Television Fiction and Women’s Fantasy
The aspect of gender and sexuality in movies has been an integral approach in highlighting some of the issues and problems faced by the characters in society. Filmmakers and playwrights have expounded these attributes by capturing specific important policies and actionable structures that can better communicate these problems and issues as faced in society. Their active involvement with different organizational features ensures that better and lasting arrangements are put in place to achieve established goals and also realize needed outcomes for the long term. One of the notable films of the time has been the depiction of women’s fantasy. The analysis of articles in contemporary culture can help show the approach taken to highlight gender and sexuality issues in movies. The present essay explains the aspects of women’s involvement in these issues by depicting characters in the movies. The article, Melodramatic Identifications: Television fiction and women’s fantasy helps one better understand these structures and the impending effects they have had on the societal perception of the problems and how they are impacted mainly within the organizational segments (Ang 237). The approach taken by the films shows the stereotypical nature of the filmmaking process.
Discussion of the approach
The approach seen in this article is known as the role/image approach, or more conventionally, ‘images of women’s approach. Ang expounds on the approach by explaining that it is fundamentally based on analyzing the pictures of women s they are depicted in the media platforms (Ang, 242). The study is then juxtaposed with the real-life situation’s depiction, opening up enhanced segments as to how they can be jointly reviewed to achieve common goals and objectives. In the current world, where most people draw mentors from movies, it becomes essential for filmmakers and playwrights to develop a positive review of these characters. For example, there can be better images for the women to stimulate a desire that motivates the audience. The female heroines seen in the movies can provide better insights into the depiction process by fighting the stereotypes that exist in society.
Analysis of the approach
The approach discussed in the film is fundamentally developed on the need for positive perceptions from the audience. The depiction of women through the positive images in the movies ensures the creation of the correct perception in the audience’s mindset. Thus, young children are oriented toward the important basic structures of societal development. It is a chance for them to understand the expectations of their peers and integrate better and more effective manners of achieving desired goals and outcomes. They get to fight and handle the gender stereotypes at an early age, thus, cultivating an air of equality and continued reiteration of policies that positively influence their lives. The logic of supplying positive images for women in films helps fight the existing notion of gender roles. As the author explains, it is critical in fighting the traditional, stereotyped, or trivialized model of womanhood.
Evaluation of the approach
However, despite the enhanced structures geared towards success, the approach has various problems and issues that may derail its developed impacts and desirable developments. The problems come from the perceptional facilities. The speculative venture fails to recognize the role of emotional availability when reviewing the influence of body images on women. In most cases, individuals are usually emotionally invested in the characters appearing on television (Ang 236). They tend to overlook the flaws and character problems depicted in the film. The emotional attachment may cause them to have differences in the perspectives offered by the characters. Therefore, there will be no effect in either the positive or negative depiction of the women in the movies. The article highlights the nature of the problem by providing examples from the attachment of women to various shows. For example, there are instances where women vastly prefer to watch soap operas. The study refers to the aspect as irrational since the approach does not consider the possibilities of emotional attachment and involvement towards the characters. The identification with character behavior and actions in the popular film is a critical feature that is overlooked, proving to be a problem in further analyzing the body images.
Another issue with the approach has been the failure to fully distinguish between the body images and the character reviews and perspectives shared by each of them. The widespread nature of the characters in films and shows may lead to people overlooking their depiction of body images. The factor coupled with the emotional investment proves to be a challenge to them as there is a failure to determine the best ways to handle desirable outcomes in the positive or negative reviews. The author also notes the problem by reviewing various key players and characters such as Sue Ellen Ewing or Christine Cagney (Ang, 247). The author notes that such individuals cannot be reviewed as contextualized images of women. Instead, they are seen as a fictional fantasy created from the author’s mind and provide specific barriers and breakdowns that can have adverse effects on the realization of the set goals and targets in the long term. The depiction of the characters having struggles in various areas such as emotional attachment and dealing with conflict and dilemmas may also contribute to the problem. This is a significant weakness of the theoretical advancement incorporated.
To deal with the issues in depiction, there is a need for specific enhanced actionable policies. The article suggests the importance of ensuring that the audience understands fantasy as an extension of human reality. They should view the characters with a human touch to ensure that they relate to some of the issues and problems from their engagements. Fantasy can accord one the needed pleasure when viewed as fulfilling a conscious or unconscious wish (Ang, 241). The encouragement to participate in the attribute opens up platforms for better perception of the images in the male and female segments of the interactive media.
There have also been modern shifts in the approach with the development of contemporary issues touching on aspects of feminism. The joint level approach has seen women fight for equal opportunities and spaces with the males. These efforts extend the issues and problems highlighted by the author. The fight to end gender stereotypes and traditional roles of women requires the efforts of diverse players within the society. They must ensure that the right policies and structures are adopted to help improve the place of women. Additionally, men can also be involved in the actionable outcome to enjoy required success features amongst themselves. Modern feminists are concerned with provision of better and more enhanced spaces for women to thrive and meet their targets and goals. The positive depiction of women in movies counts towards ensuring that they have the right environments to meet these goals. Also, it is a way of influencing the future generations with regards to successful realization of needed support features for success.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the approach developed by Ien Ang is critical in ensuring that women gain active and equal spaces amongst men. The system must be further developed since it aligns with contemporary thoughts and issues in feminism. The determination of an aligning perspective ensures that the system is additionally incorporated in different departments. The film sector can be a trailblazer to other industries in ensuring that the depiction of women fights off the gender stereotypes and traditional roles and perspectives of women in society.

PART FIVE
I conducted a research on a female who had lived with asthma for seven years from the day of diagnosis. For sure this was a long term disease. The patient has been experiencing the symptoms for more than 10 years however she confused this with normal flu and cold. Among other characteristics she was experiencing included wheezing. She had an abnormally high-pitched sound produced by breathing through partially obstructed or narrowed airways. This was more prominent during exhalation and is associated with a prolonged expiratory phase. Besides wheezing, she could not survive in a cold environment. The patient also complained that her chest was often congested and experienced chest pains most frequent especially during winter seasons. Also, there is increased mucus secretion this mostly in the morning. Besides the secretion there is always running nose in the morning or when exposed to cold. Strong allergic reactions to dust, perfume and smoke was also what she experienced. When introduced to dust she sneezes, then get difficulties in breathing. Currently she takes long to recover from respiratory infections such as cough, cold and flu. To some point she confuses the symptoms with those of asthma.
When she felt the symptoms so serious she went to the doctor and was diagnosed with asthma. First weeks she thought it was something that will end just like a normal disease after taking medication. However, as time progressed she still experienced the symptoms after a period of not using drugs which showed that it was something long-term. It was stressful since she was on strong ant allergies and inhalers which made her think that it was going to be difficult. To stay well nowadays she has to take medications and if she gets asthma attacks (difficulties in breathing to a point one feels like she is going to stop breathing) she puffs inhalers. She keeps warm, stays away from dust so as not to trigger the disease. Sometime she will use a nebulizer if she has intense difficulties in breathing. Keeping warm, avoiding cold places, proper medication, avoiding dust and other asthma triggers such as dust is what keeps her going. She took long to discover her conditions.
Besides having lived in Canada for three years and worked in a paint industry for 4 years, she traces her conditions from her mom. Her mom developed asthma as early as 18 years old thus her condition can be genetic. On the other hand, it can also be due to exposure to cold while in Canada or strong irritants while working. All these three are causes of asthma. For her she feels like it is too late to get permanent treatment since it is at an acute level where she also has chronic bronchitis. I discovered her acuteness since she could not complete sentences without taking poses to breathe. This is how far asthma can get.
PART SIX
From the above we can conclude that asthma is a serious disease that has negative effects on one’s health. Asthma derives from a state of persistent subacute airway inflammation caused by the interplay of genetics, innate immunity and the environment. Just from the ethnographic research, asthma affects the patient’s life and to some it can cause stress leading to depression. According to CDC statistics CDC Statistics: 25.7 million people have asthma where by 7 million are children under the age of 18 years. In the hospitals, there are 1.8 million ED visits yearly. About 3500 people die of asthma annually. Many of those with asthma link their condition to family and cold.
Also through my research I have learnt that asthma patients have airways that are hypersensitive and something small triggers it. Allergens such as dust mite, pollen, grass, and animal dander will always leave asthma patients sneezing and struggling to breath. Cold is a major causative agent and a trigger whereby, Cold dry air constricts the bronchus in turn causing bronchospasm which then triggers asthma attack when combined with other triggers. Even though asthma is not a psychosomatic disease, panic and anxiety can trigger it that is why patients are always advised to walk around with their inhalers and other drugs. Nebulizers and bronchodilators are the best treatment for those with acute asthma. Also, anti-inflammatory medications, aminophylline IV drip-2nd line, IV anti-inflammatory agents such as steroids and SQ Beta agonists such epinephrine are used to treat asthma.
Control and prevention involves controlling the asthma symptoms through patient teaching, medication therapy by use of inhalers and medical dosage appropriately, hydration, maintaining proper diet. Eating small frequent well-nourished meals (protein can be a problem) and avoiding ice cold beverages can help prevent and control asthma. All these is what patients and individuals should put into consideration. Since asthma can be genetic, whenever there is a family member who has asthma, it is good to visit the doctor as early as possible when experiencing symptoms of asthma. Early treatment is good since one can be healed permanently unlike treating after years of staying with asthma.
Conclusively. Asthma drugs are expensive yet this is a global problem. The government need to standardize the prices and offer a discount or reduce the prices so as all social classes can get access to the drugs. Inequality in the health sector is very rampant nowadays whereby, the rich will always get access to the best medicine while the poor will be given normal anti allergies and antibiotics as treatment. Asthma being a global problem, we need to educate everyone on prevention and treatment of the disease so as to reduce the cases of those dying of asthma. Non-prescription should be avoided unless directed by the by the doctor. Some drugs may increase risks for side effects toxic effects of prescription.

Sustainable Development Goals
The attainment of Sustainable Development Goals is one of the key aims in every company in different countries. Sustainable Development Goals commonly abbreviated as SDGs represent a collection of 17 global goals that are designed by 193 member states of the United Nations to act as blueprints in the achievement of a better and more sustainable tomorrow for every individual (Hák et al. 565) In addition, the SGDs act new set of goals which embody the United Nations member state’s political policies and national agendas until 2030. Developed with the pledge to leave no country and its people behind, the SDGs are designed with the common purpose of improving the lives of individuals by bringing to an end hunger, AIDS, poverty, the discrimination of girls and women around the world (Bule and Cristina 119). With sustainable development goals being the key to achieving a hunger free, AIDS free, poverty free, and discrimination of girls and women free environment around the world, it is therefore the responsibility of every company to adopt roles such invention and innovation and implement actions such as investing in government that will contribute towards the achievement of these Millennium development goals.
Hák et al. suggests that it is imperative that companies should be first in line towards embracing sustainable development goals as a useful reporting framework for their sustainability development efforts (567). With flourishing societies comes flourishing business success. The achievement of sustainable development goals creates an environment of thriving stakeholders or societies in which organizations providing goods and services depend for their success and survival. As a result, it therefore the responsibility of companies to embrace and adopt various actions and roles that contribute towards sustainable development goals (Bule and Cristina 119).
Companies have roles that contribute towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. Invention and Innovation is one of the major roles that companies should embrace towards the SDGs (Rashed and Afzal 9). Invention and innovation of new technologies which are crucial for economic growth and development leads to increases in productivity, creation of wealth as well as the economic well-being. Additionally, invention and innovations also promotes transformation of economies creating jobs that help reduce cases of poverty and hunger. It is also evident that the invention and innovation role of companies helps toward SDGs by reducing climate change through creation of technologies that are environmental friendly.
Investing in governments through payment of taxes is one of the major actions taken by companies to contribute in the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (Bule and Cristina 119). Investments play a significant role in raising standards of living especially through creation of jobs, development of skills and technology, and distribution of wealth. Therefore, through investments, companies are able to provide opportunities such as jobs that help avoid case of hunger and poverty thus contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals. However, irresponsible business activities that are carried out illegally without payment of taxes erode both investment and business environments. As a result, this leads to environmental degradation, economic loss, injuries, deaths, and poor labor conditions all of which result to increased poverty and hunger. Responsible business practices such as payment of taxes result to government investment in various sectors which in one way or another contribute to the achievement of SDGs (Bule and Cristina 119).
Lobbying for actions that contribute towards the achievement of SDGs is another major action that companies can adopt to contribute towards the attainment of these goals (Hák et al. 565). Business entities around the world have significance influence on government policies, politicians, and political processes. With such amount of influence, it is advisable for companies to adopt lobbying as one of the major actions in addressing SDGs. For instance, a company can lobby for various policies and strategies that accelerate towards the transition into a low carbon economy. Also companies can provide support in the election of politicians and individuals with platforms that contribute to the achievement of SDGs for instance, the Green New Deal which supports all Sustainable Development Goals (Bule and Cristina 119). By lobbying for low carbon economy, companies are able to protect the environment against pollution thus reducing cases of drought and hunger brought about by climate change.
Investing in SDGs friendly companies is another major action that a company should take in order to contribute in the achievement of these Millennium development goals (Schramade 90).Big financial companies such as State Street, Vanguard, and Blackrock manage billions of dollars of investment in companies. Pension fund companies invest in member contributions while organizations such as banks invest in depositors’ money. By investing such amount of money in Sustainable Development Goals friendly companies, these companies will able to provide a boost in SDG progress. By ensuring proactive sustainable finances in support of SDG-friendly companies, this will lead to a low carbon emission and an SDG compliant economy (Bule and Cristina 119).
Purpose driven impactful business models provide companies with an opportunity to create social and environmental values through their products, services, and restorative operational business practices that aid others contribute towards the achievement of SDGs (Hák et al. 567). For instance, they may manufacture and install affordable solar panels which help organizations and societies at large reduce their carbon emission footprint in support of achieving SDGs through the clean and affordable energy. In addition, a company can also support SDGs by reducing poverty through the use of fair trade supply chains which provide an opportunity for decent work for the underserved populations. On the other hand, companies such as banks can provide preferential rates to borrowers who work and commit to the Sustainable Development Goals. It is therefore imperative for a company to adopt the SDGs impactful business models as one of the actions in addressing these global goals (Bule and Cristina 119).
In conclusion, Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are global goals that call for a universal plan of action to bring to an end hunger and poverty while also providing protection to the planet. Bearing this in mind, it is therefore the role of companies to come up with different strategies such as invention and innovation that aid in reducing these challenges and help achieve SGDs in every context. Additionally, companies also have the responsibility to take various actions that address and contribute towards the SDGs. These actions include, investing in government through payment of taxes, lobbying for action on the Sustainable Development Goals, and the provision of investments to companies that are SDG friendly. Therefore, it is only through these roles and actions that companies can contribute towards the SDGs which are designed to bring the world to a safety and more habitable place.
