Introduction
The development of any child is of utmost importance to the parent. It mainly refers to the emotional, psychological and biological changes that take place in human between the time of their birth and the end of adolescence as the person progresses from complete dependency to increased autonomy. It is worth noting that genetics factors and events that occur during prenatal life have a bearing on the occurrence of developmental changes (Wedemeyer et al, 1989). In fact, developmental modification may result from genetically-controlled processes called maturation or learning and environmental factors. However, it commonly involves the interaction of the two. In addition, it may come as a result of human nature, as well as an individual’s capacity to learn from the environment. This is especially having in mind that human beings incorporate an extremely keen sense of adapting to their environment or surrounding, which is what is encompassed in child development (Wedemeyer et al, 1989).
However, there are variations or differences in the development of children from one stage to another. This is as pertaining to the various aspects such as cognitive differences, psychomotor development, as well as language development. There are varied things that may be blamed for these differences in the development of children (Wedemeyer et al, 1989).
First, socioeconomic factors affect the development of children. Research has shown that persistent or chronic poverty bears more harm on a child’s IQ, emotional stability and school achievement than temporary or short-lived poverty. It is worth noting that children who come from households with temporary or persistent poverty still perform in a poorer manner than children from middle-class families.
Secondly, the environment in which an individual lives may impede development. Of course, this is tied to economic factors. For example, school environment may have a negative impact, thanks to aspects such as low teacher expectancies, as well as poor academic-readiness skills among others (Wedemeyer et al, 1989). This underlines the interconnectedness that prevails between emotional functioning of children from poor backgrounds and social economic disadvantages. It is worth noting that continued exposure to persistent or chronic stress in the school and home environment would infuse unhealthy or unreliable parenting, which would then have a negative bearing or impact on the development of the child (Wedemeyer et al, 1989).
Another thing that affects the development of children is the early experiences that he, or she undergoes. Psychoanalytic theorists have, for a long time, been focusing on events that take place in early childhood. They have always opined that the larger part of an individual’s personality is established by the time he or she attains five years of age. In essence, children who have undergone abusive or deprived childhoods stand high chances of undergoing abnormal developments.
Teachers have a key role to play in the development of children. This is especially in the case of children with exceptional needs. Teachers should establish a healthy atmosphere in, as well as outside the classroom so as to enhance the social development of children. This would allow children to feel that it is desirable and convenient to satisfy social relations with other people (Youniss, 1981).
In addition, teachers should enhance feelings of security in the psychology or mind of children. It is noteworthy that the development of children may be affected by feelings of insecurity among kids. In essence, children should be assisted to establish desirable and healthy relations with their classmates. This would inspire them to participate or take part in group activities inside, as well as outside the classroom (Youniss, 1981).

Developmental checklists are important since the help to monitor the growth and development of children. This ability of the checklist can be very helpful to teachers. Teachers can use the list to understand the need of children at different stages of growth and thus develop appropriate strategies for teaching them.
Develop checklist provide a guideline of the material that can be used for curriculum development in kindergarten schools (McQuillan et al, 2007). In this discussion, I will use a developmental checklist of ages from birth to year 5 to develop a curriculum for teaching young kids. The curriculum will be geared towards teaching one of the children I analyzed in the previous week. The curriculum will be suitable for day care centers.
The day care center is meant to serve the developmental need of the children. This curriculum will be geared towards enhance the students developmental needs. It will basically help the children develop their motor skills, cognitive skills, language skills and social skills. The learning center is geared towards children of ages between birth and age 5.
Various materials will be used to create the curriculum. First is that play environment will include appropriate materials such as toy that encourage the children to explore their environment and play freely (California Department of Education, 2012). They will be chosen to challenge their emerging ideas, concepts and skills. The curriculum will also include verbal instruction to guide their interactions and conversation as well as enable the coop with different emotions positive or negative that they experience. It will also include routines that will help the children develop their skills. This learning environment will have an area with books, an area for sensory perception with colorful pictures and paintings among others.
In this environment, the children will participate in different activities, they will play with toys, read basic books, listen to their caregiver reading stories, ell each other stories, sing, draw among others. The will also role play according to the instructions given by their caretakers.

Development Strategies for GCC: Challenges, opportunities and Tasks
GCC has been on the eve for more than decades now coming together to ensure that they create a very strong union in order to steer up their economic gains in the years to come. Therefore this paper deduces the strategies that the GCC is applying, the challenges it’s facing and the tasks it has to ensure that this is in order.
One of the strategies is that the countries have ensured that they have come up with a union that brings the countries in GCC under the same economic objective. This is noted as a unification strategy (Al-Mubaraki & Busler, 2013). The other strategy is that the region has constantly opened up their infrastructure for the last 2 decades to pave way for tourism one of the sectors that was dormant for years. The other and the main strategy is that the region has solicited ways that they can refine oil and not to sale in crude form in order to earn more for their sale. Education diversification is also one key strategy that GCC nations have used to inform the public of the need for development.
The challenges that face the region are also diverse but for the case of this paper I will mention two important ones. The first challenge is that the region is noted with terror perception hence most investor fear to invest in the region. The other is that despite the fact that the GCC nations have come up together to steer development they do not have a common currency.
Oil offers the GCC one important opportunity towards is development as it is a source of funding for development projects. The other is that the region has available human labor for development. The tasks that the region has is to ensure that all the policies in place are implemented for development to commence.
