Final Exam Guidelines

Final Exam Guidelines:

In one long essay that takes you minimum three hours to write and revise, cite nine (9) important passages referencing major themes from Garcia Marquez, Conde, and Singer… three (3) passages from each text.

Type in Word or etc, then paste directly into the body of a blackbaord message and send to me by noon.

As always, cite evidence with page numbers – and in this case, authors’ last names – in parentheses.

Note: "passages" imply long-ish/multiple paragraphs from the text; not just a sentence or two. They can also include dialogue with (an)other character(s).

Analyze and interpret each of these passages, making connections between each of the texts. How does each represent a major theme from each text…

For instance, if you are citing a passage from Garcia Marquez, how does that passage connect to major themes in "100 Years…," but also in "Segu" and "…Moskat".

Follow this paragraph structure for your final essay::

– Brief introductory paragraph

– Nine (9) paragraphs (one per "important" passage)

– Brief concluding paragraph
