Introduction: This assignment offers a practical look at some of the issues and concerns involving healthcare management. Make sure to plan enough time to contact someone for an interview, to prepare for the interview, and have time for the write-up. If you have difficulty finding someone who has been a manager for less than a year, let your instructor know.

Description: Conduct an interview of a manager who has been a manager for less than a year. Ask questions related to the transition to management. Your paper should present (in an organized, narrative fashion) what you learned from your interview. It should not simply be a transcript of your interview. Think of it this way: Your interview questions and the answers you receive are the data that your essay is organizing, reporting on, and summarizing. Occasional quotes from the interview is fine to support key points. In addition, provide at least a paragraph or two summarizing your impressions of the interview and what you learned from the conversation.
