Response to Heridanie Ramirez’s Post

Hello Heridanie,

According to your post, from the article “Basic Research Concepts, Part 1: Variables Data and Subjects”, operationalization has been defined as the process of conceptualizing a notion or factor in a manner that allows for its quantitative evaluation. According to the same article, using such a phrase is crucial to the study of research since it represents the first stage in developing a research technique. I agree with your post that a variable is anything that can have more than one interpretation, suggesting that it is malleable and open to alteration. Also, I agree that independent variables are the variables that are changed to see their influence on other variables, while dependent variables are studied to determine whether or not a given independent variable impacts them (Bhandari, 2022). Based on your report, subjects are persons who take part in a research project. Sampling is the method used to choose which individuals will participate in research; in other words, it describes how the participants for a study are selected. The sampling techniques discussed in your post are random sampling and non-probability sampling. According to your post, you would conclude that based on your research question of whether birth order affects the development of family interpersonal relationships, a relationship can be observed between the variables. Besides, for this research question, you can see the relationship between birth order and the relationship between parents and also siblings

I second your argument that Inequality in America indeed continues to rise and is manifested in the conditions of schools located in the two regions of your study, the South Bronx, which represents the poor people, and the Upper Eastside, which represents the rich population. Your usage of figures and percentage approximation to show the population living in poverty in the Bronx region increases the accuracy of your claims.

I agree with you that as the essay states CTE is a very serious and dangerous disease. This is brought out through the evidence stated clearly by Delosey. I also get to understand from your comments and from the essay that Chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) is a progressive disease whose major causative agent as known of today is a concussion. I agree with you therefore that a concussion should not be taken lightly as it is the case with Daniel who had a concussion and the FPL never cared about taking care of him or paying for his medical bills leading to his overdosing and excessive drinking.
