Diplomats have said that it is important to tell someone to look forward to a successful journey. Today, am very ready to issue an invitation to someone who want to move forward. First, am very delighted to join you in this great meeting of achieving the educational vision. I am very happy to join you today so as to discuss the way forward. Over the years, I have heard of the exemplary performance of the school and I came so as to give you some strategies which can enable you to move to higher levels. I want to encourage all staffs that you are all winners. This is because you are at the best performing school. In addition, your country has an education vision and you will have the joy of building the future. For your school to succeed, it comes through hard work and determination. You should never give up even if situations are tough. Thomas Edison says and I quote “most of the failures are people who doesn’t realize how close they are to success before giving up”. This is important information since you need to press on no matter what challenges you undertake. This is an inspiration message to me, which has made me to stand firm and lead the education activities, which are going on. Today, I will talk about one of the important educational strategies which can enable the performance of your school to improve. While teaching your students, you can use testing to improve learning. It is beneficial to use testing, as it will enable the student to remember what they have learned. According a study, it was found that students who were tested after studying have a long term memory of the material they were learning than those who didn’t do the test. In addition, student who had extra time to study but didn’t do the test had lower recall of the content. Therefore, every one hee to use this type of strategy which I have given to you today as it is beneficial. By giving the students exams frequently, you can improve the grade of the students (Balisacan, 1993)..Apart from the reasons given above, I want to highlight to you the reasons why testing is important in the education system and its benefits: • Testing will compare the performance of your school to others When examination is done, it will enabled us as the education leaders to identify which schools have dropped and the best schools. Low performance in the school will enabled us to identify the reason why the student fails and look for a solution to improve the performance. On the other hand the school with high performance will get motivational gifts. • Tests are important elements of holistic picture of student’s performance This is another reason why a test is important. Even tough the test may not reveal everything which the student has learned; evaluation is significant since it is graded on classroom observations. The education leadership evaluates teachers basing on lesson planning and classroom observation. Therefore, assessment is an important part of teaching and also learning. Another topic which I wanted to talk to you today are about leadership. It requires some qualities for one to be a leader especially in a school organization like this. I want to illustrate some of the qualities required for one to become a good leader: • Leadership plan For a school to become successful, it is possible to envision your team into leadership plan. One of the examples I want to give to you is Qatar. This is a country which has made significant progress in a world class education system. The effort has been made through able leadership. For you to develop a leadership plan, it is important to envision your leadership team. This can be done by answering some o these questions: how many leaders you want in a team, the type of skills they require and how your leadership will reflect the school which you are serving. The type of leadership necessary to fulfill the leadership plan Apart from developing a leadership plan to the management of the school, it is significant to pan for individual leadership in the school. As a head teacher for example, you need to expect your fellow members of staff and students to act as leaders. This is because leadership is an activity in which every body should participate at some level. In fact, every member of the school community has a talent to share. You shouldn’t base your individual leadership on racial, gender and cultural in the school. But, you need to enable people to stretch your perceptions and what to accomplish. By doing so, you will be able to move forward and eventually show exemplary performance in your institution. Educational organization mission and vision statements To conculde this talk about the mission and vision of an educational organization . The education statements are revised periodically so that it is appropriate. • The vision The educational system is a word leader whose functions are: the advancement of the knowledge basing on research, teaching and learning and preparation of professionals who provide exemplary educational and leadership services. As a result, it improves the live of the people in a complex and changing society. • The mission The mission statement of education system is to assist in preparing scholars, researches and educators in order to advance their education profession. Hence, you need to use the education analysis policy so as to advance the profession of your students. As an institution, you need to prepare the students towards achieving the mission and vision statements I have mentioned. This will not only build the lives of individuals but also enabled the nation to grow (Encouragement 1995)..The above information will assist you as a school if you put into practice what I have mentioned today. This will benefit you greatly if you practice the motivational skills highlighted. Moreover, it will provide leadership in the school organization as well as focusing on the improvement of the education in the work place, communities and the nation (Toogood, 1997). The qualities highlighted will also enhance the commitment of staff and students to centrality of justice, democratic citizenship and justice. This will go along way in achieving the national goal through the academic excellence and integrity. Once again, I want to thank all of you who participated in this function for listening to my speech. Hope it will assist you to move to greater heights.
