Key theories underpinning DBT behaviourism mindfulness and dialectics

Key theories underpinning DBT behaviourism mindfulness and dialectics

QUESTION

Briefly describe the three theoretical foundations of DBT. How do these theories uniquely address the problems of borderline personality disorder?

You then apply all 3 theories to the diagnostic criteria for borderline personality- see below.

Borderline Personality Disorder Criteria for Diagnosis (verywellmind.com)

It’s a 3000-word essay- so wording will need to be carefully looked at- e.g. wording for introduction, conclusion, etc, references in the essay is counted as the word count. Bibliography is not included as part of the word count.

You could probably do 800 words per each theory – but apply each theory to the diagnostic criteria for borderline personality disorder.

Then use 100 words for the introduction/ 100 words for the bibliography.

Please do ask me any questions if you have any/ please also use the recommended reading list I have given you. If you need access to these books. There is no specific guidance on text size and spacing, please just follow the other style guidance related to the APA format.
What makes a good essay?
A “good” essay will have an introductory paragraph that briefly introduces the information to be discussed in the essay and the structure. Throughout the essay, full paragraphs should be used meaning each paragraph should have a topic sentence and a number of information points to support your topic sentence. Each separate idea should have its own paragraph. At this level of academic work, it is generally most effective to paraphrase readings, rather than quote directly. Each paraphrased idea needs to be properly referenced using APA style. At the end of the essay, you will want to have a conclusion that briefly summarises the points you made throughout the essay. In addition, you will need to include a bibliography.
