1. Discuss changes in the price of prairie oil since the 1940s.
2. Discuss two political innovations (e.g., programs, parties, or ideas) that the prairies have produced.
3. Why was prairie settlement slow in the late 1800’s? What changes led to increased settlement from 1901–1914?
4. Briefly discuss how Central Place Theory applies (or does not apply) to the system of settlements in the census division you studied this
semester. The Census Division is Division 11 in Saskatchewan. Make sure to use proper terminology, and be sure to give examples of real
communities that fall into the system.
