Dear Ms. White,
Re: Expression of Interest for the Position of Counselor and Social Worker at the Orbit Project
I am delighted to submit my application for the position named above.
Upon learning there was an opportunity in your esteemed organization to give back to society as a social worker with the Orbit Project, I did not think twice about writing to you. Having three years of experience as a licensed social worker at High-Hope Community Mental Health, I have acquired the necessary skill set for this position to help vulnerable people. This position is of interest to me because nothing gives me more satisfaction than giving back to my community, and securing this counselor position at the Orbit Project is the perfect way to do this.
You noted that you are searching for a social worker with experience working cases independently and assessing social service needs, which I excel in. As a social worker at High-Hope Mental Health, I have handled over 300 cases, from interviewing all the way to post-treatment monitoring. In my first year, I raised the treatment completion rate to 83% from 67%. My area of specialization is abuse and addiction cases. My experiences have taught me adaptation and discretion skills that come in handy when dealing with sensitive information for the benefit of the client. I am a licensed clinical social worker who graduated with a 3.9 GPA in Masters in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. I have the transferrable skills that make me a good fit for the counselor and social worker in your organization.
In line with this, please find enclosed a copy of my resume, which I hope will interest you. I am available for an interview and will be happy to receive an invitation for a face-to-face, Skype, or phone interview.
I look forward to receiving positive feedback from you.
Sincerely,
Susan Franklin
