Damage Tolerance of Composites
Damage Tolerance of Composites
Composite products are designed with the predicted performance for a given damage condition while fulfilling reliability requirements. The residual load-carrying capability of the composite structure with the sustained damages must be evaluated for consistency before they are repaired.
With reference to AC-20-107B, provide a summary of the relationship between loads, the factor of safety, damage distinction, inspection intervals, and deformation. In your opinion, are they effective in ensuring the safe operation of the aircraft with sustained damages?
