When I complete my college studies, one of the career paths I am interested in exploring is that of a real estate agent.

What do people in this field or job do? Describe a typical day for this position. A real estate agent has different daily activities. On a typical day, the agent begins by responding to queries from potential clients and advising them on suitable properties they might be interested in. if the client is interested in these properties, the agent will take them on a tour to see if they are ready to buy or rent. The agent places an offer from their client and then waits for feedback from the seller. Once the offer is accepted, the agent guides the client on the necessary documents they need to fill out. The agent also goes out to scope available properties they might sell to their clients. Career and you:

My personality type aligns with my career path for various reasons. The first reason is that I am extraverted, meaning I can interact with various types of customers. Working as a real estate agent means working with clients with different personality types. I also make fast and accurate judgment. I also have good intuition when dealing with people, and I can get a good sense of what my customers need and how far they are willing to negotiate.

What is it about this career that interests you? My main interest in being a real estate agent stems from the fact that I enjoy exploring new properties. I have always had an interest in looking at new homes and this career will give me that opportunity. I also look forward to helping people find their ideal homes within their financial capabilities.

Once I pass my exams after the course, I will apply for a state license. Thereafter I will also enroll in a marketing course because marketing skills are essential for a real estate agent.

The position does not require any experience as it is an entry level position.

Since I do not need any experience, will make sure to familiarize myself with the processes involved in becoming a real estate agent.

I plan on enrolling on a short term marketing course to enhance my marketing skills.

One strength that will be valuable for this position is my meticulous organization skills. I like to make sure that all of my affairs are in order, which will keep me organized in my job. I will keep all relevant documents at hand, keep appointments with clients and be on time for all my assignments. Creativity is another skill that will help me sell real estate properties by finding attractive qualities and showcasing homes in their best light. Third, my extroverted personality will help me interact with clients and make them comfortable.

9. List three WEAKNESSES (traits that you currently lack) that can hamper your success in this position and describe why these are weaknesses are important to overcome.

One weakness with regard to this position is that I do not have the necessary qualifications such as certification and licenses. I also do not have adequate marketing skills for a real estate agent. Finally, I am quite unfamiliar with other relevant processes such as legal documentation for the position.

10. What interesting fact(s) did you discover about this career that you did not know before?

While doing research for this position, I learned many things I did not know before. One example of this is that licensing qualifications vary from state to state, I expected them to be uniform across the country. Additionally, I also discovered that there is a difference between a real estate agent and broker.
