Colonialism is the act of gaining political authority over other settlements and countries, as well as plundering the economies of the victims mentioned. Whereas slavery is the condition in which an individual is owned by another and forced to do labor. It produces a great deal of pain and suffering for the victims, both physically and psychologically. This article will focus on the treatment of Africans and their descendants in colonial Virginia between 1629 and 1705. We will be able to witness how white people handled black people at the time as a result of this. However, we will be able to comprehend the historical events that occurred throughout colonialism.
Slavery of blacks occurred gradually in the American colonies, and historians believe that numerous Africans living in Virginia in 1619 were sold by a Dutch ship, implying that the slave trade was active at the time. The slave trade became the dominant thing in the 1680s. Working on the plantations was a harsh punishment for these slaves. As a result of this, the demand for black people got so strong that selling black people to whites became a frequent item of trade.
During the 1629 colonial Virginia, the majority of Africans were obtained from Ndongo’s Kingdom, a province of Angola. Africans used to be taken to Virginia and sold as slaves. Africans were segregated from whites in seventeenth-century Virginia owing to culture and race. The primary motivation for acquiring slaves was the strong demand for labor, particularly on tobacco-growing estates.
According to ‘partus sequitur,’ the offspring of those captive mothers had likewise been slaves since birth. They had little freedom because they couldn’t travel anywhere. Enslaved persons were regularly exposed to rigorous labor in a variety of chores from Monday through Saturday. Several acts are related to Virginia’s colonial slavery.
One of the acts is the act that legalizes slavery’s penalty and abolition. This ordinance was primarily intended to punish individuals who had been disobedient of the whites’ regulations. The slaves who had become sluggish and inept were also to be executed, according to the show.
Such activities caused a great deal of pain to Africans. Another act was performed to distinguish between white and black guys. The purpose of the act was to demonstrate a white guy’s superiority over a black man. The black guy was to be exposed to hard labor and forced to work extra hours.
Another statute was used in Virginia to identify who became a slave after entering the state. Slaves were those who were physically stronger and could work under more difficult conditions. They were just offering free labor under these circumstances. The act to repress the slave’s rebellious behaviors was employed to guarantee that any activity that was not in accordance with what the slave anticipated was dealt with quickly. Those who were found to be breaking the rules were almost always slain. The whites simply wanted Africana to follow the rules they set. Africans who were free were never acknowledged in any way. All of these acts caused a great deal of pain to Africans since they were unable to live free lives.
In conclusion, the Africans are seen as the primary victims of colonialism from the time it started and even the way it ended. We have seen in this text how humiliated the blacks were, and they had no other choice than to obey due to their weakness. However, it is still believed that this is the main Couse as to why Africa is behind in terms of developments, unlike the other continents.

A Job analysis is a number of activities carried out to systematically acquire, classify, and document all significant information about a certain job thus the type of personality education and experience required. A job analysis is used when writing a job description and specification. A job description is normally an outline of the way a certain job fits into the company. It shows the objectives and goals as well as the responsibilities and duties of the job in that company. A job specification describes all personal requirements expected from the employee(Brannick& Levine, 2002).
The first procedure is to write the job title and the person to be in charge of reports, then a job statement is developed describing the minor and major duties of the position as well as defining how this job relates to other positions in the company. Thus the ones that are subordinates and the ones that is of equal responsibility and authority. This will also include the job title, in which a person will report to as well as the summary of the position. Moreover it will list any educational requirements, the desired experience as well as the specialized skills/ knowledge required.
The range of salary and benefits and any listing of physical or other special requirements related with the job, as well as the occupational hazards shall be listed. Having a job description and job specifications written down helps one to determine on whether the employee needed is a par time or a full time employee, whether this person should be a permanent or temporary employee as well as if one can use a contractor to fill in the position (Brannick& Levine, 2002).
Most organizations have a compensation plan that is merely made to meet some compliance requirements while others are made to attract employees / retain them and also to motivate them towards achieving the company’s goals. An organization must determine and achieve an internal and external equity. An internal equity is determined by the maintenance of appropriate pay that is relative to the value and worth of a certain job in relation to other jobs within the organization. While an external equity is determined by the employer’s goal to pay what is necessary to attract, motivate and retain sufficient number of qualified employees. It is done by use of a base pay program that pays competitively.
This base pay program keeps an organization in compliance with various federal and state laws and regulations. A base pay program should be easy to administer, cost effective and flexible. The Pay structures are designed so that the better the worth of a job the higher the pay range and grade. For an organization to establish a pay structure, it needs to set rates of pay for the jobs within the job hierarchy. It should be done accordingly depending on the number of various levels of qualified job value that the organization recognizes as well as the difference in pay from the highest to lowest paid jobs within the pay structure (Torrington, 2009).
An organization should administer Pay Rates and Pay Increases depending on what to pay a new employee or how to pay a promoted employee. The organization should state the employee performance appraisal and rewards. The bonus structures should be consistent, fair, and understandable and communicated up front, and attached to measurable as well as achievable goals. The greater the shared picture of what an eligible bonus constitutes of by the employee and the organization the more the bonus shall result in employee motivation and success. Individual compensation is normally confidential, however the methods of determining pay and compensation should be must be precise and clearly understood (Torrington, 2009).

Comparison-Contrast Essay – 2130551
The use of internet has grown so much in the recent years. Up until the mid and almost late 90s, when the popularity of the internet had exploded, people were relying on traditional ways of getting things done. Currently, we turn to the internet in order to accomplish those same things however in a more modern way. This paper will compare and contrast the life before the internet versus after the internet.
The first example of how things have changed from life before the internet to life after the internet is how people communicate. Before the internet, the norm was writing letters to ones family and friends who live far away from them. People would often sit down with a pen and paper and put down what they wanted these people to know. They would then put the letter into an envelope, fix a stamp and put it into a mailbox. The letter would take days to be delivered depending on the exact location the letter was being delivered. Once the person got the letter, they would use the same procedure to reply. This means that it would take long before passing information from one person to the other. After the internet communication has become easy and fast. Today, one can sit down and type out an email with the information they want to send. Upon clicking the send button the email will reach whoever it is intended instantly. This means that information will be conveyed within a very short period of time. However, a similarity between writing letters before and emails now is that the same amount of time is used. Whether it took one to construct their thoughts in a letter for an hour, the same amount of time will be used by the person to express their thoughts using in an email (Forgarty, 2010).We can also say that conversations have changed from when there was no internet to now when people are using the internet. Conversations have also changed as technology has progressed it is not just by a mere shift from letters to emails. The difference can be termed more as upgrading. In the past, the only way one could hold a live conversation with someone else in a different location was through making a call over the phone. If someone wanted to inform their boss they were not going to report to work, they had the option of picking up the phone and calling them to covey this information. With the internet one has more options to use, in addition to a phone conversation one can use instant messengers through the computer to chat. There is also the development of skype, face me feature in some phones that enable people to make video calls.
When there was no internet, the only way we could get to learn about the events of the day was from newspapers and news. People often read news papers in the morning and rushed home in the evening to catch a glimpse of the news from their TV. By the time information reached people it was several hours old. However, with the internet people no longer rely on newspapers and evening news to be aware of what is going on. Today, people are able to get news at any time of the day from websites that relay news as it happens. This has led to the dissemination of information in real time. In fact, today we get to find out what is happening in the world easily as compared to the past (Camacho, 2010).
Students in this current internet era have an advantage over the students who went through school when there was no internet. In the past, if a student wanted to research for information on an assignment, they would have to go to the library. They would peruse through books, newspapers, magazines and other printed materials. With the internet, a student just needs to type some words or phrases and conduct a search over the internet. Just like that they have access to information at their fingertips unlike in the past. However, students are still tasked with the duty of ensuring that they pick only information that is relevant just as it was when there was no internet.
Overall, we can say that the world ahs gone through a change after the internet. Therefore we can say that life is a lot different when we compare when there was no internet and now that there is internet.
