Explanation Wal-Mart is one of the corporations in United States with employees from different parts of the world. The corporation has employed aspect of employees’ diversity as part of extending its social responsibility. It is the obligation of any entity to ensure that its offer employment to all people disregard of their races. According to statistics, it is evident that the company’s employees come from various parts of the continent (Ferrel et al, 2009).
Supporting Evidence For example, out of 1.3 million corporation’s employees, more than 70% come from other countries other than United States. This implies that the retailer adheres to the fairness principle when selecting and recruiting its staff. According to Fishman (2006), the company has employees from Asia, Africa, Spain and Southern America
Evaluation Wal-Mart Corporation adheres to the fair treatment principle as stipulated in the Global Business Standard Codex. By recruiting employees from different parts of the world and rewarding equal benefits and allowances, the corporation is portraying positive image that ought to be emulated by others (Deborah, 2005).
Conclusion The company believes that all employees should be treated equally and fairly especially in regard to allowances and benefits. (Suhone et al, 2010).

Explanation Dignity is another ethical principle that the corporation has been relentlessly observing. Wal-Mart respects employees’ health and safety concerns, privacy and confidentiality, employment security and association. Wal-Mart values its employees so much. The employees’ lives are safe especially when they are working within the premises of corporation (Wal-Mart Stores Inc., 2009).
Supportive Evidence The corporation does not tolerate any cases of racism, sex discrimination, cultural prejudices and any other sort of discrimination within its premises. The corporation has been striving to ensure that working environment is safe and free from risks. In addition, The corporation does not tolerate any cases of racism, sex discrimination, cultural prejudices and any other sort of discrimination within its premises (Brunn, 2006).
Evaluation Respect for employees’ dignity is the cornerstone of success to the corporation. It helps promote elite performance and productivity of employees in the working environment. Prejudices and biasness limits the level of production amongst employees thus exposing the corporation to losses (Fishman, 2006).
Conclusion Wal-Mart Corporation follows the dignity and fairness principles by treating its employees and other stakeholders fairly (Drogin, 2003).

Explanation Through its proactive management, the corporation vows to respond promptly to the needs and demands of the employees especially in the working environment. This initiative has been facilitated by the respect of dignity principle. When the living cost is high, the corporation tends to improve the wage scale of its employees. The corporation takes immediate actions when employees complain of hazardous features in the working environment. The corporation strives hard to ensure that employees’ needs and demands are satisfied at all the times (PBS Organization 2010).
Supportive Evidence Wal-Mart corporation has established Office of Diversity which offers diversity training and education to all levels of employees and other associates (Hemphill, 2008).
Evaluation Responsiveness principle has boosted effectiveness in the overall functioning of the corporation
Conclusion Wal-Mart cooperation has had advantage over its competitors and this is attributed to effective management which is bound by proactive measures (Hemphill, 2008).
Concluding Statement Wal-Mart has embraced the most elaborate ethical policies within the retailing industry in United States. The retailer has been constantly and persistently reviewing its ethical policies especially after encountering legal crisis. Notably, Wal-Mart ethical policies stretch to staff employment practices as stipulated by the Global Business Standards Codex (Hemphill, 2008).

The article gives the relationship between reduction of gun death and legislation of gun laws. The author points out the great concern in America where every day we wake up to news of mass shooting for example in Gilroy California, El Paso, Texas and Dayton, Ohio. The author refutes the argument often used to argue against gun control that most people who conduct mass shooting are often mental instability. He argues that although they may be mentally unstable, their ease to access guns is what concerns many. Most perpetrators have often been reported to just have walked into a gun store and purchased a gun without being asked a lot of questions. It is because of this that gun control laws need to be reviewed. The article points out states with laws such as who can access firearms, background-check laws and laws prohibiting sales of guns to people with misdemeanor had low firearm related crimes.
I chose this article as it contains a conglomeration of works by other scholars who have examined this topic. This paper will be important in citing examples of laws that can be set in place to ensure that gun related violence decline. The article includes new methodological as well as theoretical bridges thus bringing different point of views on the matter. This will ensure while writing my paper I am not biased on my way of thinking. The audience is any person student or stakeholder that may be interested on acquiring information on gun control.

This article examines the many violent related cases where guns have been involved. United States has been known to be one country where people are able to obtain guns quite easily, for every 100 individuals, there are 101 guns. Often every week, there has to be death related with gun violence. From the research, gun related injuries begun to rise from the year 2001. The research was conducted by looking at patients who had suffered trauma since 2011 from gunshot wounds. This research wanted to establish if legislation helped in reducing gun related violence. According to the research, states that had strict firearm laws had significantly lower number of gun related injuries as compared to the states that had non-strict fire arm laws. The most affected individuals are often young black men.
This article will be a key reference point in my research paper as it will help me make a connection on how strict firearm laws are important in reducing crime related violence. Often people have argued that strict gun laws are not a solution thus having a research paper that gives the statistics on the comparison between different states with different laws is important. The article includes real reports on the effect of having lenient laws on gun control, rather than a piece with only speculation.

This article explores response the response of firearm ammunition users on the initiative by Obama in 2013 to control gun use. After the Sandy Hook Elementary shooting president Obama initiated a dialog that proposed gun control. Obama admiration wanted a ban on bump stock which included semiautomatic rifles. However, what followed was an increase in gun sales leading to gun shortage and stock outs. Record sales by U.S firearm manufacturers were recorded in 2013. The NRA had opposed this dialog and the response by the firearm consumers after the threat by the government, it was clear that they were not ready to have the gun control dialogue. Gun control issue has been a sensitive topic among Americans as most believe the right to bear arms is an important right enshrined in the constitution and no one should interfere with it.
This article will help me in my research in exploring the reaction that has been gotten from the past when measures to reduce gun control were discussed. Although many Americans are tired of the mass shootings most prefer other ways to try and solve this issue without regulating gun ownership. This paper will also be a key reference point showing the power NRA has on both the government and the gun consumers.
Lott, John R. More guns, less crime: Understanding crime and gun control laws. University of Chicago Press, 2013.
This book proposes that an increase in guns is likely to lead to a decrease in crimes. Lott states that most US states that have largest number of gun ownership also have largest drop in crimes. The “shall-issues” law allows gun owners to carry their weapons as long as they are licensed, do not have a criminal record or any mental health related issue. According to the author people are less likely to commit crimes because they risk attacking someone with a gun. Concealed hand guns are able to help reduce crime in two main ways: First criminals are afraid potential victims are armed second those with guns are able to stop crimes or defend themselves. According to Lot, when guns are restricted a situation is created whereby one cannot defend themselves from bad people or attackers.
The author is a gun rights advocate who has often pointed out the advantages associated with gun ownership. This paper will be a key referencing pint for my article while addressing the cons of gun regulation. It will help me cite situations in which guns have proved to be useful. This reference is helpful as it helps in bringing out the concept of gun ownership and fighting or deterring crimes. This paper looks at the background of gun control debate since mass shootings begun in America. America for the longest time have experienced mass shootings with an increase in the recent decade. When every mass shooting occurs there are often legislations that are proposed to try and curb gun use both at state and federal level. This paper explores if the laws already in place have helped in reduction of the mass shooting. There are three ways that laws impact gun policies, the first way is it evokes huge policy response a single mass shooting leads to a 15% increase on the number of firearm bills. Second is that mass shooting accounts for small portion of gun related deaths such as suicide by gun, accidental discharge and robbery with violence. Lastly when bills already in place are examined on the impact they have, it is clear the party in power plays a role.
Michael Luca, Deepak Malhotra, and Christopher Poliquin are the authors of these paper is economist who have written other key topics including how handgun waiting periods reduce deaths. In writing their paper they have cited other scholars work that are reliable giving their work credibility. This paper will be important in highlighting a link that exists between mass shooting and the gun policies I place. It also brings in a new idea on my paper on how mass shooting has the smallest number of death as compared to other gun related death. The paper will also serve as a key referencing point when discussing effect of media coverage on mass shooting and the bills that follow.

The article incorporates statistics of how many guns are purchased by people daily as well as number of people who may be possessing guns illegally. The author points out loopholes in the Brady bill that requires background checks for people who need to purchase guns. One loophole is failing to report felons and thus are not included in the federal database. Devin Kelley who killed 26 people in Texas is an example as Air Force did not report his convictions to the federal gun background check thus was able to obtain a gun easily when he shouldn’t have. The article also outlines effective gun control measures such as the permit to purchase where one needs permit from local government before getting a gun
I chose this article as it will help me in citing the statistics on number of gun purchases as well as illegal ownership of guns. The article will be a key referencing point on effective measures that can be implemented in ensuring gun related violence decline. This paper talks of the unending debate in the United States on gun control. Some people may argue that mass shootings in the US such as that of the Las Vegas strip in October 2017 are brought about by less strict gun laws and increase the rate of gun ownership. However, it is important to note that this not entirely the case, the increase rate of gun ownership doesn’t mean an increased rate of crime. The correlation between gun laws and crime rates. An increase in crime rate can be attributed to various factors such as unemployment. It is false to state that countries with the highest rate of gun ownership have an increase in crime rate. It is possible to have a lawbreaking society without guns. The research provides evidence that in order to come up with good gun control policies other factors have to be taken into consideration including constitutional rights, interest of stakeholder groups and the different outcomes that may be expected from the law.
The author is a researcher who has written various publication on different issues. The article ids reliable as he incorporates research papers from other peer reviewed scholars on the same subject. Unlike most of my sources that talk of legislation and protecting gun rights, this paper will be important in highlighting how successful gun laws can be implemented and how laws formulated will affect various stakeholders.

This article looks at the advantages and disadvantages of gun control. According to the article, United States has 120.5 guns per 100 people. The pervasiveness of Americas culture and gun ownership can be dated back to its colonial roots. Second Amendment is the constitutional law often used to argue gun ownership as it states “the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.” Most people against the gun controls have often argue strict gun control laws is an infringement of one’s rights. The article outlines several pros related to gun control including reduction of gun related deaths and mass murders from high capacity magazines. Regulating guns is also likely to reduce crime rate and protect venerable women and children from abusers. Cons on gun laws include invasion of privacy from background checks, criminals may still be able to acquire guns, and guns are at times a form of protection. The author also points out that although we may need gun control laws educating people on guns is important.
This article will be a key referencing material for my paper on highlighting the pros and cons related to gun violence. It also brings in a key point that other sources have highlighted which is public education on guns and gun safety. Not all gun related trauma are from attacks as others are often from accidental discharge. The article will also be an important material in highlighting solution in helping with gun related violence aside from legislation.

There are policies that have received overwhelming support including mental health screening and treatment, background checks, licensing of guns and support of the red-flag law that gives a judge permission to strip of a gun from a person who poses a risk to himself and others. From the polls 55% of Americans pointed out the need to control gun related violence while 39 wanted to protect gun rights. This portrayed a clear shift of most Americans as they want strict gun laws
This article will be a key referencing point for my paper especially in highlighting the various policies that will help in gun control. The article also includes ideas from those against strict gun laws on how to tackle gun violence. This will help me get other perspective on handling gun control while writing my paper. This books breaks down the politics surrounding gun rights and gun control. According to Spitzer, politicians propel their agendas by prying on peoples fear about gun control. Despite the fact that guns have been used in mass shooting, introducing more stringent rules will not solve the problem at hand as it is quite possible for a criminal to pass through various screenings such as background checks. There are loops in the laws that already exist on gun control that should first be sealed such as how criminals are able to bypass background checks or how law enforcement agencies do not report all offenders. The notion that that gun shows are the reasons why a large number of firearms are accessible to criminals is false. Background checks are put in place to keep guns out of reach for dangerous people. Instead of blaming gun shows better checks should be put in place to catch early warning signs.
Spitzer is a political scientist but has written books and spoken about gun control on TV and radio. This book will help me in highlighting the history of gun control policies from the period of 1968. This paper will be important in my introduction especially on looking at the first act signed in 1968 on Gun Control by President Lyndon Johnson. This relates to the article by Golshan that also points out loopholes on existing laws on gun control. The audience is anyone who needs to understand gun policies in the U.S.

In every large firm, there has to be a human resource manager and each has various responsibilities. They are in charge of employee welfare to ensure that the needs of employees are well catered for .This will in turn ensure that that they are taken care off. Employees can at any one time, become disabled while at the work place, and it can be in a temporary form. There are certain laws, which apply to employees, who become temporarily disabled at the work place. This act came into being after the efforts of the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (Cabrelli, 2007). Most times, they are two types of benefits, which occur as a result of temporary disability. They are the temporary partial and temporary total benefits.
In order to qualify for these benefits, a doctor must be consulted .The doctor must ensure that they are treating the employee. The WSIB must be made aware that the employee has a medical problem or an injury, which is work related. This means that they are not in a position to work for some time. In the case of temporary total benefits, the employee is awarded a substantial amount of money. This means that they are entitled to a take-home-pay of 90%, as a result of being injured, while at the work place. The benefits are awarded as long as the doctor approves of the situation (Cabrelli, 2007). WSIB must approve everything the doctor is recommending; otherwise they will not award the employee any benefits. Also, in the future, the employee must prove that they can work, to the WISB. If the employee is not likely to improve, WISB will not continue awarding the benefits to the injured employee. The employee will thus be given their pension, and if the employee improves, they will be given their temporary benefits. This is after a thorough assessment by the WISB.
There are many times when conflict arises between civil rights and collective bargaining, as a result of contract rights. An example of a situation in real life is when a school board is at conflict with a union for teachers. In collective bargaining, there are certain resolutions and obligations, which have to be met. This means that in any bargaining agreement, there has to be good faith and exclusivity. An example of where conflict arises in such matters is in school boards whether private or public. This is because according to the schools unions, they are entitled to extreme exclusivity. The bargaining unit and the collective interests of the elected union are bargained through good faith. Good faith is extremely essential in all the different processes, as the situation is bound to become heated and intense.
It must be known that in an agreement of collective bargaining, certain constitutional and statutory provisions cannot be contradicted or violated. This agreement should also ensure that contract rights are recognized (Cabrelli, 2007). Social and political freedom, as well as equality, is a civil right of every human being. According to the National Labor Relations, good faith is an extremely important issue. This is because elements of cooperation, fairness and openness, ought to exist. The school board and the teachers union may engage in negotiations and not come to an agreement. The disputes are sometimes not solved even though good faith is involved and this is known as legal impasse. This means that suspension of active bargaining occurs as a result of the impasse. For this case to be solved mediation occurred and it took a long time before the parties came to an agreement. People have civil rights, which should not be violated.
Employees in an organization should ensure that the existing conditions at the work place favour their work. This is known as ergonomics and more should be known about this essential work place aspect. Through ergonomics, employees become satisfied, increase their productivity and also the risk of injury as well as illness is reduced. There are many situations, which pose a risk for employees at the work place, which might cause disorders of the musculoskeletal. An example of how such an issue can occur is through constantly carrying objects, which are extremely heavy or pulling them (Opsvik, 2009). If they do this kind of job on a daily basis, they are bound to become injured. This might in turn pose serious consequences to the employee and may suffer from problems related to the musculoskeletal. In such cases, something needs to be done to ensure that there are no more further injuries. These include transferring the employee to another department, where risk is less, taking them to a specialist, among other things.
The Labor occupational Safety & Heath Administration (2011) has come with guidelines concerning this issue. This is because it is known that employees working in certain sectors of the economy such as manufacturing and mining occur frequently. The guidelines ensure that musculoskeletal injuries at the work place are reduced. They assist employers in knowing how to control and recognize risk factors of ergonomics. The information provided is extremely helpful in many ways.
