Globalisation Social Justice and Education

Globalisation Social Justice and Education

Globalisation, Social Justice and Education (course) Outline and evaluate some of the key features of MOOCs.

In recent decades, changes in technology, political arrangements, and economic systems have occurred across the globe, and have been much commented on and felt by people everywhere. Many of these changes have been so rapid, radical and far-reaching that they are said to have ushered in a new era of ‘globalisation’. Often presented as inevitable, the transformation of societies under globalisation has been undermined by global financial crises and resisted by a range of political movements. There is considerable debate in this area of study, even over the meaning of globalisation itself. This course seeks to help students gain an understanding of the origins and nature of what has become known as globalisation, and to explore some of its implications for education. We hope you will find it thought provoking, enlightening and enjoyable.
