The focus of this paper is to provide an analysis of climate change as a global issue. The paper looks at an aspect of climate change that has been addressed in the United Nations conference in Durban. The topic in this case addresses the issue of global warming and its effects on the environment. The paper finally provides a concluding paragraph that summarizes the contents of the analysis.
Climate change is simply the change of the environments climatic conditions. The environment is filled with natural features and resources that maintain its correct temperature. This temperature should not be tampered with in that it is pivotal for the sustainability of human life. Over the years, the earth has succumbed to human activity which is harmful to the natural state of the climate. This activity reduces the value of the environment making its lifespan reduce as a result. There are several effects of climate change that the general population faces. One of the factors that the globe faces is the issue of global warming (Metz, p. 265).
Global warming is the change of the earth’s normal temperature. This change is brought about by the activity of living things in the environment. The biggest culprit in this case is the activities of human beings. Over the years human beings have coexisted with each other. This coexisting is responsible for interaction which resulted in globalization. Globalization is the interaction of different communities due to development. Globalization exposes society to a number of advantages which contribute the growth and sustainability of the earth. Despite the immense advantages that come with the trade, globalization is responsible for the increase in global warming (Metz, p. 214).
Globalization contributes to the increased urbanization which in turn increases the demands for household commodities. House hold commodities require substances such rich in carbon dioxide to be functional. These substances are emitted through the use of refrigerators, vehicles and vacuum cleaners. The use of these substances is harmful to the environment due to their reaction with the other gaseous substances. One of the results of these reactions is the depletion of the ozone layer. The ozone layer serves as the protective layer of the earth’s atmosphere. The depletion of the ozone results in the exposure of dangerous ultraviolet rays to the environment. These rays are hazardous to the safety of human beings due to the dangerous effects of the sun. This in turn, contributes to the exposure of human beings to eye problems, skin cancer and improper functioning of the body.
Biodiversity is an important aspect in terms of the future of the environment. Biodiversity represents a variety of species in the earth’s environment. It is essential to sustain this element so as to improve the environmental conditions. The ozone layer is therefore one of the most significant features to the future of the earth’s living creatures. Its presence is pivotal to the sustainability of all living things in the environment. The future of these species continues to be threatened due to the climate change. The Durban climate conference addresses the future of biodiversity and the effects of climate change. The conference has proved to be disappointing due to the lack of corporation by western countries. This is ironic because the western countries are infamous for the emission of carbon products to environment. It is thus ideal for such countries to recognize global warming a threat to the future of living things (Griffin, p. 143).
In conclusion, the environment is responsible for the safety of all living creatures. As human beings, we are responsible for the proper maintenance of the environment. The United Nations conference is ideal for the monitoring of human activities. Countries should thus be encouraged to observe the rules and regulations of the conference so as to improve the present climatic conditions.

Introduction
The thought or mention of Romeo and Juliet brings the thought of Romance and the strong love that defied all challenges and barriers. The story features Romeo who is a Montague and Juliet who is a Capulet hence their families fail to agree. However, the two falls in love and are united through marriage by a Friar. Their unity led to more misunderstandings, cause violence and lead to death. The themes of the story depict a tragedy rather than a romantic story due to the violent, ecstatic and overpowering force that supersedes all other values and loyalties of the society (Shakespeare, 1964). The events lead to an unhappy ending with the downfall of the main characters showing that love is not only about romance but can also lead to death.
Romeo and Juliet defied their social world including family, friends and even their ruler that led to negative consequences and a tragic ending. The love the two shared was strong and failed to consider the external parties within their environment. According to Shakespeare’s line 860 to 862, Juliet tells Romeo that, “Deny thy father and refuse thy name, Or, if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, And I’ll no longer be a Capulet” (Shakespeare, 2008). From the statement, Juliet is ready to deny her family as long as Romeo denies his father. Also, Romeo is exiled by the prince on pain and death thus forced to return to Verona for Juliet’s sake. The existence of love between Romeo and Juliet leads to the betrayal of family and friends and also defying social values.
The love between the two characters led to violence in that the characters are blinded and think about themselves which overwhelms them and increases the thought of death and suicide. Due to the hate between the Montague and Capulet families, Tybalt wishes to kill Romeo but ends up being killed by Romeo. The act leads to more intentions of death as Lady Capulet states that, “Romeo slew Tybalt; Romeo must not live” (Shakespeare, 2008). Therefore, the hatred between the families and the unwillingness for Juliet and Romeo to be together increased the enmity between the families causing more tragedy. As Juliet states, “Give me my Romeo, and when I shall die, Take him and cut him out in little stars, and he will make the face of heaven so fine” (Shakespeare, 2008). She expected tragedy.
At the end of the story, Shakespeare presents the two lovebirds’ deaths, as each one intends to be with the other. The scene shows a tragedy through three people deaths. Juliet’s father forces her to get married to Count Paris, the Prince’s Kingsman. Since she loved Romeo, she takes a portion that would make her appear dead. Friar was expected to send a message to Romeo to tell him about the plan for him to come back for Juliet. However, the plan fails as Romeo gets the message but thinks that Juliet is dead. He purchases illegal to poison and when he gets to the tomb, and Paris stops him from seeing Juliet, he kills him, gets into the tomb, drinks the poison and dies beside Juliet. As she wakes up and sees Romeo’s body, she takes his dagger and says, “O, happy dagger, this is thy sheath. There rust, and let me die” (Shakespeare, 2008). She then stabs herself and dies.
Conclusion
Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy as the characters fail to enjoy the love, they share but instead lead to hatred, violence and death. The love makes Romeo and Juliet deny their families and friends and live against societal values. The characters who try to get involved in their relationship end up dying. This includes Tybalt and Paris who are both killed by Romeo. At the end of the story, Romeo and Juliet commit suicide at the tomb, after Juliet’s plan fail to occur as they wanted. Therefore, the story depicts a tragedy of deaths and violence that affects the society and the families of the characters.

An Analysis of “To Sensibility” Lines 37-40
Yet tho’ her soul must griefs sustain
Which she alone can know;
And feel the keener sense of pain
Which sharpens every woe; (Williams 37-40)
In lines 37-40 of “To Sensibility”, the speaker appeals to the emotions within her. I understood the passage to be an embracing of deep emotional pain. The speaker seems to be motivating herself to partake a painful encounter. She is also aware of the fact that only she knows of the pain and then keep it a secret. The use of the words grief, alone, pain, and sharp are indicative of the speaker’s connection to personal grief. Lines 37-40 serve to further augment the idea within the larger poem of a passionate and emotional individual, one that accepts, embraces, and lives within her own grief and pain.
Through the speaker, lines 37-40 indicate an intersection of grief and loneliness. The relationship between the pain, the grief and the loneliness all appear to be complicated. However, loneliness, as a notion, is presented as deeply personal. Therefore, as the speaker slowly takes the reader through her mind frame, I see a formation of connection that forces one to link their deepest pain or grief with what the speaker describes in the said lines and within the entire poem.
There is a uniqueness that emerges from the way the speaker describes the experiences in the third person. Arguably, one could argue that the pain, grief, loneliness, and sorrow are too great for a person to understand them from a third person view. I therefore see the use of third person as a way to hide some of her pain and to own the entire process through narrating it in a way that hides her direct involvement. Alternatively, this can be seen to be indicative of the speaker’s understanding of pain.
The level of pain that the speaker narrates seems to point towards an individual familiar with finding solace in pain, being alone, and grief. The speaker’s frequent use of these words to appeal to the emotions indicate some level of contentment, familiarity, and happiness that come from embracing pain, grief, sorrow, and loneliness. These elements, although commonly seen as depressive, forge the greatest and strongest of people. While they interrupt social relationships, they force one to confront their fears, dreams, demons, and other storms of life. Essentially, I presume that the entire poem was written after an episode of life that left the speaker broken, yet stronger. Lines 37-40 indicate a need to let the heart bleed, walking the entire journey alone, embracing the pain and outcomes of the process, and in the end bringing an end to distress and sorrow.
The speaker points a number of times to the emotions of life, greatly leaning towards sorrowful words to depict the pain and loneliness that are present in the phase of life described. The speaker is keen to portray the subjective emotional and psychological pain that the described person has gone through when her network of social ties was considerably inadequate either in numbers or quality. She seems to be aware of the emotional toll that such human processes may cause, thus causing one to begin defining happiness from a point of view of the pain and grief around them. In Lines 37-40, similar to the entire poem, the speaker is directly seeking to establish a connect between a person’s pain and how their surrounding remains oblivious of these issues.
While the speaker does not equate the experiences of the described person to despair, she seems to be considering giving up. The entire poem has an eerie feeling around it and Lines 37-40 only preempt the fact that the described individual has gone through a lot, yet must prepare her “soul” for greater grief. The speaker anticipates that the person described is yet to go through another painful experience, predicts a need to go through the pain alone, seek strength in the never-ending pain, and only then can she emerge victorious.
To summarize, the passage described above from lines 37-40 stand out because of the direct confrontation the speaker point regarding pain, grief, and great distress. By using different forms of the word distress, the speaker appeals to the emotions of the audience, forcing one to seek deeper within themselves with every line. The speaker promises that “woe” or great distress and sorrow would be “sharpened” if one is able to bear the weight of the grief, embrace the process individually, and work firmly towards pain. The connection of these lines to the rest of the poem is spot on and easily identifiable. I found the lines to be intriguing because they appealed to my own sense of pain in my life. The imminent intertwine between life and pain and the fact that one has to go through sorrow to achieve something for the soul are the cornerstone of the lines and the larger poem.
