American History

For this extra credit assignment, you will be asked to critically examine modern-day media and entertainment’s depiction of the early United States’ people, places, and events. You can review movies, TV series, musicals, graphic novels, documentaries, and digital/online exhibits about the Early Republic and Antebellum eras (1787-1860). This extra credit paper should be a review essay of 1.5-2 pages in length. You may submit up to two reviews. Each extra credit paper will contribute up to three percentage points to your final grade.

High-quality papers should:

be between 1.5-2 full pages in length;
have an introduction;
be double-spaced and written in 12-point, Times New Roman font;
provide supporting evidence in the form of well-chosen examples and analysis;
avoid plagiarizing the work(s) of others;
and, end with a solid conclusion.
