How are you defining success for this program or project?
Initially we are looking at success at how we will reach our objectives as outlined in the proposal . After year, the firm will define success as a continued referral from our partnering organizations Angels (Carlson, O’Neal-McElrath & The Alliance for Nonprofit Management, 2008).This is so as a positive feedback from the community via our formal feedback strategyand incorporation of the project into our operating budget.
Evaluation component
The firm’s formal referral system and feedback strategy will serve a dual pupose for all individuals of Los Angels. This is possible as we will first track all referrals of Los Angels, which services we are able to give out, and where the referrals are coming from. Thereafter, our feedback loop will enable us to be in the position of gathering information concerning members satisfaction with our services (Carlson, O’Neal-McElrath & The Alliance for Nonprofit Management, 2008).This assist us to review our running within every six months of attenting to our patients.
This is of particular importance since one of our objectives with the program is to grow and institutionalize our collective cultural competence. Moreover, we strive to provide medical security for the
individuals of Los Angels in order to make their lives better Angels (Carlson, O’Neal-McElrath & The Alliance for Nonprofit Management, 2008).The satisfaction reports will enable us to fine-tune our outreach and newly developed HIV/AIDS program worth offering to the community.
Concerning issues related to our HIV/AIDS self managent class, we will employ a combination of evaluation tools in order to reach the set trget by the program. We will go to the extent of using pretests and protests with every new client who participates in the class. We will test each individual for HIV/AIDS at the beginning of classes. This issue of monitoring will be done by the nurse who will use safer and modernized equipments to measure it individual. The medical readings will be documented in the client’s file every month for six months Angels (Carlson, O’Neal-McElrath & The Alliance for Nonprofit Management, 2008).This will entail to determine whether participation in the self management classes has an effect on the patients ability to successfully manage their HIV/AIDS status and thereforeeffectively manage their lives.
The firm will go to the extent of using the program to counter all the negative impacts that are degrading the rise of the people of Los Angels. This is so as all parties will be educated on ways of avoiding negative issues thatmight make them caught at wrong palces. This is so as better and cheaper medical apparatus will be availed to them hence reduce the rise of HIV/AIDS. This will be possible due to the presence of a modernized community that will put into practice what they are taught at the classes Angels (Carlson, O’Neal-McElrath & The Alliance for Nonprofit Management, 2008).This will be assesses weekly by the program officer in order to confirm if all is going in the direct direction.
The program officer will also use medical records and interviews to confirm if patients are benefiting from the program. This will lead the program add more strategies in event that the objectives are not being met. Thus, their success will be based on the patients participation and assistance. This is so as the programs objective is to deliver a better and safer atmosphere for all individuals of Los Angels (Carlson, O’Neal-McElrath & The Alliance for Nonprofit Management, 2008). Particularly individuals who are unable to pay for their medical covers and this will be a positive impact for the firm.

Grandma Kurnitz
After losing her two children in the past, grandmother Kurnitz becomes emotionally cold and this has far reaching implications on the relationship with her children and grand children. In particular, this makes her very tough and hard on the same. She raises her children in a harsh manner and seeks to teach them survival techniques. This had far reaching implications on their wellbeing and they develop a negative defense mechanism. In particular, it made Gert develop a breathing problem. She extends this indifference to her grandchildren and often charges Jay for every item that goes missing in her shop. She does this regardless of the fact that she sometimes takes the items.
Eddie Kurnitz
Eddie Kurnitz acquired some debt in the past that was used to clear the hospital bills of his late wife. Thus in the play, he takes his children to stay with their grandmother as he opts to look for a job in the South. Proceeds from this are expected to enable him to repay the debts (Neil 32). Since he believes that it is only by working hard that he can be able to raise enough resources to repay his debt, he does this until he gets himself sick. Meantime, his children have a hard time staying at their grandmother’s place because they do not have anywhere else to stay after the death of their mother. In the long run, he manages to return and takes them with him to the south.
Bella Kurnitz
By telling her mother that she would shower her children with a lot of love during one of the confrontations, Bella implies that before the death of her two siblings, grandma used to shower them with love and appreciation. It is for this reason that she asserts that she would not deny her children love for fear that this could make her loose them and experience heartbreak like the mother. In addition, this can be used to explain why she preferred confiding in Jay and Arty about her love life. Generally, she extends her affection to these children when she stands up for them when her mother initially refuses to house them. Furthermore, she showers them with gifts when their father comes to pick them. It can be speculated that she learnt about this gestures from her mother before the death of her siblings.
Louie Kurnitz
Finally, Louie Kurnitz’s involvement in crime and illegal activities can be argued to prepare him for the military work after he has exited the play. He assumed the position of a henchman for an illegal mob. However, his dealings put him in trouble with the mob and as a result, he is forced to leave town. Before then, he had engaged in other illegal activities in order to earn a living. This was done with the help of his gun that was suspected to be in the mysterious black bag. Notably, this experience hardens him and gives him a chance to learn vital skills. These were fundamental in enabling him to fight in the Guadalcanal battle. The play also portrays him as the toughest of Grandmas children who pursues illicit jobs in order to earn a living. This toughness is inevitably fundamental for survival in the military.

Graham is a fulltime employee at a consultancy company where he has served for seven months. Since getting the job, Graham has impressed his seniors with excellent result where he recently got a promotion as the head in his team. One of Graham’s strengths is that he has been able to create bonds with his colleagues and this has added to his ability to work and deliver good results. Graham’s supervisor has been impressed by his good qualities and ethics that has been growing day by day. To add on this, Graham’s has been able to bring a new taste to the work place where he has inspired other workers to do their best and this has collectively improved the company’s image and results. Graham has always commented positively about the company and realizes that he has to do more to earn more recognition and even promotion. Based on his outlook, Graham understands that his success relies on how he makes his decisions. The force behind his motivation were somehow unfamiliar that gave him sleepless nights in trying to figure out his path in life.
Back in his mind, Graham knew that all he had to do was to figure out what and how to approach his boss. Having been recognized through his hard work and ability to deliver on time, Graham was already becoming more and more popular at the work place. The dilemma on how to handle the situation affected Graham even in his performance that led to his supervisor getting concerned. Graham knew that uncovering the story would be a great betrayal to his friend who was the reason he got the job in the first place. The dilemma did not weigh down Graham but also affected how they related with his co-worker that led to the colleagues noticing something unusual. Still, Graham knew that the story was already a big issue that would not only affect the image of his colleague but harm his position and reputation. The workplace setting was also structured to align with what was based on ethics and morals. Graham was therefore in a dilemma on whether to act in honesty or keep the deep secret and save his dear friend from losing his job. The more he kept it in his heart, the more it burnt in his soul and gave him sleepless nights.
One day the supervisor insisted on carrying out an investigation to find out the cause and those liable for the mess the company was facing. Graham knew that his stay at the company relied on how best he upheld his image that was at its all time high at the moment. On the other hand, his colleague was already undergoing some issues at the job that made him number one suspect. The lost money had to be found or else the manager had threatened to do away with some workers.
One of the defining moments was the decision that Graham had to make to ensure he stroke balance between his friendship and still maintain his reputation. The supervisor insisted on learning about the events that transpired before the money was lost. Graham as the person in charge that day had to explain how the money disappeared thus putting him in a very sensitive situation. Graham’s friend begged him to keep things down as the issue would result in both losing their jobs. One thing that remain clear is that once the issue came to light, there was no turning back and the truth had to reveal one day. Graham in his own capacity decided to present the matter and explain how he was unable to gather information about the money.
The supervisor directed the department head to go through the office surveillance videos that would reveal the event that unfolded that day. During the investigation, no one was required to present any case that would interfere with the truth and this meant that Graham could no longer move forward with the information he had regarding his friend. On the other hand, the supervisor was starting to become inquisitive as he had learnt that the videos only showed that the money disappeared at Graham’s desk. The investigator came up with the full video that showed Graham putting the money on the desk and leaving for a tea break. More information showed that Graham’s friend entered the room and took the envelope that contained the money. The video also also showed that Graham entered the room and talked to his friend for ten minutes where he later left holding the envelope with Graham seeing all the events. The supervisor was surprised to see that Graham did not check to see whether the envelope that Graham carried was the one he had left at the table.
In his conclusion, the supervisor affirmed that Graham and his friend were liable for the missing money as they were both at the room when the envelope disappeared. The other conformation that made was that Graham might have been involved in planning the issue because of how his friend entered and left the room with the envelope. The other evident thing was that Graham did not present the case once he realized that the money was missing but chose to keep quiet until the issue was raised by the department head. Once the evidence was presented, Graham was accused of intentionally plotting to steal the money from the department head’s office. In his defense, Graham argued that he did not realize that the envelope contained money as he could not have left it unguarded on the table.
The other argument presented by Graham was that he was sure that no one would enter the room in his absence. The supervisor intervened that Graham was liable for the whole issue that risked his termination from the job unless his friend admitted the offense. The ultimate conclusion was made where the supervisor and the department head argued that Graham was liable and had to be suspended for three months. The news was very shocking to Graham who was already working hard to earn more recognition and promotion. The results of the case taught Graham that truth holds more weight than lies. He concluded that after the three months suspension, he would establish some principles that would ensure that he would not get into such a mess again. Graham was rather irritated that he got into such troubles because of his friend that he had dearly held close as a partner at the workplace and a long-time ally. One of the main lessons in this case is that the events that transpired could have been avoided of only Graham stood his ground by telling the truth. The decision to conceal and save his friend caused the problems that even affected his reputation and his relationship with his seniors.
