Core Writing Assignment
Write a formal business letter to me describing the math skills that you had acquired prior to taking this course and how they are helping you to succeed in your current course now. Describe math skills in your background that were lacking. Describe the skills which you have obtained that you will use in other classes, in your workplace, and in your life, in general.
Your letter should be a minimum of 500 words.
Your letter should be prepared using Microsoft Word or in Rich Text Format and the spelling and grammar checks should be used. You should also carefully proofread your letter to find errors that the software will not correct. You should use either Times New Roman or Arial font size 11-12 and your response should be single spaced. If you do not have a home computer or a program that will produce the correct format, computers with Microsoft Word are available in the Cyber Lab (A-173) or the Learning Lab (A-204B). If you are unable to come to the campus, most public libraries have computers with a word processing program that will produce the required format.
Your letter should be prepared in paragraph form. The paper should have an introduction that includes a topic sentence and paragraphs that elaborate different points in support of the topic. Your paper should also have a concluding paragraph that summarizes the topic. Please be sure that you address all parts of the prompt.
If you use ideas or words from your textbook, be sure to provide the appropriate citation to avoid plagiarism. MLA format should be used to cite references within the text and on the Works Cited page. It is not necessary to use references other than the textbook for this assignment. If you are not sure what constitutes plagiarism, there is link on the ACC library homepage and also one in MyBlackboard under Web Links that explains what plagiarism is and how to avoid it. The plagiarism site also provides some basic information about MLA format. There is another web link in MyBlackboard to an MLA site with basics of MLA formatting. Any obvious cheating or plagiarism meant to mislead me will result in a failing grade for the assignment, an academic dishonesty sanction and the possibility of failing the course. Keep in mind that “good faith” paraphrasing with documentation, even if you aren’t very good at it, will not cause you to fail. It is sometimes difficult to put information into your own words. If you use words directly from the textbook, use quotation marks.

the project will explore and offer solution to the issue by first creating the right outlook. To achieve this
the project will address the matters of resource shortage among the street children agencies and welfare groups in the region. The approach will help digest the issue by laying the right outlook on the intensity of the matter. More efforts will be given to the information gathering where different sources of data will be used. The main source of this information will come from the database on Texas social welfare and government data. The reliability of this type of information will be of great importance to ensure that the steps taken in the project are viable.

Declaration of Causes
The government of United States declared Texas a free sovereign and independent state. Following December 1845 the state was acknowledged officially into the conferential union. Acceptance and strong ties with commonwealth were enhanced by its geographical position and associations such as Negro slavery. The federal government has administered the various and pretenses to exclude civilians or the southern states from the territories owned by the states in the Pacific Ocean. The infamous combinations of incendiaries and outlaws have been permitted in the Northern States and Kansas territory to trample upon law and war upon the property and live of southern citizens. Harassment and insecurity have been experienced due to the federal government failed to protect people and property. The secession of six of slave-holding states Texas had to quit from North or join hands with the Southern states.
The Pullman Boycott
Pullman company’s receipts fell drastically as a result of drying up of the outside orders. The manager, George Pullman directly responded by changing the program, reducing working hours and cutting wages. Employees claimed that wages were cut large percentage, but policies, as well as shares increment, approved this. Rise on the rent made the residents suffer and incur a significant challenge in providing families’ basic needs. The Eugene V. Debs’s Railway Union brought hopes to the discouraged Pullman’s workers. After the failure of Debs seeking convention with Pullman’s company, the case was taken to the court where the Attorney general condemned boycotting. Debs reacted bitterly towards court’s opinion and declared that sympathy towards Pullman workers was the cause of the crime of American Railway Union.
The Republican National Convention
In 1896, Republicans entered the campaign with high hopes of winning and ready to appeal return of Republican prosperity. McKinley was the famous contester of the party who had big hopes of having the victory over the presidential seat. The proper management of the party by Marcus Hanna facilitated the success of the party during the nominations. He is an advanced and industrious strategist who had a good relationship with the workers and a dealer in the coal and iron industries. The party attracted many followers from their promising manifestos regarding maintenance of gold standard as well as high protective tariffs to promote and protect employment and salaries. McKinley’s death was a disappointment to Mark Hanna he was the most malicious, carnal, and inexorable autocrat of labor and crusher of its organizations in existence.
Frederick Jackson Turner
Jackson Turner played a significant role if in the establishment of the foundation for the modern history of American study and presented a leading edge thesis. He contributed by arguing that frontier past elaborate the best distinguishing United States history. He was successful through the use of appropriate strategies for providing his thesis as analysis and warning to the future. However, his frontier thesis had ignored the Indian people who were part of the United States nation. Critics have aroused on further analysis finding turner’s thesis uncertain due to its application to many different places and eras to be useful. Turner’s followers accuse the opponents of misleading an unsophisticated political precision for excellent scholarship in their mission to second opinion only the fate and pessimism of the Western historical.
