The disagreement between various bodies sometimes leads to the rising of war and other unethical activities. Mostly conflict appears if one body feels that it should have the most significant share either in power-sharing. Sharing of powers was one of the primary causes of misunderstandings between the newly formed states following the independence declaration. The central issue of slavery exacerbated the underlying factors that led to the emergence of war. Ideally, most of the northern territories were for the free nation (Burns, 2020). This is where everybody would have the right to dispose of their labor at their will rather than compelling people to work on farms and other organizations. Northern states have established themselves as regions that valued humanity over the essence of personal gains. The southern states felt compelled by the liberation of slaves; free labor had helped these young nations acquire a lot of wealth and improve drastically.

Freeing of the slaves meant that southern states would lose a relevant source of free labor, thus increasing the cost of running activities. The confederation of states formed after the young nation gained independence from Britain had provisions and amendments that promoted free labor (Anderson, 2013). This meant that most slave’s governments would be required to develop mechanisms to encourage their regular business running. During the confederation era, each state-operated as an independent country. The confederation document lacks enough powers to hold different forms over issues such as slavery. Most of the southern states had laws that allowed them to continue with slavery. The right to enact laws that encouraged slavery enabled these nations to revolt against northern states’ efforts to abolish the institution.

The confederate states claimed the seceding rights; the states were allowed to operate as free nations. States had the right to leave the confederation of countries if they felt compelled by the abiding laws. The abolition of slavery is one of the significant factors that had led to threats and the actual secession of some of the newly formed states (Anderson, 2013). Southern states felt like the more developed northern countries wanted to continue dominating infrastructure and economic development.

The division of powers is an integral aspect of maintaining stability in a nation. The central government should devolve its power to smaller units that can reach the people at the grassroots. The federal government should hold onto particular abilities, such as maintaining security and formulating policies to help run the nation (Orrenius, 2019). conversely, local or state government should have powers that enable it to promote its activities. Ideally, the provincial government should provide essential services to the citizens, such as health, education, regulating unemployment, and combating simple criminal activities. The local government is the immediate authority to consult over compelling issues for a fast solution. The central government should echo on the provincial government’s role in maintaining and promoting people’s welfare.

The issue of illegal migration lies at the heart of American security. The main border issue occurs in the southern state of texas. Some people feel like the issue of illegal migration through the south of states should be a states matter. Importantly, all states have trained security personnel who could help in controlling unlawful entry into the country. Conversely, other groups feel like the borders between a nation and another country should remain under the federal government. It’s the role of the federal government to maintain the sovereignty of the states. This includes protecting the conditions from external forces and also protecting its citizens from threats of incoming troops. Immigration is an issue of national security; this provides an elegant route through which terrorists can access the nation and conduct harmful activities. Besides, illegal immigration in the United States predisposes states to surge in the market due to cheap labor availability. It would be the employer’s dream coming true; however, the typical American would be at threat of unemployment.

On the other hand, it prevents the developing nation from developing their economies to support their growing population. The main cause of illegal immigration is unemployment in the developing country and political instability, causing people to flee for safety. States have law enforcement agents that ensure no unlawful entry into society; most states support the deportation of people lacking relevant documents to support their stay in the states. The state government can impose the federal government’s law on serious matters (Orrenius, 2019). Contrary, an individual can get into problems from migrating into another state on fraudulent means to get asylum if they face challenges living in another state due to a lack of sufficient documents. This would entail an arrest and eventual deportation to the country of origin.

Since independence, the states and the federal government got into war over laws and authority over land and waters. For instance, the federal government in 1940 got into the tug of war with the state of California over offshore oil and gas. The federal government was determined to take over the rig’s control; thus, it influenced the imposition of justice in its favor. The court argued that the federal government has sovereignty in controlling and should have control over the matter. In this case, revolve around the formulation of laws to regulate the utilization of state resources. The court’s decision favors all Americans, but the essence should promote freedom within the states. The government should devolve some of its powers to allow states to utilize resources for their economic and infrastructural development. There should be control of the state government by the federal government to ensure there is the regulation of activities for its citizens.

Option 1 Reflection On Elmwood’s Gender-Based View on

Option 1: Reflection On Elmwood’s Gender-Based View on The Representation Of Anja

Gender-based violence has continued to be one of the most significant human right violations in most of the communities. The ideal is directed to both men and women because of their genders. Moreover, most of the affected groups are the women and girls who struggle with gender violation from their area of relation. According to Elmwood’s argument on gender, all aspects of men and women are discussed and presented positively and negatively. He explains the situation in society and how the two genders relate and handle their differences in different activities using the available resources and the level of social intervention. Highlights are provided in the paper giving the refuted argument concerning gender-based about representation of Anja.

Addressing gender-based violence that affects different communities is an evolving field of practice where its prevention is a component of humanitarian action. Victoria Elmwood explains how historians recognized the importance of gender, stating that men and women faced the same suffering in terms of gender. Women live in Maus, as expressed by Art Spiegelman, have been expressed and presented in a neutral and human perspective, turning out to be a masculine character. Art shows trauma that has affected most women, which is mostly expressed in his mother, where at last, she commits suicide. However, Holocaust advocates for males’ voices and their experience and their memories, unlike the women characters. Holocaust states that the feminist type is associated with trivializing the Jewish tragedy.

Activists have the initiative of positioning violence against women and girls as human rights issues and address the issue in a public perspective. According to Art Spiegelman’s Maus rape, sex exploitation, abortion, and pregnancy are associated with women. Maus also creates a discrimination view of women following the Holocaust experience criticizing the absence of women and their voices from the Holocaust writing, which they appear to be interested in. Maus is seen to neglect the female victims of gender-based and other vulnerable situations like sexual abuse. Spiegelman faces criticism as he presents his mother’s condition, where the criticism is used to support and prioritize the male perspective, making them seem superior to the female gender. The stereotype of females to be submissive was accustomed to the culture and tradition where they were expected to be passive and silent. However, some scholars are interested in fighting against the gender-based situation and especially on women and ladies. The author is seen to be against the Holocaust, who seems to be in conscience with the gender-based supporters. As the Holocaust view women as helpless and fragile, the scholars gain the energy to fight against their victimization. According to the case presented in the Maus, one character addresses the lack of a mother’s voice, which represents a lack of women’s freedom. Anja is seen to face psychological torture when her three-year-old son and relatives lose their lives in the Nazi violence. The story is written based on Spiegelman’s interview to see what the cause of Anja’s death was.The death caused significant trauma to Spiegelman and his father, who led them to be second-generation survivors. The perspective of Anja was not presented directly since there was the unavailability of dairies to be use3ed by Spiegelman to draw on his mother. Men are believed to be superior and that why the Art Spiegelman is against the discrimination which was later experienced when Vladek destroyed all the memories his wife has stored, which was majorly made for her son to read. To recover all the loss, the Anja has faced a reconstruction of Vladek and Art’s memories should be done in favor of this woman. Men are seen as dominant over women when Vladek courageously participates in the burning of the Jews’ bodies and destroys all the evidence of Nazi destruction.

The scope of violence that concerned all women in the story gave gender inequality a momentum for most of the characters to advocate for freedom. As seen in the novel, awareness of gender discrimination and the story of Anja s revealed when Spiegelman calls his father a murderer after silencing her voice while presenting her grievances. Spiegel is seen to be angry with his father’s action, and the author presents him as a rival of all supporters of gender discrimination. Nazi violence gives a gendered character where the Jews were oppressed, and elimination of Anja’s perspective by Vladek represents an authoritarian regime and the ruling of women without a say. The comic presented by Spiegelman presents the self-consciousness of the concepts that are in the story, which give a challenge to the gender-based supporters.

Conclusively, some scholars argue that gender affects both men and women, mainly because they are abused at the same rate; others disagree stating that discrimination is majorly in women and men. Advocates and activists should take the opportunity and fight for the rights of all women and ladies in the society. Gender-based arguments have been presented in different sectors and organizations which help in addressing the problems. Most women faced a lot of domestic violence and referred to as inferior to men. The gender-based issue is a real situation that needs some awareness and support to be provided to the victims. Society should ensure their cultures and religions advocate for the freeness of women, and no man should be superior to any woman. They should also be free to speak about their problems in society.
