Understanding Customer
You are expected to participate in the weekly classroom discussion with relevant, purposeful and reflective thought. Each week you will have 2 discussion questions. Your initial posts should be substantive and show a comprehension of the assignment and the material being discussed. The original post should approximate 300 to 400 words. You are also required to respond/comment on one of your fellow-classmates’ initial post. It is important that you are respectful and courteous at all times, any responses found inappropriate by the instructor will be promptly removed and you will be notified. The grades assigned to these discussions result in the overall Participation Grade. Each discussion is worth 10 points. You must participate during the week a thread is assigned in order to receive any credit: That is from Monday through Monday 9am EST of each week. Any comments made after that will not be credited.
Discussion Question 1:
“Understanding Customer Wants and Needs and PEST Analysis” Please respond to the following:
1. Argue whether or not you believe that health care marketers must understand customers and their perceptions of product offerings in order to effectively monitor prowess at addressing and satisfying customer wants and needs. Provide an example of your argument in action to support your rationale.
2. Assess the value and importance of a PEST Analysis as a tool for mentoring and evaluating the macroenvironment. Provide at least two (2) specific examples of PEST Analysis that apply within a health care organization with which you are familiar.
Discussion Question 2:
“Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model” Please respond to the following:
1. Examine the key reasons why intense competition and rivalry characterize the health care industry. Suggest one (1) example to support your rationale.
2. Appraise the value and importance of Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model as a tool for facilitating the understanding and addressing of the competition within the health care industry. Provide at least two (2) specific examples of Michael Porter’s Five Forces Model that apply within a health care organization with which you are familiar.
400-word Discussion
I need a 400-word response to the following:

Survey project Instructions
For this assignment, you will design a survey to investigate social media and a topic of your choosing. Your topic must focus on a specific social media medium (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc.) AND a specific element of social media use. Some example topics:
Facebook and friendship
Instagram and self-presentation
Snapchat and news consumption
Reddit and productivity
Facebook and political engagement
What do I turn in?
In two to three paragraphs, explain your topic, why it is important, and why it can be addressed using a survey. Explain what would make a good sample. Additionally, explain which sampling method would be appropriate. Justify your choices.
Then, using the guidelines discussed in class and in your book (Babbie, chapter 9), create a survey. Questions should be properly formatted.
Please note: You are not actually collecting data. The purpose of this assignment is to demonstrate your survey question writing skills, you knowledge of question types, and your knowledge of variable types.
*** The survey must have a minimum of 30 questions (with response sets). Note:
Five questions must be scale-‐type questions
Five must be semantic differentials
Five must be numeric-‐answer questions
You may choose the format for the remaining 15 questions (don’t forget to include demographics).
*** For each survey question you write, include the following:
(1) A justification of why you are asking the question (what is the question measuring?). This should be accomplished in about one to two sentences.
(2) An explanation of what level of measurement the question involves (nominal, ordinal, scale, or ratio). This should be accomplished in about one sentence.
