Emerson Echoes
Emerson is known for his unique ideas, which are relevant, even till today, and especially in the United States. His beliefs, principles and ideas, have been captured in his essays and are defined as being extremely American. In fact, he is notable for being a writer who has had an impact on American institutions that are contemporary. There are some people who seem to agree with his ideals, while others dismiss him for being negative. In America, no one can deny that drive throughs have contributed a lot in shaping how people behave in society. In turn, some of the ideals presented by Emerson are depicted in how American culture is addicted to drive throughs (Emerson, 2003. 56).
This paper seeks to give a critical analysis regarding how Emerson’s ideals have been presented in American drive throughs. Furthermore, it seeks to use his essays, which have had an impact on the culture of Americans.
Critical analysis of Emerson ideals and their impact on modern American culture
In Emerson’s essays regarding nature, he believes that there is a problem, which exists in society. Furthermore, society does not know how to interpret the concept regarding nature. Emerson went on and came up with ideals that focus upon transcendentalism. The work by Emerson is represented in the form of thoughts and letters that are known to be authentically American. In order to know about matters that concern America, it is recommended that one understands Emerson’s work. Moreover, one has to understand the work as it gives an insight regarding how Americans live. Emerson has a unique voice, which shows that he is indeed aware that equality exists in culture. In turn, he believes that people often act in a manner, which is described as being transcended. Since, he was known to be extremely committed to his democratic ideals many viewed him as being pragmatic (Emerson, 2003. 89).
The writing provided by Emerson in his essays makes his personal philosophy known. Emerson overcame the challenges that he faced in his native, European country due to historical issues. In turn, he ensured that Americans were the ones to determine their own futures. He had a mandate that advocated for individual integrity to be rewarded and at the same time to exist with harmony. According to him, this mandate was more vital as compared to nature, which had to be domesticated on institutions that are materialistic. In the existing contemporary landscape, drive throughs have a lot of importance to many Americans. It should be known that Emerson insisted that Americans were to find ways of becoming self reliant. This means that drive throughs do not in any way make Americans become self reliant, but rather be over dependent on technology.
A drive through represents the connection between consumption and mobility to most people. Recently there have been a lot of matters that have arisen, due to the negative impact of drive throughs. The latter is known to cause a change in the landscape of obesity, which is constantly evolving. For example, a person can order for a Monster Burger at the comfort of their seats. Americans consider this to be extreme convenience, and in turn, many of them are frequents customers at the drive throughs. In turn, the drive throughs have been responsible for problems, which are affecting the people’s culture, as well as their health. The number of obesity cases in America has risen drastically and drive throughs are responsible to some extent. The American culture has become extremely dependent on the drive throughs to the point whereby, they have forgotten about being healthy. Instead of going to a restaurant to have a meal or preparing it at home, they prefer to purchase junk food, while in their car’s comfort.
According to Emerson, in nature there are many things, which can benefit people, so long as they are keen. He believes that natural beauty is indeed responsible for making people achieve their desires, so long as they use it wisely. Emerson comments that “Natural beauty relieves stress, but if one goes into nature looking to be relieved of their stress, they will be disappointed because one has to lose himself in nature” (Emerson, 2003. 154). The latter is applicable to the landscape on American drive throughs. People have ignored the vitality of going out and dining, and instead opted to eat food obtained at drive throughs. They are aware of the negative impacts, which the drive throughs have on their health, at the expense of unhealthy eating. It is only people who are virtuous that benefit from nature according to Emerson.
On the other hand, Americans have become obsessed with materialism to the point whereby, they have neglected their lives. Furthermore, the society is far away from knowing the truth since they have shifted away from the imbalance that makes them exist. It is vital to ensure that there is harmony in the society, and the world will be considered as being perfect. Emerson is concerned with the American culture and says that “the sun illuminates only the eye of the man, but shines into the eye and the heart of the child,” (Emerson, 2003. 290). This means that if people change their ways and act in a humble manner like children, they will be aware of how to live a positive life. The drive throughs are viewed by Emerson has evil that has taken over the American culture.
It must also be known that there are advantages, which are accrued, through the use of drive throughs. They are known to be time saving, as there are not many procedures involved before one obtains their food. One just has to place their order while in the car then drive a few meters and wait for their drink and food. Even more, the drive throughs have lead to the creation of jobs that did not exist before. Lastly, the drive throughs are viewed as being a unique product from the United States. Most people who hear the word drive through instantly think about America. In turn, Emerson’s ideal on how America needs to be has been realized as a result of the drive throughs. Americans have created their own uniqueness that has been embraced by almost everyone living there. It seems that drive throughs have in many ways helped Americans and even made their lives miserable. The latter relates to people who use drive throughs frequently, while ignoring the health implication related to it.
Conclusion
In conclusion, the modern American culture has been impacted in various ways by Emerson’s ideals. Drive throughs are a feature of the contemporary landscape, which has affected the way Americans live. Americans have been able to change the way their society is, in accordance to some of the ideals presented by Emerson. Indeed, Emerson is a notable person who made contributions to the American culture through his beliefs and practices.

Ancient History, Middle Ages, and Modern World Christianity
Religion is an essential social factor that shapes the moral values of people in the society as well as enhancing the development of proper humane cognitive throughout the growth process. There exists a wide range of differences amongst various religious believes in the world when it comes to Christianity, Islamic and Hinduism among many others. However, the fact remains that all have a common vice of trying to explain the historical reality of the supreme and supernatural being that has control of the natural existence of the universe. Christianity is one of the most influential religions that depicts the existence of God, and it has significantly spread across many parts of the world. In tracing Christianity evolution, the ancient history, Middle Ages, and the modern society about the religion and how it is what it is today are compared and contrasted into a profound extent.
Change is inevitable in life, and it is a way of development in every process as it has been seen in the evolution of Christianity. Even though the information and ethical values being spread tend to be related, there evolve different ways of phrasing the words with regards to the present condition and the time the religion is being disclosed as well as the person altering the information. The ancient history, Middle Ages, and the modern world of Christianity are the three significant phases that have made Christianity what it is today. Religion is all about faith that brings people together who believe in the same themes, and it significantly plays a vital role in enhancing togetherness and hopes to people in the world. When it comes to Christianity, there exists some similarities and differences with regards to the information being disclosed, the eras when the religious scripts were established and the generation targeted as the audience of the information.
To start with are the differences between the ancient history, the medieval age, the modern world as well as Christianity today. The ancient history of Christianity profoundly talks about the monotheism and Mosaic Law. During the tenth-sixth century before coming to Christ, the Hebrews were among the many people that were caught during the ruling of King Cyrus who after the conquering of Babylon freed the detainees. The Hebrew were allowed to practice their religious beliefs and move back to Canaan freely. They believed to be the agents of their god Yahweh to spread the religion all over the world. It postulates its uniqueness from the other eras which include the middle age and modern world as it begins with the history of captivity and freeing from the Israel where they were subjected to slavery.
Furthermore, the ancient history talks more about the covenant at Sinai which is not the case with other Christianity decades. At this period God promised an agreement with the Hebrews that would compose the rules to be adhered to through their leader Moses. “I am coming to you in a dense cloud so that the people may hear when I speak to you and may trust you always.” (Freud, 2016). The covenant composed the Ten Commandments that the Hebrew have to adhere to in honoring the God who brought them out of Egypt the place of slavery. The case is different in during the other periods in the Christianity historic line as there is no any other instance where these agreements are reissued to the believers. Also, there is no any other instance evidence in the religion line where Yahweh moves people out of slavery.
On the other hand, “the medieval synthesis and its cracks” is used to illuminate the middle ages of Christianity between 1215 -1340. Harmon, unity, and order emerged to be the elements sought by the people during this period where the church was the major body in spreading the ideals. At first regarding reconciling faith and reason, women are seen to be the most active as well as influential people when it comes to religion and their relationship with Christ. It is also at this era that the dark side regarding Christianity trended in the West as the anti-Jewish feelings developed in across many European nations making this specific different from the ancient history and the modern Christianity world. In the writing of consideration, it precisely talks about the facts about the demonstration of God’s existence as well as His Existence which is different from all the pre and post decades. It is not possible to demonstrate the presence of God as it a faith action and a belief cannot be demonstrated as it is the case with other physics experiments. “…demonstration is that something exists, but in the case of God we cannot know what exists, but only what does not.” (Luther, 2016).
The modern world about Christianity regards scripture and salvation as precisely portrayed by Martin Luther in his writing “Freedom of a Christian.” It is unique from the ancient and middle ages as Luther talks about how people in the modern society have taken Christian faith as an easy thing which was not the case there before. The act of faith is demonstrated in a great extent and defined to as personal man righteousness that comes difficult for many people to keep. Martin Luther uses the coming of Jesus Christ as a testimony of how God loves the people sacrificing His only son to suffer and die for their sinful ways. “…you need Christ who suffered and rose again for you so that, if you believe in him, you may through his faith become a new man…” (Hunt, et al. 2000). The models used in elaborating faith are different from the others discussed above regarding the prior decades.
There exist various similarities regarding Christianity and the act of faith amongst all the ancient history, middle ages, and the modern world. First, the act of faith is prevalent as the believers are convinced that it is through God’s mighty that things are the way they are. It is right that God’s existence cannot be demonstrated, but the actions and beliefs of the Christians suggest that there exist a supernatural being. In all the cases there are leaders believed to have been chosen by God to lead His people. For instance, in the ancient history, it was Moses during his ruling in the covenant and the Decalogue as the Hebrew were move from Egypt to Canaan and in the modern world instance is Christ who suffered and died for people’s sins. In all the cases the act of having hope and persistence in God’s ways is emphasized.
Today, Christianity faith has been misinterpreted in different ways where people take advantage of the Gods word with the aim of exploiting the believers financially. The case was not evident during the other eras showing immorality and detoxification regarding religious beliefs in the society. It is through the history line of Christianity from the ancient history to middle ages and the modern world that the religion is what it is today. Christianity has been spread across all nations in the world, and it has become an efficient vessel of demonstrating faith as well as enhancing moral values and shaping the society.
