As you read Chapter 10: Emotion and Motivation, take notes of major concepts and remember to cite the textbook (Spielman et al, 2020) within your response for any information that you summarize/paraphrase from the textbook. Any other sources that you use must also be cited in APA style. Include a complete list of all your sources at the end of your post. This will prepare you to answer the following questions:
Schools often use concrete rewards to increase adaptive behaviors. How might this be a disadvantage for students intrinsically motivated to learn? What are the educational implications of the potential for concrete rewards to diminish intrinsic motivation for a given task?
Producers of popular movies and series typically indicate that they have increased representation regarding people of different sizes, sexual orientations, gender expressions, and abilities. Do you think that is true? Is representation a way to support diverse people? Elaborate on your answers.
Hint: Define the major concepts within the questions, cite, and then provide examples that demonstrate your understanding and ability to apply core concepts to real-world situations.
For the second prompt, consider if representation helps diverse people. How and why?
If there is positive/accurate representation what can that do when it comes to fulfilling certain needs and motivators specifically within this population? Or maybe you think there is insufficient/inaccurate representation and therefore what are the effects on motivation and emotion for diverse populations?
You can apply whichever theory from chapter 10 resonates the most with your perspective regarding this topic.

An important skill for managers and business leaders to have is being able to evaluate a situation to determine what happened, why it happened, how things could have gone differently, what lessons can be learned going forward, and so on. When ethical issues arise, managers are often called upon to address the situations from an employee and leadership perspective, and if damage has been done, there may be a need to not only correct behaviors but also improve relationships. For your final Assignment in this course, you will review a series of business scenarios involving ethical matters. You will then use those scenarios to determine whether the parties involved behaved ethically or not, as well as explain the impacts of the situation, what else may have affected the decision-making, and how it could have been addressed more effectively.
