use of social media groups, participants will be asked to use social media and the internet up to at least 12 midnight. Since most college students are known to utilize social media and the internet until late hours, for the control condition, that is the moderate use of social media and internet use; participants will be allowed to use social media and the internet up to 8 PM latest. Sleep deprivation will be measured using the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (ESS). The ESS is frequently employed in the field of sleep medicine. The test asks you to score your propensity to doze off in a series of eight situations on a scale from 0 (no likelihood of dozing off) to 3 (high chance of dozing off). Since I will not be conducting a correlational study, I will not measure or control for any variable. Participants will then rate their likeliness to doze off, which will indicate their likelihood of being deprived of sleep.
It is expected that increased social media and internet use will result in sleep deprivation. This is because related studies have shown that increased use of social media and the internet is associated with EDS and insomnia, which are caused by sleep deprivation (Bhat et al., 2018). If results show that increased use of social media and the internet causes sleep deprivation, this means that we will accept the hypothesis of the study and conclude that increased social media and internet use cause sleep deprivation. The findings of the study will add to the scope of literature relating to the effects of increased social media and internet use.
