Listening Reflection 6
Different pieces of music follow a certain rhythm for them to be beautiful in order to produce a given melody either appealing or not to the audience. This week’s videos have different rhythms, pace, melody and tone that they bring out regarding the different instruments used to play the video.
Listening to the first video, by Arnold Schoenberg, the music leaves me thinking. There are different knots, the intervals between chords is as well confusing and it sounds a very difficult piece of music. Honestly, I found it hard to understand the video, the distance between two chords is not uniform as well as the harmony. The piece is a disjunct melody with many leaps. The texture is a polyphony with so many knots. The second video, by Schoenberg sounds beautiful with the smooth melody playing. Indeed, the tonal spice in the music takes the day. One can get it clearly that Schoenberg is using a piano and the music is so clear with no surrounding voices included in it. The pitch transitions in the video are so orderly and the music is in a classical form. The third video Stravinsky is a great one. Nothing is hard like playing the violin in a slow motion while in a group and the members manages to do it in unison. The violinists are keen enough to play the piece increasing the pitch, as well as from a low to a high volume. The other instrumentalists also do it perfectly. The video is the best with different transition for example, from slow to fast speed, high to low sound, and one instrument to multiple ones. The last video is well done. With different songs being done as instrumentals and the instrumentalists being keen on the pitch, speed and other factors. It is a summary of the week’s videos with different instruments and different composers.
Conclusively, the music played in the videos are enough for one to learn about the different characteristics of music more so instrumentals. The videos are clear and educative for a music class and entertainment.

In 1996 the police and other security organs became concerned about series of cases of females reported missing, around the month of October, a middle aged woman called Wendy Meyers was reported missing to a Police station near the Hudson River at Poughkeepsie, in the county of ulster, New York City. Following the disappearance of Kathleen Hurley, an extensive investigation was conducted and there was a very close link between Francois and the disappearances reported. This was after the reported by the area prostitutes that he use threats during sex. Francois’ home was placed under surveillance following links that connected him to the missing people.
Poughkeepsie Police decided to call in the F.B.I for assistance. The operations of theF.B.I personnel were made difficult by the circumstances surrounding the case. All these cases did not have a crime scene: in order to establish the identity of any suspect, they required scene of crime. On June 1998, Sandra Jean, a mother of three, aged 51, disappeared. According to her daughter, her car was discovered several blocks from Francois’ place. Catina Newsmaster of similar physical properties as the other women went missing in the same year under similar circumstances.
Kendall Francois had abducted a prostitute on September 1, 1998.He was just about to strangle her when she fled from his home. The prostitute who had fled from Francois house filed an assault case against him with Poughkeepsie Police.
The police went to Francois home to talk to him about the reported attack by the prostitute. He accompanied them to the police station to discuss the matter. François was grilled for several hours where he made confession regarding the missing women. The police obtained a search warrant and a team of detectives, police officers and crime scene assessors searched the home of Francois and discovered several bodies of his victims identified as Wendy Meyers (30), Gina Barona (29), Catherine Marsh (31), Kathleen Hurley (47), Mary Giaccone (29), Jean French (51), Audrey Pugliese (34) and Catina Newmaster (25)

Francois attorneys decided to plead guilty on 23rd of December so as to avoid full trial by judges. The court decided that the guilty plea was unacceptable but the court of appeal upheld Francois’ plea of guilty in a March 2000 ruling. Judge Thomas Dolan gave Kendall Francois a life imprisonment. Today he is detained in Attica Correctional Facilities.
Life is a process that leaves behind much to desire

Life is a process that leaves behind much to desire. It is true that life is full of questions that one would always seek to answer. Walt Whitman’s poem is proper representation of how people view life and how they would respond to the challenges of life. It is true that life can be confusing to human beings, and they would wish to have new and attractive influences of life every day.
Life has more questions than answers, making it interesting and attractive. “The powerful play goes on” you intend to “contribute a verse” is highly significant. The bit may mean that as an individual I have a story to narrate about life. I have massive experiences that I can write down to describe my experiences in life. I have many life experiences with some moments being extremely challenging. Therefore, if I had a chance I would have a lot of details to give concerning life. The line simply means that I would also have something to write concerning life and the advances that I would administer if there was a chance.
The idea of revision and re-vision would be highly significant for me as I purpose to make a change in my life. There are various instances in my life that I would transform if it was possible. I would rewrite my life story if I had such a chance. There are numerous opportunities that I had in the past, but I never took full advantage of them. The revision would assist me in handling the opportunities accordingly and taking full advantage of them.
The idea of re-vision would also be paramount in redefining my life. The element focuses on the determinations for life. I have had previous goals, which I could not achieve. It does not mean I had not defined my goals accordingly, but I had ill methods of achieving them. However, if I had an opportunity for the re-vision, I would change extremely many things. I would refocus on my goals and handle them accordingly. I will be highly dedicated to them as I have everything I would require to ensure the goals are fully achieved, and I have nothing to regret in the future.
With revision and re-vision elements in my life, I would enjoy my life to the peak. By this, I mean I would change my name to an achiever and a motivated person to achieve any goal. I believe I would have a better life if I got another chance to live in the past.
However, the past has had extensive influence in my life. The past has an outstanding language that has helped to live a better today. I have understood that I am the mastermind to my future. Proper understanding of the language helps me to understand how to classify matters in my life. I have learnt that not everything would work for my goodness. There are instances when I will be in total desperation, and I need to take necessary steps to ensure the negatives do not influence my life. I have learnt to take advantage of the positive in my life. The language has taught me the difference between good and bad. The results for the past experiences are paramount in defining concrete choice for the future. If something about my life excites me, I always understand it is good to share. I find full joy in the uniqueness of every element in my life. My language is paramount in communicating my identity.
