Addiction to the internet disrupts a person’s normal day-to-day activities and puts a strain on their personal and professional lives. An online addiction or internet compulsiveness is also known as an internet reliance. It is easier for some internet users to converse with their online friends than with their real-life counterparts. Using the internet excessively may have a harmful impact on both children and adults. Students’ attention spans have shortened, according to teachers, and they often fall asleep in class. Due to their excessive internet usage, many students have seen their grades slip as a result of their inability to focus on their studies. People of all ages are susceptible to internet addiction, from high school students to professionals in the workforce.

Pre-calc and Calculus
Anyone who would want to do pre-calc and calculus would definitely do it successfully depending on the previous foundation in mathematics that incorporates the basic information required. A learner should not just forget the fundamentals of a calculus immediately after a test or examination as this might position a student behind most of the time. It is always important to make sense on whatever the students learn particularly in mathematics. The primary building blocks of mathematical literacy include understanding times-tables or basic arithmetic facts that serve as core for nearly all mathematics learning that follow afterwards. However, the rote learning does not link properly with the current digital technology, which has made learning easier by doing the grunt work for learners. This form of writing presents some pros and cons of learning to work pre-calc and Calculus problems by hand.
ProsAccording to “Classroom Professor”, it is undeniable that arithmetic begins from a particular foundation, which includes principles for numeration system, operators, symbolic system and all other basic information. Utilization of the basic calculus thought remains vital for students. A number of people believe in the mathematical concept and therefore using the manual process of teaching calculus idea will result into a massive universal support. According to Orlin, “most of all, they complain that rote learning has become taboo, rather than accepted as a healthy part of a balanced scholastic diet” (Web). Additionally, using the manual way of learning calculus tends to reinforce some arithmetical processes as well as links that may perhaps not arise when the digital technology is used such as the use of 10 being the base for the numeration system in indices.
It is essential to understand that manual learning of using pre-calc and calculus by hand improves focus mental attention, focus to detail and is free from distractions thus making it an exceptional mental workout. Understanding basic ideas and arithmetical principles can never be substituted with the digital technology since the brain is more superior to the technology, unless a learner has learning or mental disability. Students who do not understand the fundamental concepts of Calculus may hardly understand numerous related topics or basic arithmetical concepts that were crucial in the primary mathematics curriculum. Mental computational abilities tend to eliminate issues of struggling to reach understanding of concepts the learners could have learnt in lower grades.
Every individual should understand mathematical function and parametric equations supported by evidence instead of basing their activities on the arithmetical functions. According to Hacker, the most important thing is the qualitative literacy of an individual as it helps in identifying and detecting ideology at work behind the numbers represented in the digital technology (Web). Memorization is very crucial in fuelling deep insights and enables students to reason critically and such kind of knowledge is very useful.
Cons
The advancement of technology is meant to improve the way of doing things including learning. Calculators and other digital technology equipment are meant to make calculation much quicker and accurate. Because of the presence of new technology, the calculators and other equipment have rendered rote system less important. Understanding concept and memorizing arithmetical concepts are therefore not that significant as it used to be. Understanding calculus concept through the manual technique is quite challenging because it strains the brain. Cramming or memorizing a concept may turn out to be a tough situation for students. The fact that mathematics concept sharpens wits cannot be proved because students with such kind of understanding have never proved themselves to be politically and socially intellectual. The current technology need to be embraced and forget about the analogue system that is time consuming yet there are other vital things that teachers and students should do. Deeper understanding of mathematical concept in the classroom is not that significant because it does involve quality reasoning. According to Hacker, “Nor is it clear that the math we learn in the classroom has any relation to the quantitative reasoning we need on the job” (Web). Hacker believes that high-tech technology is crucial for the industrial success and therefore the solution does not lie in academic concepts and theories as it is conventionally thought.
Memorizing mathematical concepts is very important as far as deeper understanding of an issue is concerned. It is indeed significant for learners to have an insight on what they doing and the background of the calculus ides. However, any other person who does not know the derivatives of a particular arithmetic can use application of calculators and other technologies. Memorizing and understanding fundamentals of an arithmetical concept creates a difference between a learner and a common person. Beneficial use of the calculators requires a little knowledge of what a learner does.

Task 1
My Leadership Skills Vs Management Skills
There are a number of leadership skills that I can recognize in myself. They include decisiveness, integrity and problem solving. Decisiveness is the skill needed when quick decisions are required within a short time and with limited information (Datta, 2015). Integrity is the ability to be honest, professional, diplomatic and ethical in the choices you make as a leader. Being corrupt and unfair are characteristics of a bad leader. Problem solving is a skill that goes hand in hand with decisiveness (Datta, 2015). This skill requires a leader to be calm in order to calm up with a planned solution to a crises or to avoid the crises all together. The management skills I feel privileged to have acquired so far include organization, time management and delegation. Organization is the ability to construct and then uphold organizational procedures, take account of development, set priorities, and basically direct their staff toward reaching predetermined targets (Freeling & Parker, 2015). Time management helps managers to ensure that every task and project is done in accordance with the set time frame and priority. A good manager knows who can do what best and can therefore initiate specialization and division of labor to achieve best results.
As much as I have leadership skills and management skills I am perfect in I have other skills that I need to work on. Some of the leadership skills that I need to work on include emotional intelligence, mentoring skills and communication skills. Emotional intelligence is when a leader relates to others, build true bonds and trust, and then inspire those individuals in the appropriate ways (Iordanoglou, 2018). A leader will need mentoring skills to teach and mentor his or her colleagues to grow their career hence helping the organization to grow. Mentoring skills make a leader to stand out. Leaders also need to have essential communication skills such that they are willing to listen to their colleagues’ opinions, not just give orders. Some of the management skills I lack are forward planning, strategic thinking and attention to detail. Planning ahead is essential to a manager as it helps to avoid risks that may arise in future (Freeling & Parker, 2015). Strategic thinking enables a manager to see the bigger picture and therefore encourage innovation and change. Having attention to detail will benefit a manger enabling him or her recognize potential budget overruns or reviewing other people’s work.
Ways to improve My Leadership Skills
I intend to improve the leadership skills that I already have so as to be better. I will improve my decision making skills by examining my resources and making plans on how to meet specific goals. I will also be assertive in recognizing the benefits and consequences of the decisions I make (Datta, 2015). I can also seek advice from my superiors and mentors on how to make decisions in a quick and efficient manner. Integrity is a skill that is greatly admired so improving it is essential. The first step is to keep records of promises and deadlines to meet and making sure that I abide by them. Being honest and transparent in all my endeavors will help in gaining people’s trust. I will also be professional in all that I do so as to attract the right influences (Iordanoglou, 2018). My problem solving skills can be greatly improved by doing vast research on identified problems then brainstorming so as to come up with the best suitable solutions.
Leadership Mindset
Leadership mindset determines how leaders spend their time and energy, shapes their professional decisions, and gives their work direction and significance (Paxton & Stralen, 2015). Mindset essentially shapes who we are and what we do in the many roles that we play. The mindset of leaders must adapt to and change in the disruptive world of today. Leadership mindset supports long-term personal growth in many ways. It aids an individual by improving on their skills, abilities and talents therefore making them have more self-esteem. There are also chances of taking up new skills and challenges in order to improve themselves (Paxton & Stralen, 2015). Leadership mindset motivates a person to work towards excellence and not give chance to mediocrity. Professionally, a leadership mindset helps a leader to see growth opportunities for themselves and their colleagues even in the occurrence of crises. He or she will not waste time blaming others but instead will find ways to overcome the challenges (Paxton & Stralen, 2015). Leadership mindset allows leaders to identify colleagues’ achievements and appreciate them by congratulating them. When employees’ efforts are recognized, they feel motivated to perform even better.
Leadership Skills in Health Care Profession
The good thing about having leadership skills is that I can apply them in my health care profession. My decision making skills will come in handy. As a medical practitioner, I am likely to have patients who require my assistance to get better. I therefore need to use my knowledge and skills to make decisions that are of benefit to them (Kumar & Khiljee, 2016). In the event that I am not sure of the decision to make, I should consult my colleagues. Having integrity will make my patients trust me more and also be willing to explain more about their illnesses so that I can assist them. Integrity will also help me to associate better with my colleagues. My problem solving skills will help me in brainstorming various treatment solutions for my patients before informing them of the best solution (Kumar & Khiljee, 2016). This solution will be mostly based on the resources such as time, finances and equipment available. For example, a newly diagnosed cancer patient will need information and guidance to plan for treatment. I will assist to make decisions based on my knowledge and also be honest about the treatment expectations. In the event of new occurrences during the treatment I will make new solutions which best solve the problems.
In conclusion, I would ensure equity and inclusivity as a leader in a healthcare environment by including everyone despite the difference in race, gender, education and wealth in decision making (Lyman et al., 2022). All opinions are valid and no one should feel left out. Another way to ensure equality is by educating the staff on its importance mainly through the onboarding during orientation or having a training and development department which can offer training from time to time.
TASK 2
How to Apply Strategies to Increase Resilience and Self-Care
There are two ways to apply strategies to increase resilience and self-care that will influence one’s professional practice in a healthcare environment. First is the Self-Reflection: take time to step back and reflect on your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Self-reflection is a crucial component of the reflective practice cycle. This allows you to process and understand your experiences, ideas, and emotions. It is a mindful activity that can be used in all aspects of life, including professional practice (Acker, 2018). This will help you understand your triggers and stressors and how to manage them healthily. The second is to Seek Support: find a trusted friend, family member, therapist, or other professional to talk to about your experiences. Support is available in many forms. A support network may include family, friends, colleagues, professional associations, and health care services. This can help you to process difficult emotions and develop healthy coping mechanisms (Acker, 2018). It is essential to reflect on your own experiences and integrate your learning from these experiences into your professional practice. Reflective practice will help you to develop the skills and knowledge necessary to provide high-quality healthcare.
Personal Development Plam
Goal: Increase mindfulness.
There are a few things that I would like to focus on in terms of mindfulness to increase resilience and self-care in healthcare.
-Actionable steps:
Set aside 5-10 minutes each day to sit in silence and focus on my breath.
Make a conscious effort to be present at the moment throughout the day, and take note of when my mind starts to wander.
At the end of each day, reflect on what I did well in staying present, and what I could improve on.
Goal: Develop better eating habits
Understanding what factors influence food choices is essential to developing better eating habits (Taylor, Thomas-Gregory & Hofmeyer, 2020). Some of these factors include taste, convenience, cost, and nutrition. It is also necessary to know how different foods affect the body. For example, some foods may provide energy while others may cause fatigue.
-Actionable steps:
Make a grocery list each week of healthy and nutritious food items.
Meal prep begins each week, so I have healthy meals and snacks readily available.
Avoid processed foods and sugary drinks, and make an effort to eat more whole foods.
Goal: Improve self-care routine
There are many advantages to improving self-care routine goals to increase resilience and self-care that will influence your professional practice in a healthcare environment. These advantages include increased strength, improved self-care, greater self-awareness, and enhanced professional training.
-Actionable steps:
Wake up 10 minutes earlier each day to give me time to stretch and meditate.
Make a point to go outside for a walk or run at least three times per week.
Make sure to schedule “me time” each week to do things that I enjoy and make me feel relaxed and rejuvenated.
Increasing mindfulness will help me to be more present at the moment and better able to focus on my work. Developing better eating habits will allow me to have more energy and focus, and improving my self-care routine will help me to feel better overall and be more productive.
Importance of Having Personal Development Plan
A personal development plan is a tool that you can use to help you assess your current skills and knowledge, set goals for your future development, and track your progress over time. Having a personal development plan can help you to identify areas where you need to improve your skills and knowledge, and it can also help to motivate you to continue developing your abilities. In addition, a personal development plan can help you build leadership skills and knowledge by providing a framework to reflect on your own experiences and learn from them. Individual development plans are essential for several reasons (Thomas & Asselin, 2018). First, they can help you to clarify your goals and identify the steps you need to take to achieve them. Second, they can keep you motivated and on track by providing a structure for your learning and development. Third, they can help you to measure your progress and identify areas where you need to continue to work. Finally, they can provide a framework for discussing your progress with your supervisor or mentor. Personal development plans can help you to develop leadership skills and knowledge by providing a roadmap for your development. By clarifying your goals and outlining the steps you need to take to achieve them, you can set yourself up for success (Thomas & Asselin, 2018). Additionally, by measuring your progress and identifying areas where you need to continue to work, you can ensure that you are making the most of your learning opportunities.
