Hello Chelsea,

Thank you for your detailed discussion post. I appreciate how you brought in the need for the protocol to promote mental well-being among adolescents. I agree with you that there is an increase in cases of depression among adolescents, which necessitates the development of protocols for promoting adolescents’ mental health. Also, the fact that depression affects the adolescents’ ability to pursue education, have sufficient physical health, and be consistently employed, as Moukaddam et al. (2019) discusses, demonstrates why protocols to promote mental health among adolescents are needed. I agree with you that the HAT protocol is significant in promoting mental health among adolescents and empowering them to succeed in life stages, owing to the challenges associated with the adolescence developmental period.

Hello Alicia,Your description of the Vincente v. Johnson case comprehensively explains the plaintiff’s complaints on the design effects, manufacturing defect, failure to warn and the breach of implied and express warranty. The plaintiff had filed a case against the company and wanted $7500 compensation because of the severe personal injury and the financial losses due to the company’s manufacturing of the defective product (Vicente v. Johnson & Johnson, 2020). The compensation gets based on the motorcycle accident, which resulted in the plaintiff needing surgery. Severe challenges occurred during the surgery where parts of the screw broke. Consequently, the explanation of the design defect gives the reader an in-depth depiction of how the manufacturer’s design caused the accident. Moreover, the company’s failure to warn creates a notion that the company should provide a warning to the usage of the items manufactured to enable users to use the item with precaution (Jennings, 2022). Continuous depiction of the false advertisement that the company generated creates my perception to support your argument. Furthermore, I agree with your description of the contract product liability and warranty theory which enables the company to define the warranties according to the product.

Hello Alicia,

Child labor laws and overtime protections are a good example of wage and work hour protections. Children who work are protected by laws against child labor. These rules impose limitations on the age, kinds of tasks children can perform, the hours they can work, and the wages bosses must pay them (Wijayanti, 1). Due to their rate of pay and the nature of the work they perform, exempt workers are not entitled to overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) for hours worked above 40 in a workweek. If a non-exempt workers work more than 40 hours in a workweek, they must be paid time and a half (Cherry, 2). Wages have increased over the last 50 years as much as the wages differ in terms of professions and work experience. The Fiber Tech Plant violated OSHA laws by not creating a safe environment for its employees therefore leading to the death of the employee (Dalton, 3). Businesses must ensure that their employees have worker compensation insurance which comes in handy in the event of an injury in the line of work.
