Storytelling as Business Strategy
Storytelling as Business Strategy
Storytelling in business refers to the art of sharing the experiences behind a company’s brand, employees, customers, and advocates (Moin, 2020). Using storytelling as a business strategy is important because it allows the company to build a narrative and connect with its audience on an emotional level. Storytelling can be deemed an obvious advertising strategy, and many businesses ought to have taken advantage of it; however, this has not been the case as many companies still struggle to grasp the potential value of storytelling in business. There are various advantages of storytelling as a business strategy and which can help the business succeed.
A major advantage of storytelling is that the audience tends to stick with the told message. People like stories because they make sense of things (Ben, Leicht & Marongiu, 2019). The human mind cannot process masses of details and facts at once, but storytelling finds a way of summarizing the information in a manner that is easily understandable by the target audience. Based on this, stories become easier to process as they are condensed, memorable, and can convey a variety of emotions. While facts and statistics are important in advertising, people forget them very quickly, and this explains why storytelling in business is more effective. Another advantage of storytelling in business is that it allows a company to create a better understanding of its business (Hakala et al., 2020). It can be difficult for people who are not part of the business to understand its culture, mission, and vision. However, using storytelling as a business strategy can help these individuals connect and understand how the business works as well as what the company stands for; and this makes it a perfect way for a business to build its brand.

Story Analysis, A Story That Made Headlines In UK Law
Story Analysis, A Story That Made Headlines In UK Law
A story that has recently made the headlines is on the UK law maker’s consideration to probe into the transparency of mining firms. This story was highlighted by Reuters and fox business among other online magazines. It focused on how the British government is really considering looking into the transparency of the mining and oil firm which have been listed in London. This issue has been highlighted at the market miners that are emerging by corruption probes. This is an issue that has generated fear among lawmakers as it has dented the reputation of the stock market (Ferreira-Marques, 2013).
The news story was reported clearly and accurately only a certain level. It clearly reported on the proposal that was made by the chairman of the committee for business, skills and innovation to inquire into the issues such as governance and anticorruption in the oil and mining companies. It also stated clearly when the probe would begin and the people who were supposed to give evidence on the issue. In general it reported that the issue to be looked into was corruption. It also reported on the fact that the inquiry would go ahead and various things that it would cover, these include looking at the benefits got from having major extractive companies being listed in London. Another thing was whether Britain should go ahead and sign up as part of Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative and at the same time examine the role of oil and mining companies in the efforts of the community and environment (Ferreira-Marques, 2013).However, it was not sufficient in terms of depth and breath. It did not highlight on the exact date when the probe would start rather it vaguely stated it would start before the parliamentary session ended in July. It also did not clearly mention the exact reason for carrying out the probe instead it just stated that the probe will go ahead.
There were various facts that were ignored when the report was written. For instance there was no opinion on the people to give evidence that was given. The names of these people were simply stated and there was nothing on whether or not they agreed to give the evidence. It also did not indicate how the evidence that will be found is going to be used. It also did not state how long the probe will be expected to last and when the information from the probe will be made public. It also did not give an insight on what would happen to these people who were to give evidence incase the allegations against them are confirmed.
There was no alternative perspective that was considered in the story. It only highlighted the views of the parliament on what they intend to do which was to carry out the probe. There were no considerations of what the views held by the rest of the world regarding this issue. There were no assumptions that were made in the story. The story was based on facts and there were even quotes of statements that had been made by the chairman of the probe and a parliamentarian. There was a lot on emphasis on the probe really happening but nothing at all was reported on how the probe was to benefit UK as a nation. It is very important to make distinctions when carrying out a critical evaluation in that one is able to clearly understand the importance of carrying out the evaluation (Skousen, 2010).
It also helps to better understand the evaluation that one is doing. I would make a better evaluation if the story was on the TV news; this is because the people to carry out the probe will have an opportunity to clearly give adequate information. When reading the story online adequate information is not got some things might be omitted .On the television news it is easy to get the exact words used by the people concerned.I can also evaluate the story better If I heard it on the radio news as the radio has same effects as the television news. The only difference between the tow is that from the radio I will not be able to see the facial expressions by those involved which is visible on television news (Skousen, 2010).

Story of Decameron
In Decameron Novel 4 I, the story becomes tragic because of the death of Guiscardo who was killed because she was involved in love affair with Ghismonda. Therefore the story becomes tragic when his father conspires with Trancredi, who was the prince of Selemo. The story in Decameron 4 v becomes tragic when Lisabetta’s brother kill her lover. This murder is reveled to her when the murdered sweetheart appears to her in a dream. During this time, he tells Lisabetta where he was secretly buried. This evokes somber memories to her (Lee, A. C., 2005).
Later, the story becomes more tragic when Lisabetta takes the initiative to exhume her lover’s remains. As she boldly disinters his head and preserves it in a pot. This does not bring joy to her because it evokes sad memories to her. As a result, she weeps daily in the remembrance of this great tragic loss. As the story unfolds, it became more tragic especially after Lisabetta’s brothers snatch her pot in which she had preserved the head of the person she had treasured most in life. As Filomena concludes, this would not mark the end of tragedies because the incident later culminates into the death of Lisabetta.
On the other hand, Decameron 5 ends happily because of the fulfillment got from the struggles and challenges experienced by the lovers. Firstly, the presence of Fiametta becomes symbolic of good fortunes because of the light flames it brings. This would later mean good fortune at the end. All the disasters that the protagonists go through are not perpetual because they eventually come to an end when nature and tradition eliminates the thorn in the life of the suitors to give them go ahead in their marriage. After the death of Giadotto, da Cremona, he leaves behind a young lady to Giacomino da Pavia. Later, Pavia finds herself fixed between tow men each of whom was interested in her hand in marriage (Ginzburg, C., 2000).
They were Gianolle Di Severino and Minghino. She had to use her wits to play them out because as the story unfolded, it later emerged she had been considering Minghino as the most potential suitor. Despite the two gentlemen engaging in constant tussles over her, the whole issue is later resolved when it was discovered that Gianolle was her real brother. Thus, she was left with no choice, but to settle on Minghino and marry him. This does not bring regrets to her because of the above mentioned coincidence. As Neifile narrates, this marriage culminates into happiness and good fortune for the two lovebirds. Despite the misfortunes they had undergone, fate eventually favors them because they get an opportunity to forget about their troublesome past and establish a family (Boccaccio, G., 2008).
In conclusion, I would like to say that the three different stories involved a series of scaring tragedies. The disastrous experiences underwent by the protagonists and other characters in the stories were a clear indication that life was not all smooth. This is what was witnessed in Decameron 4 I and V which later ends by the death of one or all of the protagonists. The slaying of Ghismonda’s sweetheart marks the end of her life when she tragically terminates it through suicide. In Decameron 4 V, Lisabetta also dies immediately after hr lover. However, this tragic ending does not mark Decameron 5 which ends in a blissful mood when tussle between Minghinno and Gianole is later resolved. Upon discovering that the suitors were siblings, Giamono got an opportunity to marry Minghino whom she had been coincidentally favoring over her brother. This marks the happy ending of this story.
