This project is intended to encourage you to apply the concepts presented in this class to a real marketing issue.  A recent Wall Street Journal article (“Cadillac subscription plan: GM tries a Netflix for cars at $1,500 a month”) tells about an interesting marketing effort within the automobile industry.  Your group assignment is to write a paper discussing this program, and analyzing the various strategic choices which have been made, and the strategies you would recommend going forward.

The following list addresses specific elements of the assignment:

1.      Research the topic.  Develop a realistic understanding of the issues associated with pricing and promoting this type of business, and the advantages of various strategies. 

2.      Make strategic recommendations to at least one firm, particularly with regard to pricing and public relations efforts, and support those recommendations with good arguments.

Use the same product and organization you identified in your Week 3 Strategy and Positioning Analysis.

Develop a less than  1,100-word analysis that includes:

  • Describe how your marketing efforts and marketing mix will change with each phase in the product life cycle
  • Explain how the packaging you will use for your product or service will add value.
  • Analyze the appropriate pricing strategy for your product or service and the price you will set at launch.
  • Evaluate the channels of distribution you will use to sell your product along with a description of how each channel partner will add value.

Include at least four sources of research that support your analysis; at least one must be the textbook, one from the University of Phoenix library, and one piece of secondary research.

Compile the information presented in your previous papers.
