In this assignment, you will write a two- to three-page (500 to 750 word) paper in which you apply some of the communication-based conflict resolution strategies outlined in your textbook to a conflict in a fictional television program or film.

In your paper,

Define conflict, utilizing
Describe one interpersonal conflict that was not handled effectively in the television episode or film.
Explain how this situation meets the criteria for interpersonal conflict, utilizing Bevan, Section 9.2.
Note: Focus on one exchange that illustrates one conflict and not the entire plot of the episode. If possible, provide some dialogue so the reader can clearly see how the characters handled the situation.
Explain why the conflict was not handled effectively, utilizing Bevan (Chapters 8 and 9).
Describe two strategies outlined in Bevan that the characters used to address the conflict, utilizing Bevan.
Describe two strategies outlined in Bevan that the characters could have used to resolve this conflict more effectively, utilizing Bevan.

The Interpersonal Conflict in Television or Film paper

Must be two to three double-spaced pages in length, which is 500 to 750 words (not including title and references pages) and formatted according to APA Style as outlined in the University Writing Center’s APA Style (Links to an external site.) resource.
Must include a separate title page with the following:
Title of paper
Student’s name
Course name and number
Instructor’s name
Date submitted

Must include an introduction and conclusion paragraph. Your introduction paragraph needs to end with a clear thesis statement that indicates the purpose of your paper.

Must use at Bevan multiple times, including to define conflict and explore ways the characters can overcome it.

Thought Paper

The “Thought Paper” assignments primary focus will be to provide a critical discussion of any particular LABOR MANAGEMENT RELATIONS issue, viewed and examined in depth from the multiple perspectives (alternative points of view). The subject of the paper will be determined by the student’s interest.
Your examination of the issues relating to your subject choice must include:
1). Identification of the Parties involved (non-union/union/management/special interest group/political/international)
2). Define the scale and scope of the issue to be discussed. It should include a discussion analysis from the individual employee, management, workplace and scope of any local or global social, regulatory and other stakeholder considerations.
3). Identify the relevant issue(s) to be discussed. Additional emphasis should be focused on the international political, regulatory, contractual, public opinion, environmental, and or any related economic considerations that may apply.
4). What are or have been the tactics/strategy that the parties have been used. 5). Outcome of issue(s) (if applicable). 6). Critical examination of any outside influences affecting the issue. A review of the public opinion, media concerns, stockholder equity issues, and customer perspective regarding the issue.
7). Success of failure of the strategy and tactics towards a successful resolution of the issue(s).
8).  What would be your strategy, direction and philosophy regarding how you would attempt to resolve this dispute. In addition, identifying the primary interests, issues or concerns of any special interest groups such as, but not limited to: the general public, employees, stockholders, government regulators.
