Infection issues are of a great concern to anyone practicing dentistry. Dental practitioners must be as careful as possible to avoid spread of diseases. Dental patients may not like practitioners who do not pay much attention to cleanliness. It is absolutely true that many patients would feel uncomfortable with services. Dental practitioners must take serious measures to avoid infections and spread of diseases through washing hands, wearing gloves, sterilizing clip bibs.
Hand washing is indeed a major concern in the oral health education. Most people do not wash their hands simply because they do not pay much attention to the consequences. Hand washing should be stressed because of its importance. Females are likely to wash their hands compared to males because females are more sensitive than men. Fear of getting sick should however be the main reason as to why people wash their hands but not the knowledge that they are walking around with gross things as per the author (Kelsch, 2013).
Hand hygiene is very crucial since people use their hands in touching various things containing germs and therefore hand washing is indeed a better way of controlling infection in the oral healthcare. What makes most people not to wash their hands is forgetfulness and assumption that hands have not touched any infectious or dirty surface. Much attention should be paid to hand washing by dentists to avoid spread of germs and oral infections (Kelsch, 2013).
Disinfection may not be the best way of eliminating bacteria because not all bacteria are eliminated. There are anaerobic bacteria that normally remain even after disinfection. Most of the bib clips contain oral bacteria, anaerobic bacteria isolate from skin and anaerobic bacteria from oral cavity and upper respiratory thus causing risk of cross contamination (Kelsch, 2013). Disposable bib holders and sterilization of clips may provide better solution to these risks. Bib clips made of rubbers retain more bacteria compared to metal clips. There are other ways in which bibs may be infected by bacteria. Some of the ways include when the patients touch them, when dental practitioners touch them with gloves or when patient’s saliva goes into them. Author’s advice to use disposable bib holders, bibs without chains and less embossing as well as avoidance of taking the bibs to places such as eating places are some of the ways of reducing cross contamination (Kelsch, 2013).
Wipes are very important to dentists as a way of reducing bacterial infections. There are many infections associated with surfaces and can live for a very long time. Choosing appropriate disinfectant is very essential as far as inactivating microorganisms is concerned. Chemical formulations are indeed vital depending on the intended function of the germicidal wipe. However, effectiveness of a particular disinfectant largely depends on the instructions that are put on the labels (Kelsch, 2013). It is true according to the author that alcohol-quaternary ammonium germicidal wipe has numerous benefits compared to other wipes. Nevertheless the ability and effectiveness of this wipe is dependent on the instructions prescribed by the manufacturers. They can largely minimize the risk of spreading diseases in dental environment.

Introductions and Key Points
The main topic that I have chosen is ‘Malnutrition associated with specific health conditions.’ Based on the same topic, I have chosen to use the question, “What specific health conditions increase the risk of malnutrition?” to address health conditions that are associated with malnutrition. Malnutrition is a major program because it can lead to many health problems. Some of the health problems associated with malnutrition include; stunted growth, eye problems, diabetes as well as risks of heart disease. Malnutrition is a global issue in that it affects billions of people. Some of the populations are at a higher risk of malnutrition, depending on their lifestyle, environment, and resources.

Are Edentulousness, Oral Health Problems, and Poor Health-Related Quality of Life Associated with Malnutrition in Community-Dwelling Elderly (Aged 75 Years and Over)? A Cross-Sectional Study. Nutrients, 10(12), 1965.
Article Findings
According to the article, as the population tends to age, the risk of malnourishment as well increases. The article cites that poor oral health can be a risk factor for malnutrition in institutionalized elderly. In finding out whether oral health problems, edentulousness, and health-related quality of life are associated with the risk of malnutrition in community-dwelling older adults, the research incorporates a cross-sectional observational study where 1325 community-living elderly above 75 years were asked to complete questionnaires on nutritional status, oral status, oral health problems, health-related quality of life, frailty, activities of daily living and complexity of care needs. The study results indicated that health-related quality of life is significantly associated with malnutrition; however, edentulous health problems are not associated with malnutrition. The article was chosen because it identifies with the same concept on research, and that is health problems associated with malnutrition. Oral health is a health condition and thus can increase the risk of malnutrition, although at a rate.
Summary of evidence
Univariate analysis of the study was performed to identify the significance of the health problems with malnutrition. Out of this, 51% were edentulous, 38.8% had remaining teeth, and 10.2% had an implant-supported overdenture. Elderly with complex care needs were highly malnourished, most frequently followed by frail and robust elderly with 10%, 4.5%, and 2.9%, respectively. However, malnourished elderly reported more frequent problems with chewing and speech when compared with the well-nourished elderly. A major limitation of the study is related to the low prevalence of malnutrition (≈5%) in the population of the elderly assessed. Based on this, a low predictive value results for the defined associated factors. The small numbers of malnutrition may have influenced the extrapolation of the univariate and multivariate logistic analyses, which resulted in a low significance of edentulous health problem causing malnutrition.
Sharing Evidence
The information obtained from the research would be shared with the elderly – people above the age of 75 years as well as health service providers, both home-based and hospital-based, as they are directed related to solving malnutrition issues among the elderly. The information would be shared through explanations and examples to help the elderly understand how the quality of life influences the chance of malnutrition. The resources needed for the sharing of information are community-based, and they include financial assistance, educational, health care, and religious organizations. All these organizations will play a crucial role in helping disseminate the information.
Conclusion
The purpose of the paper is to investigate specific health problems associated with the risk of malnutrition. Based on this, it identifies edentulous problems as some of the major reasons why the elderly (above 75 years) have a high risk of malnutrition. According to the research used, malnourished elderly report high health problems compared to well-nourished.

An informative speech on racism
According to Barack Obama, there is not a conservative America and a Liberal America; instead, there is the United States of America. There is not a Latino American, a black American, or a white American- but there is the United States of America. Over the past years, racial turmoil has contributed to a countless number of social unrests from the colonial era to the postmodern era of USA’s history. As an African American man who grew up in America, I have in many instances felt the pinch of discrimination. I was brought up in a surrounding filled with white people, and they always tried to remind me that I was different. For this reason, I have become an advocate of racial equality.
Structural racism and institutional repression have been used as the critical social control mechanisms, which have ensured that the white Americans have complete control over the black Americans and the other races deemed inferior to the whites. From the mid-seventeenth century to the 1960s, most of the European Americans particularly the Anglo-Saxon Protestants enjoyed special privileges in land acquisition, some aspects of citizenship, education, immigration, as well as criminal procedures. However, individuals who were Asian Americans, African Americans, Latino Americans, Hispanic Americans, as well as the Native Americans, were often subjected to racism by the whites. After many years, racism is still a severe problem amongst the society and therefore it is time for all of us to reckon this vice.
One of the greatest fighters of racism in America, Martin Luther King, always believed that all individuals were created equal. Additionally, he thought that all human beings deserved equal rights to liberty, life, and the pursuit of happiness. Today, his name adorns streets schools, colossal biographies, and bridges. Most of the children have been taught to revere Martin Luther King as soon as they can speak. He created hope in every individual including the oppressed that they would at one time attain their freedom and become free from their oppressors.
Even though I have had bad days, I still believe that the ray of hope is still shining brightly. I have always been a big lover of basketball, and I used to play basketball while in high school. In my senior year, I made it to the school team. The school basketball committee had made a rule, which required that every player’s hair did not touch their neck or ear; however, I had dreadlocks, and they would touch my shoulders. During one of the preseason practice sessions, the school coach summoned me and reminded me that I had to cut my hair for the first game. I never saw the need of cutting my hair but promised that I would put in a ponytail for the rest of the season. Days later, he introduced a new rule, which barred any player from having headbands or hair ties. Therefore, for my love of basketball, I had to cut my hair short. Even though I did that back, then I still feel the pinch. I was 100 percent sure that if it were a white kid, he would not have introduced such a rule. However, the society has made it clear that we have to suffer for being born black or other races other than white.
The most significant factor that stands between us achieving racial-biased free society roots from individuals treating this whole issue as a headache, one that you can heal by just swallowing an aspirin. Racism ought to be treated as brain cancer, and by taking aspirin, you definitely will not be cured. For a long time now, the country has been taking aspirin in place of chemotherapy for the racial problems. In an article printed on the Nation magazine, Collier Meyerson made it clear that everyone has to take a different look on where the country is, where they would want it to be, and where it is headed; only then can we get a final solution. According to Katherine Craig, all the white individuals have to understand that if they do not plan on being part of the solution, then they are part of this problem. Anyone who is serious about creating racial equality amongst all individuals has to ensure that he or she is anti-racist. Therefore, they have to acknowledge their privileges because even though they don’t ask for them, the opportunities are the main reason why other individuals are oppressed. As human beings we always have the choice of being offended or being the solution, either way, one can be both.
In conclusion, racism has been a disease that has run through the past generations and is still prominent today. However, it is essential to understand that all of us were created equal and we deserve equal opportunities. After all, racism does more harm than good to the society. We ought to understand that everyone has to be part of the solution, and this can be achieved by treating that person next to you as if he or she is your brother or sister.
