Diabete’s Teaching Plan

Diabetes is a major health problem in the United States and worldwide. Hinkle (2019) estimates
that one in three adults may have the diagnosis of diabetes by the year 2050. Reducing the
burden of diabetes is a goal of Healthy People 2020 (2019). With this information in mind, the
successful management of diabetes depends on self-care and self-management of the person
diagnosed with the disease.
Patient teaching is very important to the management of diabetes. Correct use of insulin, selftesting of glucose, use of other technology such as insulin pumps, and vigilance about
preventing and detecting complications are key teaching topics.
Please choose one of the topics and develop a detailed teaching plan with an emphasis on selfmanagement. Be sure to include a collaborative suggestion for another professional who would
be involved in the teaching plan. Inclusion of culture, client developmental level, and socioeconomic factors should be considered.

Scientific Method Research

The scientific method allows us to pose questions, tests questions, and analyze results. Through
observation and research we begin to understand the world around us. Consider research you
have read about or been a part of and analyze the following in one page: was the scientific
method followed? How?
What pieces were or were not per of it? (Randomization, study type, placebos, etc.)
For the second part, present a research project you would like to propose in approximately one
page. How can it help us learn about basic principles of behavior?
How can you use the scientific method to find and address possible problems in your research
design?

What do you consider are the top three issues facing homeland security today?

For each issue: (3 pgs in body)
1). Identify the issue – answer the “why” you see it as an issue and identify its origin.
2). What impact is it having – where do we see its effects?
3). What is your recommendation on mitigating or eliminating the issue?
Resources. Must have at least three – prefer from reputable or scholarly forums/mediums.
The paper must have a title and bibliography page. These pages are in addition to the three
written pages. You must use Calibri 12 font double-spaced. It should reflect the APA Format and
ensure you cite your sources. No abstract required.
