There is a very good

There is a very good chance that the database article the student discovered and turned in for the previous assignment had quotes within it from other sources. Researchers quote other people. We as researchers have two choices if we want to use that person’s statement or data. We can find the original source, or we can document an indirect quote.

The indirect quotation process is described on OWL @ Purdue under the “MLA In-Text Citations – The Basics” page under the subheading “Citing Indirect Sources.”

For this assignment –

1. Go back to the database article submitted for the last assignment, or find another database article (you need five total for the final submission).

2. Identify a quote, image, or data in the article that is not original to the author of that article, but that is useful to your line of inquiry.

3. Use the information on “MLA In-Text Citations – The Basics” to help you create a correct in-text citation.

4. Include the correctly formatted in-text citation on the research journal you are drafting underneath its works cited entry.

5. Cut and paste it into the text box that appears here when you click the “submit assignment” button.

I will provide feedback on the example of citation you provide me. There will not be peer review with this exercise.

There is a debate in society as to which factor factors more heavily in peoples’ sexuality and gender identification

There is a debate in society as to which factor factors more heavily in peoples’ sexuality and gender identification:   Genetics or environment.   Genetics perform the obvious functions, like determining our biological sex at birth, and the changes that take place during puberty.   But that’s where the certainty ends.

How people identify as gender-wise, is influenced by a variety of factors.    None has been absolutely proven to be dominant in explaining gender identification.   There are societal forces, biological forces, and psychological forces at play.   The end result is an individual that chooses behavior, clothing, social circles, and occupations, based upon, or in opposition to, their biological gender.  How in line each person’s psychological make-up is with respect to their identification is individual.

For this assignment, you will do internet research in two domains of gender research:  Biological and Environmental.  For each domain, select 2 theories.  So you will research two Biological theories, and two Environmental theories.

For each theory, please provide the following:

1:   The hypothesis behind the theory.   What specific question were the researchers trying to answer?   It’s not enough to say is gender genetic or environmental.   The research has to answer more specific questions than that.   The authors associated with both studies must be included here.   Anonymous studies will not count.

2.  The precise methodology behind the study.   This includes the numbers of people in the samples, and how the control and experimental groups were structured.   Th actual method of how the study was administered must be detailed.  For instance, just saying “A questionnaire was used” is not enough.  As many details about that method as possible must be included.

3.  A substantive review of the results of the study.   It is important to tie the results in with the hypothesis being tested, and to posit whether the results support or do not support the researchers’ hypothesis.

4.   References.  Please all references at the end of the paper.  References do not count towards the 8 page content requirement.

Rules:

8 content pages.   Cover pages and references are not included in the 8 page count.

This paper must be double-spaced with standard 1 inch margins.   Papers with greater than double spacing, an/or larger than one inch margins will docked 10 points.

Content includes 4 pages for biological theories and 4 for environmental.  Small variations in this rule are ok.

References must be listed at the end of the 8 content pages.

Content does NOT include cover page and reference pages.  You are required to submit 8 pages of content.  5 points will be deducted for each page short of 8.

NO POLITICAL STATEMENTS OF ANY SORT ARE TO BE MADE IN THIS ASSIGNMENT.   THEY WILL RESULT IN A LOWERING OF YOUR GRADE.   THIS ASSIGNMENT IS CONCERNED ONLY WITH THE FACTS OF THE RESEARCH YOU ARE PRESENTING.  IF THE RESEARCH IS OF A POLITICAL BEND, IT WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.   IF YOU HAVE DOUBTS, CONTACT ME TO DISCUSS.

There are various

There are various vital strategies in which one can including academic activities and accomplishments into your personal development goals. It is essential that one evaluates the academic and personal impacts of the activities or achievements. It is important to take into consideration the benefits gained from taking on a new academic activity or completing an achievement. It is also important to evaluate how academic activity or accomplishment will improve your personal development goals.

If you are considering having a high GPA, it may be wise to complete an activity that would help you achieve this goal such as taking courses in calculus, statistics, and sociology for three hours per week. If you want to develop a skill such as public speaking then you can take part in extracurricular activities such as speech contests. Nurses can also create and maintain a solid portfolio. This will assist them in identifying their strengths and learning needs.

From the above strategies and considerations, the nurse should consider how to balance the three components of personal development. One should also consider their ability to achieve personal development goals. The nurse should remember that it is not easy for them to achieve their personal development goals as they have to juggle between their professional obligations and these goals (Watt, 2022). It is also important that they consider how many activities are needed in order to reach one’s goal. The nurse should make a plan on how they will manage such activities by having a realistic time frame so that they do not get overwhelmed by all the responsibilities of being a nurse.

Setting realistic goals is also another strategy. A nurse should be able to set goals that are achievable (Cope & Murray, 2018). At last, the nurse should also consider the importance of their professional role by maintaining a balance between their role as a student and their role as a practicing nurse. A good strategy is to keep in mind that one’s academic achievement will get them promoted. Hence it is not worth sacrificing these achievements for one’s professional obligations.

The next step is to have patience and be persistent in achieving your goals. At last, nurses should be able to recognize their strengths and weaknesses so that they can have the skills that would help them increase the possibility of achieving these goals or activities.

Walden’s Vision for change

Empowering students to make a change in the global scale is one of the key visions of Walden University’s visions for effective social change (Social Change, n.d.). The university does this by addressing the challenges that tend to deter them from making a difference in their profession and in the world around them. Walden University has made significant and laudable contributions to the global community. It does this through its initiative towards helping students to make a difference in their professional fields and in the world. The university has put policies in place that help students enhance their academic performance which is evident from the number of students graduating top of their classes. It is also evident in the number of partnerships that Walden University has with institutions, companies and organizations who are involved with research and social change across the globe.
