Do you agree with the author on when to hire a CFO?I do support the author’s opinion on the right time to hire a chief financial officer. A chief financial officer should be hired immediately the firm can afford. Waiting until a firm reaches the tipping point is lethal. Financial operations begin as soon as any firm starts it operation (Elliott and Jamie, 2008, 3). It is therefore necessary to hire a financial officer who looks into the financial and accounting matters of the firm. If the owner and the Chief executive officer of the firm takes a double role things may not work out. This is because a CEO has other more important managerial roles to attend to and hence there will be a deficit in the time dedicated to the financial and accounting matters which are also core to the firm.

Do you think you are getting top quality financial advice at 8 hours a month for $150/hour?

Hiring a financial adviser for eight hours a month is not realistic in a firm. Eight hours a month means that only the crucial financial and accounting matters will be looked into by the expert hired. It thus leaves other matters which are also of important to the firm unattended. This hence creates a vacuum in the accounting department as the hired expert does not comprehensively attend to all the financial matters.

What would you do if this was your company?

If quick office was my company I would have hired a financial officer immediately after its inception. Financial and accounting operations begin with the onset of operations. To ensure the financial matters in the company get a firm foundation, it would be necessary to hire a financial officer at the beginning (Atrill and McLane, 2008, 12). This would enable me as the chief executive attend to other more crucial management matters. It would also ensure that all the accounting and financial work runs smoothly in the company.

The approach of economic reform that Japan is taking is epic in scope with many components that still need to be implemented. If components are not adhered to or implemented correctly, it could have negative impact to not only Japan’s economy but the world economy. Do you agree with this approach? Why or why not?

The approach that Abe Shinzo has taken to reform Japan’s economy is so lame and is not materialistic at all. Deregulating businesses is lethal to the economy as unseen incidences of consumer exploitation are bound to happen which would be lethal to the economy. Excessive taxes imposed on the different traders are bound to discourage both local and foreign investors. This is pronounces a threat even to the world economy as Japan is one of the states whose economies are supportive to the world’s economy. Therefore, we can conclude that if the cards are not played well, Japan and the entire world might end up in an economic crisis and even a financial depression.

A biographical narration of a person can help in digging deep and having an understanding of a person’s life as it entails the details of a person since the time of birth, early life, career life as well as family, education, and achievements. Most of the people have had their biographies written in pamphlets while others have them translated into a film. “What Happened, Miss Simone” is a Netflix based documentary that was produced in the year 2015. It is a biographical film of Nina Simone. Nina Simone was an American singer who later became a civil rights activist moving to Liberia after the turbulence of the 1960s. The documentary combines archived footage that was previously unreleased, as well as the interviews, were done with Miss Simone’s daughter and friends. The documentary’s title was derived from a quote from Maya Angelou. The film was directed by Liz Garbus.

The filmmaker intended to bring out to the people and make them aware of the life of Nina Simone who lived the life of a singer, pianist as well as a civil activist as well as torture. To demonstrate this, the film uses footages of Nina as well as interviews with other people to account and act as witnesses of Miss Simone’s life narrating her journey as a singer and activist. Her father and mother did not show Nina Simone affection and this made her run away from home. She met Miss Mazzy, an English piano teacher who loved Nina as if she was her daughter preparing her for a future in music, as a classical concert pianist. Miss Mazzy even arranged for Nina’s funds allowing her to train at the Juilliard School in New York. Nina’s dream to become a classical pianist was thwarted as she failed to gain a scholarship to further her studies at the Curtis Institute. The main reason as to why she missed the scholarship is because she was poor and besides she was black, therefore rejected on a racial basis. Later her piano teacher Vladimir Sokoloff said that she was denied a chance because there were other better students other than her who needed the scholarship. Having been rejected both by her parents and for the scholarship, Nina developed a lifelong resentment that her talents were not greatly welcomed and continued to endure a life of racial bitterness.

The overall quality of the film is good in that the audios and video footages are in coordination, the actual action in the stage follows the words and as well the audio quality of the film is good. One such example is playing the piano whereby the action gets translated into the sound of the bars depending on the key being pressed. The video quality on the other side varies; some of the scenes have black and white video footages while some of them are colored. The black and white footages are a representation of a flashback or a narration of an event that happened sometimes back, a reminder of memories. Those in colored pictures are current footages that make the film look beautiful and modern. All these aspects in the video make the quality of the video to be of high quality.

The response from the audience that is elicited as a result of the mise-en-scene is that of pity being more emotional. The reason is because of how the story is narrated as well as the emotions triggered by Nina Simone as she performs on stage. She gets emotional especially the phrase ‘You know how I feel’ making the audience more emotional. Nina was a brave woman who was dedicated to her career as a singer, a pianist and an activist that saw her grow to a famous classical artist. The documentary is valid in the sense that the interviews provide a firsthand account of Nina’s life being provided by Nina herself as well as her daughter and this makes the leader believe the information since it is from reliable sources.

The media and technology have made the world a small global village where online or virtue interaction has greatly expanded. This aspect has hindered today’s society in various ways. Today’s society is greatly restricted, due to the media and technology. Interaction has become more difficult because of this. The media must be controlled so that it can’t spoil or otherwise negatively influence society. Technology has allowed us to believe that life will be better than it is. There are also relationships where one partner is much more involved with the internet than the other partner – this not only provides less contact but also causes an imbalance within many relationships.

The use of social media has greatly increased across the world. However, some users of these platforms tend to misuse them and post or share content that tends to violate copyright law or solicits illegal activity, or encourages hate speech. Thus, this paper attempts to discuss how these media influence our society by looking at their positive and negative impacts on users of these platforms. This paper will outline various social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, among others, and the effects of misuse of these platforms on society. Social networking sites are the current trending communication platform; it is possible to find people connected either physically or virtually. These applications allow users to share information about events that occur daily or weekly.

Some aspects of social media are also contributing to racial discrimination in various parts of the world. Racial discrimination is a vice in society that is not often talked about. It has been happening in different parts of the world for centuries, but it still does exist in some areas today. Social media has made it easier than ever for people to say or post things they would never say in person to others. This means that many of the judgments that are made on social media are usually based on pictures or words that show what race the person is. Although discrimination is at an all-time low because of social media, it still does happen and will persist unless society changes how it perceives people with different skin colors (Gallo & Cho, 2021).

Some aspects of social media are affecting the user’s mental health negatively. Mental health issues such as depressive symptoms, anxiety, and alcohol use disorder have been observed on some people using social media platforms. A study conducted in 2015, found that people who spend 10 hours on social media per day are twice more likely to suffer from depression than those who spend 2 hours on social media per day. The researchers also stressed that the age of the user and the use of certain social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram can affect someone’s mental health. The researchers found out that people suffering from depression and anxiety use Facebook and Instagram more than YouTube and Twitter. YouTube and Twitter were used by people suffering from alcohol use disorder and depressive symptoms.

Hours of social media users are also a concern in Today’s society. Many people are using social media for more than 5 hours a day, while some use it for almost 16 hours. Studies show that there are six main platforms that 80% of Americans visit daily. These platforms are Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and Tumblr. Social media is not all bad but constant usage can lead to depression and anxiety in some cases. It’s good to use social media every once in a while but it’s not healthy to spend 16 hours on one app or network every day. The media and technology not only does it affect the mental health of the users but also the physical health of the user. Some people such as children and teenagers tend to spend most of their day using media and technology, which can lead to an increase in risk for obesity (Tao & Fisher, 2021). The physical effects on people are not seen immediately but the impact of technology is seen more in young children and teenagers. One of these effects on our physical health is obesity. Obesity is a complex disease that has many factors that contribute to its occurrence. People who are obese have an increased risk of cardiovascular diseases including heart attacks, strokes, hypertension, diabetes, several types of cancer including prostate cancer and certain types of gastrointestinal cancers as well as a metabolic syndrome which can cause early-onset dementia for those with high cholesterol or diabetes.

The use of technology and the internet have resulted in an eruption of new kinds of crime. Social media is a novel medium for communication and interaction. It can also be used for malicious purposes to commit a crime. More crimes are being committed using social media than you might think. Social media has changed the way we live by influencing how we communicate, spend our time, date, work, and express ourselves creatively – it’s so much more than just Facebook or Instagram. This blog post will provide information on the various types of crimes that are being committed through social media platforms (Gladwell, 2011).

There are various bodies responsible for ensuring that social media and other internet platforms are free from bullying, cyber-bullying, violence, and crime. They aim to maintain the integrity of the platforms that are used by society for communication, academic achievement, personal development, and research. However; these regulations are often wide-reaching in their reach with considerable consequences for those who neglect their responsibilities on these platforms. For example; social media regulations make it an offense to use a platform if one has any part of them under 18 years old unless one has parental consent which usually requires paperwork or an online form to be sent in which they need to confirm their decision before they can access the service.

In conclusion, technology and media play a vital role in today’s society. It has helped in enhancing efficiency in undertaking various tasks. It has increased virtual interaction among people and greatly reduced physical interaction among them. Social media and technology are hindering today’s society in various ways. There are some restrictions imposed on employees by their employers. Private information is misused by technology companies for advertisement and commercial purposes. It has weakened our family and social relationships. Hence, it is necessary to regulate and monitor social media and technology to make them an aid rather than a hindrance in today’s fast-moving world.
