Remember to use the first person when explaining your reasoning. Use words as “my personal journey”, “my experience”, “I have found that”, and so on. Give personal examples where necessary.
In few sentences, can you tell us what your study is all about?
To answer this question, you need to know every detail of your research project from chapters one to the end. The question needs an answer in form of a summary of the entire study, therefore, to ace this particular question you need to know every detail in your abstract. Recite a few key lines from the abstract if this question is asked.
This research firstly, seeks to explore if including tourism and cultural studies lessons in Lebanese secondary school curricula will lead to youngsters paying more attention to tourism in the future. As a result, we question ourselves, “Do we want this to change?” Isn’t it time for youths to get more involved in civic education and tourism? This research, through its scope, sets to assess the current situation in valorizing Lebanon’s natural and cultural resources and to see how the Lebanese Secondary students and its youth in general, from both technical and academic levels see their importance, especially after the economic crisis Lebanon faced.
What is your motivation for this study?
This question can be very tricky and it goes a long way in convincing your panel members that your study is worth their time. Another way this question could be twisted is WHAT IS THE RESEARCH PROBLEM? To answer this question, you may decide to elaborate on the problem investigated in the study.
Education is a potent instrument that a nation may use to exert influence over subsequent generations. This is because the success or failure of any tourist education study is dependent on whether or not the authorities are willing to consider changing the system (Airey & Tribe, 2006). As a consequence of this, we have an urgent and critical need for young people to be the guardians of Lebanon, while also training them to concentrate on getting a good education in order to lessen the influence of the oligarchy and accomplish great things in terms of long-term sustainability, tourism, and economic growth, with the primary emphasis still being on Lebanon.
Did you bridge any gap from your study?
Every research study must have a problem. Your ability to solve this problem and explore into areas not yet researched on gives you the full marks allocated for answering this question. You must be able to convince the committee members that your approach is unique and it has covered areas where much have not been done by other researchers.
It is necessary to incorporate civic education and tourism classes into secondary education programs so that we, as educators, can raise awareness among our students about the bleak future that awaits them if Lebanon continues to exist in its current state. Because of this, there is a strong desire to protect the tourist sector via the promotion of sustainable tourism growth (Shunnaq et al., 2008). Therefore, developing nations that have a solid resource base consisting of unspoiled natural and cultural richness have a significant competitive edge in their potential to attract visitors who are looking for one-of-a-kind new experiences all over the globe.
Why this topic and what does it mean to you?
This question wants you to expound on the purpose of the study.
The goal of this study is to ascertain whether or not including cultural tourism and civic education in the curricula of secondary schools will increase the students’ interest in the tourism industry. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to determine whether or not incorporating tourism education into secondary school curricula will increase these students’ interest in the tourism industry. This is important because it is anticipated that in the not-too-distant future, sustainable tourism and eco-tourism will be the way in which the industry should orient itself after the pandemic.
Significance of the study
Just like stating how your study will contribute to the body of knowledge, you will need to state the importance of your study. To answer this question, you will need to highlight how your study will aid the government in policy development and implementation, how it will help other students who may wish to conduct research studies on the subject matter and how organizations and the society will benefit from your study.
In light of research carried out by Fidgeon (2010), Li (2013), Gould (2018), and Bou Melhem, this study is directed for all parties that may be possibly interested in the tourist business, as well as educators and young people who would benefit from a richer curriculum that adds value to cultural heritage.
Methodology chosen and justification?
To answer this question, you must be familiar with your research methodology. Your chapter three must be at your fingertips. Your ability to justify your sample size and technique will be highly rewarded here.
Based on the aforementioned, we chose action research, which is a mixed-methods approach requiring data gathering methodologies from both interviews and structured surveys, in that sequence. Both Creswell (2012) and Saunders et al. (2019) concur that these are instances of mixed-methods approaches, which is why we ultimately opted to adopt it. I will be using this technique since surveying is a strategy that is used in both numerical and non-numerical research. Since I need to find a solution to this problem, pragmatism requires that I do action research, as Creswell pointed out. The aforementioned research strategy necessitates the employment of sequential exploratory techniques, which are among the most valuable tools applicable to action research. The study starts with interviews and then continues on to surveys; in this section, the researcher will describe the participants, instruments, ethical procedures, validity and reliability of each technique used. The study starts with interviews, followed by questionnaires. As the research shifted toward a hybrid technique, two distinct procedures were combined (mono means single methods, irrespective if mono quantitative, or mono qualitative). For the purpose of clarity, the research will not use multimethods, which would include using two or more qualitative or quantitative methodologies. In accordance with Saunders et al. (2019), thus, basic mixed techniques were used. This is due to the combination of two distinct methodologies, namely interviews and surveys, with the study starting with interviews and concluding with surveys. In the next three subsections, the researcher will describe how he intends to conduct his study in terms of tools, participants, and ethical standards.
Principle of Sociology, Famine and hunger are caused by both natural and social forces
Principle of Sociology
Famine and hunger are caused by both natural and social forces. What are some of the social forces that cause hunger, malnutrition, and starvation?
Famine is death, hunger and starvation that people experience as a result of several issues in the society. Drought can be one of the causes, but the reason as to why drought does not necessarily lead to famine in most countries is due to the social norms, beliefs and the culture of the people. Some of these social factors include:
Food culture – the belief that some plants or animals should not be eaten can make people die of hunger. For instance in most of the nomadic pastoralists in Africa, they will die of hunger but cannot slaughter their animals for food as it is against their beliefs.
Lifestyle – the belief that people were meant to live in a particular way. This makes people not change in an effort to adapt to change in climatic conditions. Also increase in population means that resources are rapidly depleted and food becomes scarce.
Political control and lack of democracy – in order to easily control people, some leaders believe in hoarding the basic needs and making the general population weak and they give in to the leader not by choice but because of desperation.
Using the !Kung of the Kalahari Desert, the Bacha posh in Afghanistan, and the Nádleehí in Navajo culture as support, discuss how gender can be seen as a social construction
Social construction of gender means that the roles assigned to the different sexes is attributed to the social beliefs of the individuals of the different sexes. Gender is a relative term and is subject to the social environment of the participants.
Gender roles are predetermined in the above mentioned cultures. The women are expected to have a lower social status as compared to men however women are expected to be sexually active than men upon reaching puberty. Men are assigned roles that are physically more demanding while women are expected to be more subtle and submissive. Marriage is expected to be made to last by the women. In a nutshell gender roles are dependent on the social cultural believes and activities of the people.
What is the difference between prejudice and discrimination? Is discrimination always preceded by prejudice?
Prejudice is basically when an individual has a wrong attitude and impression about something or someone else based on some preset believes or ideologies. It is based on the affiliation of the other person to a certain social group in the society. Discrimination on the other hand is the negative actions that are deliberately directed towards another person due to their association to a social group in the society.
Prejudice does not have to be negative at all times, but discrimination is a negative at all times but both mean that there is no equal view on the issues at hand. Prejudice has to precede discrimination: the thought always precedes the action. In order for a person to discriminate against another person on the basis of association to certain social groups there must be some negative thoughts that they have against the person.
Discuss the differences in family patterns between white and black families. Discuss the research of Carol Stack in your answer.
According to Carol Stack research entitled All Our Kin: she determined the differences between the family structure and functioning in the different races more so between the Black and White. Prior to her study, there was the belief that the only reason that black families are poor is because they are caught up in a vicious cycle of poverty that they have no motivation of breaking. But according to Stack the only difference between the white and black families is not the structure and the relationships, it is the external conditions that the families face and their strain on the families.
There is an economic need to ensure that the urban areas have a low income population so that they can offer the required manual labour. For this reasons external forces circumscribe the economic conditions of the black families. This makes for there to be more single parent families, less family time, more responsibility and sacrifice by the children and less attention from the parents. As compared to the white families, that have a lot of time and resources that can afford them holidays and attention to each other. The structures of the black and white families are the same, however the dynamics of the family are influenced by the external factors that limit opportunities for the black families and have the opposite effect on the white families.
How is religion connected to both violence and social change?
Religion is based on faith, which is a strong belief in an omnipresent being that controls the universe. Faith most of the times is unchangeable and can make people to be easily offended. It promises a better life after the current life and for this people will fight because they believe in it. Looking back at history, the first crusade was based on an army of Christians who wanted to kill non Christian believer because they were believed to be sinners and against the teachings of the gospel.
Religion dictates the culture of a community, at the heart of any community is religion. When religion changes, there are definite social changes. For instance during the 19th C before the colonization of Africa by the Portuguese who were the first to introduce Christianity. The religion of the African people comprised of worshipping under trees. Making sacrifices of livestock and even worshipping different gods like the rain god and fertility goddess. When Christianity was introduced the African societies changed. They believed in one God and in Jesus, some cultures were eradicated like female circumcision, early marriages, polygamy and slave trade. Religion was able to change the society because it changed the beliefs of the people as to what is acceptable and what is not.

Top Five Values
Values are the fundamental beliefs of a person. These principles denote the magnitude of the significance of something, aiming to ascertain the best actions and the best way to live. On such, values dictate behavior and serves to assist individuals in learning the difference between what is vice or virtue. In other words, values are essential in the way people live their day-to-day lives. This paper will address my top five values, and more importantly, how they impacted my life. My five values are commitment, courage, empathy, honesty, and generosity.
Commitment is one of the values that I learned since I was young. My parents emphasized that I should be committed to whatever I felt it was working for me and would have made my life better. I learned that it is only through commitment; I was willing to sacrifice and move away from my comfort zone. Since I was young, it has not been my thing to concentrate so much on schoolwork. However, my career needed at least getting a formal education. I had to dedicate myself to learning to achieve what I have now. For sure, if I had failed to commit myself to learn, perhaps I could be in a gruesome situation right now.
Courage is the ability to gain strength in the face of pain or even doing something that frightens you. Growing up, I always witnessed racial discrimination in our town. The whites frequently abused and even killed African Americans. Many people ignored the matter since they feared what might come into their way. Those acts continued even at my workplace, where the manager and other white employees racially decimated blacks. One day, I witnessed my manager insulting my colleague. I could not just sit there and enjoy the show; I stood up for him and confronted the manager and warned those several others who were indecently acting like him. I told him I would file a lawsuit against him because such acts are unacceptable as all people are the same. Indeed, I felt like that was the most courageous thing I have ever done in my life.
In life, it is always a nice thing to show empathy to other people. Through empathy, one can understand and share feelings with other people. Being empathetical means that you know other people’s experiences from within their frame of reference. In our country, the most common problem that faces African American people is racial prejudice. Of course, it feels depressing being discriminated based on your race irrespective of your needs. At least the place I am working, I am working hard to let people know that we are all humans with feelings. There is no superior race, and it always right to consider how other people feel instead of being selfish.
Honesty is another value that I cannot afford to miss. As a moral character, honesty connotes virtues of life attributes such as integrity and truthfulness. Imagine being entrusted to lead a particular organization or department, only to be fired due to your dishonest acts. I have been working for six months at the local restaurant as a cashier. Being honest is something I learned from my parents since I was young. Guest usually leave tips for the waiters at the cashier desk. Being honest is a value that is helping me in my daily job. I have never been attempted to steal tips for my colleagues nor even money belonging to the restaurant.
Generosity comes as my last value in the list. Generosity is the quality of being kind and liberal in giving. In the world we are living today, many people are disadvantaged and the only way to offer them hope for tomorrow is through our generosity. Millions of people across the world sleep hangry while other people are busy wasting food and showing off their wealth. In my life, I have always vowed to help the needy ones no matter how little it can be, to them is significant. On such, I normally buy food and take to homeless people struggling to feed themselves.
The above five values are the most significant in my life. I feel empathy and generosity are the most significant values out the five since they both address the attributes of caring and being compassionate to other people.
