Tourism is an industry that provides entertainment and travel facilities for people distant from their homes. Tourist is a traveler who is aimed at recreation such as sightseeing or a holiday (Trotman 2000, p.1).Tourism is a direct or in direct contact agent between cultures and results to changes in the developing world. Imperialism results where the alien society adopts religious, military, political or economic interests which are marked by the flow of power, the natives may voluntarily accept the tourists’ actions. Tourism is not confined to modern or industrial society but it is a persuasive social aspect. The productivity level sustains leisure. Tourism involves creation of tourist areas and transactions between tourist areas and productive centers. The transactions results to several consequences. Technology has led to higher productivity leading to development of travel facilities, and leisure classes. The result of industrial development has led to great productivity, with broad horizons and high social mobility to facilitate tourism. People have developed a desire to tour but it depends on the opportunity due to unequal distribution of resources. Therefore, industrialized societies tour continually although it may be interrupted temporarily by political, economic and military conditions (Smith 1989, p.38).
Tourist sites depend on the resources and needs of the people and productive centers. They are selected according to the purpose and accessibility. Native people participate in the establishment of tourism expansion. Cheap and adequate transport facilitates travel to the sites which should be different to satisfy the tourists’ needs. This could be described as beauty, charm, or excitement to meet the needs or expectations. Native people participate in creation of resorts and their resistance really matters. The indigenous people may use their power to promote or prevent touristic relationships. This affects nature and existence of tourism depending on their cooperation and development. The hosts and tourists are separated by strangeness, leisure distinction, and cultural differences. Tourists are not expected to adapt to the host society and the burden goes to the hosts which they choose to handle. This may lead to compromising their values and morals ((Smith & Robinson 2006 p.143).
Consequences of tourism result from the nature of contact between the parties. The parties, involved are different in power and productivity leading to a new social-cultural reality. The natives must adapt to the classes and groups in which they have to cater for their transport, accommodation, sort their problem s and make leisure provisions. The hosts may have social and psychological conflict due to unfulfilled expectations and competition involved ((Smith 1989, p.48). Existence and creation of mobile leisure class may result to heightened discontent or awakening and this may have psychological effects to the tourist. In the movie, the white tourists are paying attention to the native villagers, and take their photos. They then offer them some little money. The villagers have no choice but to adapt to their way of life and be friendly to them. This shows how the hosts are affected by tourism where they have to compromise their morals for the sake of impressing the tourists. This may affect their psychological and social-cultural system as a result of racism, class system and inequality (‘Cannibal Tours’). Touristic evolution results fro m endogenous and exogenous forces. Exogenous force emanate from metropolitan centre and address needs, sites creation and tourist host transactions. The hosts vary in enthusiasm in adaptation to social-cultural and service economy. These produce intrapersonal as well as interpersonal disjunctions giving a source of change which is endogenous (Gavin & Phipps, 2005 p.7).

Tough guise
Abstract
The media currently play an imperative role in the learning environment. Tough guise is an educational video that has been instrumental in underscoring the relationship between culture and development of masculinity. According to the video, male dominance is a social aspect that has been pervasive in the society since ancient times. Men have always been presented as being strong physically as well as tough and powerful. This perception is ingrained in the societal culture, values and norms. As such, men are expected to conform to the preceding attributes at all times. In particular, young boys are exposed to tough situations and are expected by the society to remain not only strong but also unemotional. This according to the video has had far reaching implications on the wellbeing of the male gender. In this regard, this can be used to explain why they in most cases engage in violent and criminal activities. Nonetheless, the society perceives this to be normal and expects men as opposed to women to engage in violence.

Tough guise
Tough guise is an educational video that tries to explain the relationship between the pop culture and the development of masculinity in today’s society. It is a video that was released in 1999 but it is still very popular in the education systems. The video examines the masculine dominance that has been invisible for a long time. The video shows how the male population has always been represented to be dominant over all through examples in the features and books that have been published. Men are always brought up while being fed on the information that they are suppose to be tough, strong, powerful and physical. They are taught to conform to these roles and the media makes it worse by showcasing men in this light making violence to appear to be the norm of the masculine being in the society. Criminal activities experienced in the society today are majorly committed by men. From the video it is very true that the more crimes are not mentioned as having been committed by men against the other members of the society; the more it is taken to be the normal norm. Men continue to be shown as powerful by the media, for example in movies such as batman and superman, making the young boys watching want to imitate such roles. The media continues to showcase men as the tough guys with the greatest and biggest guns executing crimes (Pezzote, 2008).
The mentality that is instilled in boys when they are still young that they are supposed to be tough, strong and unemotional is the major cause of the increase in crime today. According to Katz, boys that are abused in their tender age end up being perpetrators in crime and becoming delinquents at an early age. The information portrayed in the media of men being tough or moving from one state of toughness to a tougher person has also contributed a lot to the development of masculinity seen today. For example the video games and the kind of programs aired on television today influence the behavior of the men in the society. For example programs like superman and batman shows that a tough guy can have it all, and puts admiration in the minds of the young boys who will want to be tough to ape the people seen in the media.
The best part of Katz video is the conclusion part where he provides hope for the kind of posturing men are taking. He gives examples of good movies that show men as normal people with a kind heart and a more sensitive side to them. The video creates the impression that the media contributes a lot to the violent behavior of men and the society has taken the violent masculinity to be the norm. The society pretending that such a behavior is cultural normal has led to the escalation of violence. Examples used in the video are of videos, news or programs aired by the media showing its high contribution on the subject. Katz video can be said to be a reflection of today’s society especially with the kind of things seen in the media. The high rate of crime such as rape and shootings that take place in the streets today are some of the experiences that we witness in the society. The fact that such crimes have increased greatly with the increase in technology shows that the popular culture has contributed largely to the way men identify themselves. It shows that the popular culture has influenced men to be tough and violent because of what they learn through watching the programs in the media and the values that the society presents regarding the masculine gender.

Touchdown Clubs and Athletic Booster Clubs
Touchdown Clubs and Athletic Booster Clubs
It is with great pleasure that I take this moment to welcome you all to this forum. The forum will be based on the issue of supporting the football teams and clubs in our schools. As we all know, football is one of the extra curriculum activities in many schools and people should not look at it as a waste of time and resources. It is through these activities that the students interact socially and it is an activity that brings people together after the daily routine of reading books.
It is sad to know that many of the management teams look down upon these extra curriculum activities during the allocation of the money in the various departments. In most cases they will allocate in order of preference and apparently most of them regard the football clubs and other clubs as the last preference. They find the extra curriculum activities as a waste of time and this should not be the case. It goes with the saying that “All work without play makes Jack a dull boy.” Children should not be denied their time of playing as this is what gives them the energy and the motivation to work harder in class work. If we were to take a look at the school performance statistics the schools that perform well in their studies also do very well in the curriculum activities. This shows how physical activities are very essential in the determination of the school work performance and should therefore not be assumed.
As Clover Touchdown Club we have discovered that there are kids who have the potential to become great footballers but do not have the opportunity. The reasons can either be the school does not have the resources to fund the football club through buying the necessary kits and equipments or the school has the resources but neglects the whole idea of supporting the team. These are some of the children that we would love to support as a team so that we can help in the building of their talents. However we are not in the position to support all these children on our own because we also have our own needs as a team. These children will require training which as a team we are ready to offer voluntarily. They will also require the necessary football kits and this means another expenditure on our part. We sacrifice to use the savings that are available to fund these requirements so as to ensure that the team members are comfortable. However we cannot fully depend on the small savings available as these should be in store for future emergencies. This was the main reason as to why we called upon for this meeting in request of the school’s management team to assist in the funding of the football club.
As leaders we know it is essential to place the first priority as the education. This is the reason why we only take a small percentage of the overall learning hours to train the students as this also provide physical exercise. Our club has always strived to become and maintain the position of a booster club. Such a club is one which will always raise money not for their well being only but for the well being of others too. A booster club usually puts 100% of all the money raised to the school programs to assist the young potential footballers. However we cannot manage all this work alone and that is why we are calling upon the school to act as a sponsor towards the Clover touchdown club and if possible to access other external sponsors who are willing to support the team. As you all are aware, the Clover touchdown club comprises of the alumni, past, present and future parents of the players. These are the first people who should be working towards the well being of this team and am sure that many of you are present today. Let us not look at the team as burden among our needs but rather an obligation among our needs. This is a team that is present to build the future of your children both physically and education wise.
Sometimes many schools have reason to have that attitude towards the games especially during the competitions. This is because in other cases the competing teams will be required to make certain contributions which will be used to reward the winning teams. If for example Clover school does not win, it is a loss to them as they will not get the money. Conversely, they should not have a bad attitude towards the loss as they have the potential to take the lead next time. This is one of the issues that have led to many schools neglecting the games and cutting out sports completely so as to cater for other tighter budgets. We should not advocate for such an attitude because not one team will always win. This also goes with the saying that “One man’s luck is another man’s loss.”
Many are the times we have thought of making sales in the schools so as to raise funds but the Clover school has discouraged us from this activity. It is not fair to the club when we are called upon to raise the necessary funds and yet the ways to raise them have been limited. We are ready to assist in any way possible because our main objective is to volunteer to aid even financially. The Clover touchdown club comprises of a group of valuable people who volunteer to ultimately assist the kids in the best way possible. As a team we also recognize and support the team athletes and the staff involved in the particular games. Our volunteering also involves assisting the needy children financially through buying them the necessary equipments and kits for the football activities. For example we provide a 2500 scholarship to a football player every year as a way of their recognition.
As a team we are aware that the school management cannot cater for the football expenses fully as they are too many. That is where we come in and assist in reducing such costs. We volunteer to train the children for no costs and once the students advance to better levels, we recruit them into our club. We work through this having one goal in mind, to assist and support the football players and program as much as we can. In respect to this, Clover touchdown club members want to cooperatively work together with Clover school district and Clover athletics boosters to sustain the Clover High School Football Program. However we need the support of the school management so that we can be a strong and united team. That is why I will take this opportunity to request the schools not to deny the students the rights in participating in the extra curriculum activities. Let us work together to ensure the well being of our children through supporting them because as we all know they are the leader of tomorrow. Clover touchdown club will continue to offer its support both physically and financially with positive attitude.
Nevertheless, whether there is support or not, Clover touchdown club will always work to maintain the programs by way of encouragement of activities and presence, in form of financial assistance when need be and providing volunteers when necessary. This is the only way to fulfill our objectives and goals.
