We have discovered an oil field in one of Australia’s Marine Protected Areas near to shore. The field is 500m away from the shore and water depth is 2000m. Oil reservoir is 1000m below sea floor. Below figure show the first drilling proposal which is costly and also raised a big concern in the public toward marine life. Your boss is asking you to propose an alternative drilling plan. Explain your drilling plan and suggest which rig should be used, and why.
