Business Communication – Essentials of business communications
5.2 Radical Rewrite: Information E-Mail – Tips for Conferencing (pages 140-141)
Your Task: Use the provided information on pages 140 – 141 in the book to identify five
weaknesses and revise the message:
Analyze the message on page 141 in the textbook and identify at least five weaknesses. Record
the weaknesses in a Word document. Be specific and precise. For example, if you feel the
subject line should be revised, explain why.
Revise the e-mail, correcting all weaknesses in the document.
Do not send the e-mail – create the email, following the scenario in the book, in a Word document
and upload to the assignment submission area.
Include email “guide words”, just like an actual email (use the information in the textbook)
Incorporate a clear and concise opening, body, and closing
Reference the Writing Plan for Information E-Mails on page 117
Review Figures 5.1 and 5.3 in the textbook for proper formatting and to make visually appealing
Incorporate all writing techniques learned through chapters 2-4
Proofread, proofread, proofread!
Submit these as two different Word documents.
