Instructions
Read the following situation:
A critical care nurse is in a hurry to finish her morning meds after her patient’s condition changed and she was intubated. The patient has a nasogastric tube and the nurse decides to crush the pills. In her haste, she fails to notice the alert on the patient’s electronic record that says: do not shred. She crushes a tablet of a time-release calcium channel blocker. An hour later, the patient goes into asystole and dies.
