Describe how your issue has developed over time, giving some historical background. Show where it stands today and why it is an important issue. Do you think changes need to be made? What would you suggest? Why?

Find specific laws, regulations, and court decisions related to your topic. Analyze the effects on American society.
You MUST include some mention of the fundamental American values, and how those values are seen/not seen in your issue. Include some specific
references to articles in the Constitution and relevant Amendments.
Mention some of the different government agencies and citizen groups involved in the criminal justice system and describe their involvement in the issue you’ve chosen
In addition to content, I will be looking at spelling, grammar, and readability. Your paper must flow logically: Introduction, Body, Conclusion, References.

Use at least 2 charts, tables or graphs that support your position (this can be taken from a source but must be cited). They cannot be larger than one-quarter of a page.
List references at the end of the paper (at least 6 sources, plus your textbook = 7 sources minimum)
Double space, 12-pt font, Times New Roman
8 pages of writing can include quarter-page graphs/tables/charts. Endnotes and References are not counted in the 8 pages.
