Measuring and monitoring safety in hospitals

Measuring and monitoring safety in hospitals (so, the focus is on secondary/tertiary care) NOT primary care.
1- Briefly describe the importance of the measurement and monitoring of patient safety in hospitals. For example, to better understand how individual
hospitals are performing, as well as the use of measurement as part of evaluating patient safety interventions. (around 250 words)
2- (around 3500 on the following) Introduce the Vincent et al’s Measuring and Monitoring Safety (MMS) framework
You will need to go into quite a lot of detail on this, as it forms the basis of the thesis. You need to justify why you are using the Vincent et al framework, and also talk about the theoretical foundation. So, the subsections are:
• Brief intro to the framework
• Theoretical foundation- briefly outline the theories/models from the health foundation report- one paragraph on each.
• Describe each dimension of Vincent et al’s Measuring and Monitoring Safety (MMS) framework
• Finish with why you are basing your thesis on this framework.
