Hauptmann, Stefan and Steger, Thomas. “A brave new (digital) world.” Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication 13, 1(2012): 210- 310
This article gives us a clear analysis about the workplace changes that have been brought by the social media. Hauptmann and Steger use the term computer aided communication to refer to the communication methods that do not require virtual presence of the sender and the receiver. In Hauptmann and Steger’s views, social media has a great potential of influencing employees’ behavior than traditional organizational IT environments. The article utilizes two case studies to analyze the constraints and the possible benefits of the social media. The article suggests that social media can be used for knowledge management purposes. At the same time it can be used to bring together employees who work in fragmented workplaces. In addition, the article suggests that due to its continuous data storage and easily accessible history function, social media can be used in making important decision-making in an organization. However, the article points out that social media platform can blur the line private work and private life. The article is right on this issue bearing in mind that some organizations have banned the use of social media platforms in their workplaces. In order to reap the benefits of social media, Hauptmann, and Steger, advises that organization should create an adequate environment and put in place rules of conduct to guide the communication behavior. While the article provides us with clear insights on the likely benefits of social media in an organization, it does not use a strong methodology framework. In particular, the researchers used scanty data to compare the difference between social media frames and face-to-face interactions.

Analysis of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra live from Berlin, Opening concert of Musikfest Berlin 2013
The touch, peace, and beauty of traditional classical music concerts have enabled their relevance for the longest time. Classical music composers use their pieces to portray how society was when they lived. They are timeless because they express the profound civilization conceptualization. Additionally, classical music concerts expand the mind and imaginations of their audience. It also nurtures the soul and encourages self-expression, thus enhancing self-esteem and a sense of connection (Chun-Fu, Chen &Hsin-Yun Hu, 66). The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra live from Berlin, Opening concert of Musikfest is one of the special classical music concerts ever. During an interview after the concert, most of the audience agreed that it was one of the best they had ever attended. The performance and delivery of traditional classical music are vital because they determine the audience’s mood and attention.
The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Opening Musikfest concert was held in Germany, Berlin in 2013, at the virtual Digital Concert Hall in Philharmonie. The concert was conducted by the Australian music director of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Manfred Honeck, while the violin was played by a German violinist, Anne-Sophie Mutter. The program for the concert began with Janaček: Suite for String Orchestra, followed by the Lutosławski: Chain 2, Dialogue for Violin and Orchestra, and finally ended the night with a performance titledStrauss: Ein Heldenleben, Opus 40 (Performance Today, 2013). The concert was fascinating because it maintained a consistent flow to the end. The Berlin audience seemed impressed by the performance because of their reaction during and after the concert. Nearly all the audience members were glued to the players of various instruments at the concert under the conductor Manfred Honeck. A good flow facilitated by in-sync instruments plays a crucial role in making a concert successful and memorable. The conductor worked hand in hand with the violinist and managed to pull it off and satisfy their audiences throughout the concert.
The concert was exciting to listen to and watch. The different players in the arena were energetic, enthusiastic, and dedicated to delivering the best performance. They all came together and conveyed a unanimous message to the audience through their breathtaking performance. Different pieces under the name program were performed in the concert. Program notes that contained different messages for the different pieces were also used to refer to them. The program notes used for the first program constituted the piece’s debut; the second program note was made up of the piece’s history, while the third program note entailed the history of the piece’s composer (Performance Today, 2013). It is essential to remember that The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Opening Musikfest concert was organized by different stakeholders as a charity event to help raise funds to establish a civilization monument. Part of the proceeds was also channelled to constructing a mental healthcare and wellness facility to control the increased rates of depression and consequent suicide rates reported in Berlin.
The players in the arena were dressed appropriately and looked appealing from the audience’s stance. Each with their respective instruments sat in an orderly manner facing the conductor because he foresees and provides guidance on the keys and notes to hot during the orchestra performance (Wald-Fuhrmann et al., 34). The uniformity and arrangement of the players contributed to the liking of the piece altogether. The orchestra adopts a homophonic form because it facilitates apparent simplicity and symmetry. Other forms like the polyphony form pave the way for regularly phased-out and measured tunes that most audiences don’t find intriguing or captivating. The players’ controlled their intonation and dynamic range, adding spice to the concert (Swarbrick et al., 172). The use of different musical instruments simultaneously was also top-notch. Each player was aware of their next move hence synchronizing with the rest of the crew from the beginning to the concert’s end. Watching and listening to the lead violinist control her hands and hit the extreme high and low notes perfectly throughout the concert was memorable. It was a powerful experience because it soothed my soul and allowed me to connect with my emotions and let them reign as the concert unfolded.
The Lutosławski: Chain 2, Dialogue for Violin and Orchestra stood out among the three programs performed during the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. This piece was charming because its melody construction was unique to the rest of the sounds. The composer adopted regular phrasing, which implies that it was constructed with regular bar lengths and even. The larger forms in the program were characterized by a tonic, dominant relationship pull, and a powerful tonal system (Schedl Markus et al., 510). Additionally, perfection in the piece’s flow showed that the composer successfully explored the piece’s rhythmic, harmonic, melodic, and textural aspects. The cadence in the program was distinctly marked to facilitate smooth flows and transitions throughout the concert. Moreover, the perfection of The Lutosławski: Chain 2, Dialogue for Violin and Orchestra was achieved through shortening and making the music lighter throughout the program. Incorporating more than one instrument, synchronizing them, and using a well-thought-out classical song composition ensured the piece was worth remembering for the longest time.
Conclusion
Being part of The Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra concert and understanding the message conveyed in every note was an informative and fascinating experience. The deep connection with the different programs brought different emotions and made me vulnerable without judgment. It also connected me to the different audience members in the concert because it allowed us to share our emotions and comprehend the intended message of the concert. The concert was also an eye-opener to encourage more young people to give traditional classical music concerts their attention because it’s worth their time. Traditional classical music is a creative living history that binds people and gives a sense of direction. Therefore, it is necessary to nurture a generation enthusiastic about this music category as they carry heavy and relevant messages that prove essential for an individual’s growth and well-being. The concert was definitely a moment I would cherish for the rest of my life. I intend to continue attending the traditional classical music concerts and orchestras because they are informative, emotionally engaging, and a good form of entertainment at the same time.

Social Justice In The Book Of Micah
Social Justice In The Book Of Micah
Social justice is justice that is exercised within a society and in particular it is to be exercised among and by the various social classes in society. A society that is socially just is one that has advocacy and practices that are based on principles of solidarity and equality. Social justice also requires that a just society is one that understands and values human rights and upholding dignities of human beings. Most people suffer because of social injustices; wealth and resources are based on inequality, racism as well as wars. The social injustices are not just personal failings but as a result of social structures that have created losers and winners within the society. The sin of social injustice is repeated by many prophets in the bible including Micah who emphasize on how the underclass are neglected and this are for instance widows, orphans, foreigners and so on.
This paper will therefore look at a biblical correlation of the issue of social justice from the book of Micah as well as the interpretation of social justice on a personal application. The book of Micah specifies some specific sins that God rebuked his people this are both vertical as well as horizontal. Vertical sins are those that deal with people’s direct relationship with God while horizontal sins are those that deal with how people relate to others .among the vertical sins that Micah rebuked are idolatry; the people of Samaria were rebuked for their worship of idols (Bratcher, 2011).The prophets of the time of Micah also accepted money for their oracles this was an outright indication of idol worship. The horizontal sins were; internal corruption that was seen among the leaders of the nation, this included priests, prophets, judges and other rulers. Among their corrupt acts were lies, hypocrisy, bribery, robbery and greed. Micah also saw the people’s unfaithfulness and the fact that they lacked a sense of social justice and through this fact they were prevented from hearing the message of God. The people were guilty of deceit and dishonesty; they used false weights and measures which was advantageous to them. Those who were wealthy used violence so that they could advance their plans to continue gaining unjustly. It is clearly evident from the book of Micah that God does not fail to notice how we treat one another (Garcia, 2011).
People’s vertical relationship has a great impact on their horizontal relationship. God requires people to do justice this implies that they are meant to set the wrong things right and always do the right thing; they should be fair and honest between themselves. God also requires his people to practice faithful love or love kindness. People are expected by God to love others even in situations that people have done nothing to warrant them being loved. God expects people to love others just as God loves his people. God also expects his people to walk humbly with him this means that they are expected to submit to the will of God. A person that practices justice and love faithfully can walk humbly with God. From the book of Micah we see how the people behaved and lived. Their actions all go against God’s will and the covenant with them; the covenant was conditional which implied that God will directly bless those who obey him and curse those who disobey him. In the book of Micah there are reminders of the conditions that had been set by God when he made promises to Abraham, the directions he had given to Israel through Moses and finally the fact that God requires them to fear him, walk in his ways as well as serve him. Therefore, their actions are a direct disobedience to what was expected to them by God (Garcia, 2011).
An individual’s relationship with God directly impacts one’s treatment of others this means that anyone whose relationship with God is firm will be willing to walk humbly with God and therefore do what his will requires. Therefore, they will do justice to everyone; they would love one another and treat people kindly. Therefore, people who obey God will love mercy and act according to what mercy requires of them which include kindness, benevolence and charity. They will also act justly by giving people what is justly theirs (Dillinger, 2004). Micah’s message was not only relevant to Israel but it is also relevant to Christians today; most of the political, religious and business leaders are still committing the same sins as the Israelites. Today Christians are guilty of spiritual idolatry and most of them worship other things or people apart from God. They make up lies in exchange for God’s truth. According to Micah, the solution to all social ills that include economic injustice as well as moral degradation is only for people to turn back to God and hi word of truth. If only leaders and ordinary people love God and neighbors then the society will be a better place with no form of social injustice in existence. God is concerned with the weak either physically or social economically and therefore he expects us as Christians to help and defend such people.
Currently there are various underclass people and in particular the number of homeless people has been rising at a rate that is quite alarming. There are various ways that in can show God’s love to the homeless. First I can share food with them since they might not be in a position to obtain food. Secondly I can try to enroll them in institutions that offer shelters to the homeless and ensure that they are considered when allocations are done. Finally I can go spend time with them so that they do not feel left out or rejected in any way by the society.
