Purpose:
The purpose of this discussion post is to practice conducting a root cause analysis using a problem drawn from your own school site.

Task:
First, READ Chapter 8 of Bernhardt and WATCH the instructional video describing how to construct fishbone diagram, which can be accessed

-Next, select an important operational problem or challenge found in your school (e.g., chronic student absenteeism; ineffective lunch supervision; high staff turnover; etc.). Use this problem to practice developing a cause and effect or fishbone diagram that helps you better understand the problem. There are no right answers. This exercise is simply to encourage to you to practice developing the diagram. Please display a copy of your completed diagram to the discussion post. After completing your diagram, please prepare a 200 word reflection that addresses the question: What did you learn about the problem that did you not previously know? How would this enhanced understanding influence your thinking or approach as a school principal?————————-
Criteria For Success

Your initial post will be evaluated using the following criteria. In the initial post the student:
Uses the reading material and the supplemental video to construct an academic argument that addresses the discussion question in a thorough and logical manner.
Correctly uses key terms and concepts. Thoroughly addresses all components of the prompt. Offers ideas that are clear and on-topic.
Follows appropriate grammar conventions. The writing is concise and easy to read.
Writes approximately 150 words.
