There are many types of bias in when conducting research and unfortunately, in many disciplines, is extremely difficult to avoid. The goal of reducing bias is to make sure that all questions are thoughtfully posed and delivered in a way that allows respondents to deliver honest and open answers. One type of bias is habituation which is the when respondents provide the same answers to questions that are worded in similar ways. It is said that this a biological response when our brains go into autopilot when continually asked the same questions that are very similar in nature. Moderators must try to keep respondents engaged and interested to minimize habituation.
Another type of bias is question-order bias. One question can influence answers to subsequent questions, creating question order bias (Sarniak, 2015). Respondents are often stimulated by the words and ideas that are presented in the questions. This stimulation can impact the respondent’s feelings, thoughts and attitudes towards subsequent questions. The question-order bias can be unavoidable, asking general questions before specific, unaided before aided and positive before negative will minimize bias (Sarniak, 2015).

Recently it was discussed that there is only one way to do research perfectly but many ways to do it wrong, especially when a research is done without consideration of bias affecting the study and the implications it may have on any outcomes and reporting (Lakshminarayan, 2016). This is dangerous as it can affect patients and providers whom hear of these studies, and utilize their results to make some health decisions, albeit on false or misleading data. Hart, Lundh & Bero, (2012) discussed that clinical trials are the basis for informed evidence that affects clinical practice, and that reporting bias seems to be most prevalent in drug trials. This is a troubling trend as money seems to having a strong influence on bias in clinical research, drug development especially, as opposed to the health and wellbeing of patients.

M4A2 Marketing Plan: Consumer and Business Markets
Your goal for this part of your marketing plan is to determine if your product or service is focused on being in a consumer or a business market, and then which type within that category you will choose to be to drive sales. Keep in mind that many businesses and consumers cross market category types and lines, but for the purpose of this course and your final project, focus on one category (consumer or business) and one type within that category. This will help you to narrow your efforts to one channel and apply what you’ve learned more easily. Incorporate what you’ve learned from the readings and discussion.
For this part of your marketing plan, use what you learned in the module and the discussion to do some critical thinking– go past the surface and delve deeper into the problem. For the product or service that you are working with, investigate its website to determine what particular market type it is focused on, as well as how and why it is focused on that type of market.
Respond to the following prompts.
- Identify which market your product or service is operating in, C2B, C2C, B2B, or B2C.
- Identify and discuss the advantages of the company using its website to target a consumer or business market.
- Make at least two recommendations to improve the company’s presence in the market (C2B, C2C, B2B, or B2C).
Things to Remember!
- Your paper should be at least 1 ½ pages in length, not counting a cover page or reference page.
- Justify your recommendations by including in-text citations and references.
- Format according to APA style.
